    Chicken Taco

Chef Green's Chicken tacos are hella good! I believe I first found out about him by Bay Area Foodz. I was finally able to make it on a Tuesday during my lunch. It took a while for my order as there were a lot of people ahead of me. I've made it to a block party once as well. I can't really go like I want because I'm on the other side of town and can't make it during my lunch. Lately he's been making fish, but I haven't tried that.

Wow! I finally made it to the most sought-after fried fish in the East Bay! It's Friday...skies are blue, the temperature is perfect for a 20 minute drive and my stomach is reminding me I haven't eaten yet. To Chef Green's it is! I had been seeing this man on my timeline for a little while now. I finally decided to follow him to see what his spot was about. Every post was nothing but deliciousness so I decided to pull up TODAY! People had already begun to gather. I waited longer than necessary because it was my first time. I didn't realize everyone standing around had already ordered. Once I placed my order I waited about 15-20 mins for my number to be called! "25!" I raised my hand and was given a basket too heavy for one hand to hold. I politely thanked him, wrapped my food, grabbed a few napkins and headed back to my car. All you need is your thumb and index finger to enjoy this well seasoned fried fish and garlic fries. Fried food is something I'm trying to ease out of my diet. I do pretty good but on a day like today it was worth the cheat! Chef Green gives his heart to what he's preparing. He does it all while tending to the future little chef. It is getting harder and harder to find good people serving good food. If you're in West Oakland on a Friday pull up and support this gentleman. He opens at 12 and will close when he sells out! I hope you try it!

I've been following Chef Green on IG for quite some time and he was only selling tacos at the time. I finally made my way to get some and I was a little disappointed. He was late setting up which only added to the already lengthy wait time. I ordered surf and turf tacos which were just okay. I could taste cinnamon and I didn't like that. I should've ordered the birria taco but I didn't. Fast forward to Nov 2024... I won a free order of his fried chicken and garlic fries for guessing the correct pounds of chicken he posted. When I say DELICIOUS I mean DEE-PHUCKIN-LICIOUS THIS IS HOW TF YOU FRY CHICKEN. Redeemed! He seasoned the shit out of the chicken AND the fries. Flavor combustion and PERFECTLY crispy and juicy. He sells fried fish and fries that I look forward to trying as well. I have to try his birria tacos too, but I'll pass on the surf and turf ones.

I saw Chef Green pop up in my Instagram feed one day since I click on Mexican food posts and the tacos in the video looked so good. A friend of mine and I had tried to find him earlier this year but couldn't find him. I recently started to follow ChefGreen510 and he posted he would be there on Taco Tuesday (sorry, no Taco Tuesday promos) so we went today. This is one of those run, don't walk to get some great tacos and peach cobbler. Unfortunately as newbies we weren't sure how to order and sadly, we still aren't 100% sure. The picture on the payment sheet shows a Birria Taco and underneath it shows, Chicken, Beef, Oxtail. I ordered a Chicken and a Beef Taco which I got. I think Chef Green offers the taco with all three meats together. We plan to go again so we will clarify if all the meats is the standard taco. As we know, you can order a Chicken Taco and a Beef Taco separately but all three meats together is probably outstanding. To the serious part, absolutely love the tacos cooked with a pile of cheese on the grill, tortilla on top, more cheese, some of the drippings sprinkled on top and diced onions with cilantro to top it off. The whole package results in a nice crunch to outside of the taco giving it a crunchy shell texture. The chicken and the beef/ox tail is flavored just right and tender. Overall a nice flavorful taco with a slight outside crunch from the grilled cheese outside. It doesn't have a conssume dipping sauce but it is juicy so you don't really need it. I think they offer sour cream too if you want some. I ordered two peach cobblers too. The peach cobbler is pretty good. I like thicker and more Al dente peaches but Chef Green does make one of the better peach cobblers I have tried. The tacos, customer service and Chef Greens infectious smile makes you feel like you are hanging out at his place for good food and conversation. If you haven't been there, you need to go and yourself some great tacos. I drove almost an hour and the food was well worth the drive.

Overall, 8 out of 10. I waited for an hour to receive my order. I got there around 12:15p.m. and placed my order after about 20 to 25 minutes of waiting more people started to show up some of the people he seemed to know personally ...I'm not sure if they ordered before I got there, but it seemed like they had just gotten there and ordered and when the first batch of fish came out around 1 o'clock they got their order before me even though they ordered after me it seemed so there was a bit of favoritism from what I could gather. It was also advertised on his Instagram that he made homemade tartar sauce, and presumably homemade hot sauce to which was not present today because I overheard him say he was running behind, even though he posted on his Instagram very early in the morning, saying that he was getting ready for the day ....no big deal though really, he still provided packets of tartar sauce and hot sauce, but I would have loved to taste his homemade tartar sauce. Besides the hold time and the lack of certain items, the fish was very good, nice portions, reasonable price in my opinion and the flavor was very good. I would say he needs to get an extra fryer so that he can do more in less time since he's the only one cooking it. It's on a street corner. Nothing much to say about that. Just take your food and go home and eat it or go and eat it in your car because you don't want to eat it cold before it gets soggy. The fish was cooked beautifully buttery/flaky/melt in your mouth. And the fries had a good amount of garlic on them and were cooked well. I appreciate shoestring fries over thick cut fries any day. I will be returning eventually but maybe I'll get there even earlier to avoid being overstepped by a family friend. $20/plate 1hr wait 3piece fish(basa) with garlic fries

Food: it's fish Friday today and when I tell you that the fish was hot, crispy on the outside and moist in the inside and seasoned to perfection, also the garlic fries was perfectly seasoned and the assortment of dipping sauces was A-1. I'm so happy I made the decision to make it out today Service: I was greeted with a smile and what was on the menu today. She also told me the days and hours of operation including what food is served on those days. Super informative. The location is on the corner of 1575 7th street Oakland ca. Chef Green and his team was standing on business today. Working really hard and the wait was a little long but super worth the wait and I'll do it again. The ambiance was nice and clean and there was a good amount of people patiently waiting and supporting his amazing business. Chefs kiss ‍

ordered some fried basa and french fries at a fair. the seasoning was on point, really enjoyed the fish. it was a little salty without a drink but the flavors were kickin!! the garlic fries were perfect, not too salty, and very fragrant. everyone at the booth was really kind which made experience even better.

Great experience! The chef is friendly and inviting . The fish is the best fried fish I've had in a very very long time. It was our first time and he let us sample some before purchasing. The fish was crispy but melted in your mouth when you ate it. I can't wait to come back and try the tacos! I do wish there was somewhere to sit and enjoy this but I drove home a little under 20 min away and it was still warm and delicious.

Each of my tacos was great, but the mushroom one stood out. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch which gave them an excellent texture. They were also incredibly well seasoned. My barbacoa and Chile verde tacos were also solid with some nice topping variation that helped mix up the flavors and texture. Oscar's service is good and straightforward. Place your order up front and either grab a table there or walk to their back patio. I LOVE the back area on a sunny day and would highly recommend it. Each taco here will run you about 5-6 bucks so don't be too suprised by the sticker shock. I would say 3-4 tacos is the ideal range depending on how hungry you are. Give them a try if you're ever in the Mosswood/Temescal area.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. The flavors are rich and laid on thick. We ordered a veggie burrito, a bean and cheese burrito with rice added, and three tacos (carne, pollo asado, and Cameron's). The carne melted in my mouth, since it was rich with rendered fat, and the tortillas were crisped around the outside to melt and seal the layer of cheese inside. Probably our best overall dish was the bean-cheese-rice burrito -- covered in their salsas and peppers -- since it balanced all the ingredients and textures. On the other hand, the veggie burrito brought the flavor, but between the crema, pico, guacamole, and cheese it ended up soggy halfway through and the tortilla threatened to come loose. The shrimp and chicken were forgettable, and the tortillas come crispy off the griddle but they are damp by the time you walk anywhere to sit. What captures the truck in a nutshell are the chips they serve, covered in a seasoning that replicates Doritos flavor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. But you can get it elsewhere easily too.

Last time I visited Tacos Sinaloa was in 2025. I ordered a carne asada burrito, and was left…read moresomewhat dissatisfied. I'd thought the place had lost its touch, but maybe it was just an off day. Today in May of 2026 I've managed to visit while it's a slow day, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my food. I ordered a Carnitas burrito, and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered it one decade ago. While I was eating the first half of my burrito I was thinking "this is good, but burritos are good.. is it better than other burritos I've had, and why?" Something is different about burritos at Tacos Sinaloa, the food reflects that of some regional tacos trucks scattered throughout the East bay, but they're very distinct in how well they're capable of doing this style of Mexican food. As I said earlier- burritos are good. I think they are good because everything tastes good together, but not all burritos are created equal. The first thing that stood out to me about my burrito was the tortilla. It's not your standard tortilla, and it's nothing extravagant, but it seemed intentional. The tortilla is softer, thinner, and it holds up, but it's not chewy. It's there and it soaks up the oils and it doesn't take away from anything. In my experience, a bad tortilla can make a burrito less enjoyable. This tortilla adds in that it's barely there and it's pleasant because it soaks up the flavors without detracting. On the insides, the beans and rice can give or take away depending on where you get your burrito from. At Tacos Sinaloa on this particular day, the beans and rice did not take away from the burrito. The pinto beans were plum and creamy, and tasted like pintos. No nonsense- they added because they didn't subtract, I could go on about grainy beans or starchy over seasoned bean liquid, but NONE OF THAT HERE. The rice had perfect texture. It almost like 'al dente', but not in a chewy way, it had just enough rice texture and didn't get in the way of the other ingredients. It was mildly seasoned with your classic Mexican rice (aromatic tomato broth like flavor). No nonsense, no unnecessary spices, not over saturated in liquid, or turned to mush. Just good simply season rice. Cheese and sour cream- Salty Mexican cheese, presumably Oaxaca or something similar. Adds little salty flavor explosions throughout the burrito. Sour cream, added tangy acidity that cuts through the fatty ness making it taste more lively. Of coarse, the lovely creaminess. If you're not having your burrito with these I'm very sorry for you. The star of the show- The Carnitas here is just done right. It's not over seasoned with anything, it just tastes like melty delicious braised pork shoulder, then fried to accentuate it with crispy mallard bits that surprise you throughout the burrito. Towards the end of my experience I came to the conclusion that what makes a Tacos Sinaloa burrito good is that its ingredients forward- each ingredient tastes good on its own, and that can't be said for all burritos. It's not a burrito for the sake of being a burrito. All the ingredients seem intentionally chosen so that none get in the way of one another. I want to say they make the meat the star of the show, but even if you were to have a bean and rice and cheese + sour crème burrito here it would be an exceptional burrito, which is a testament to their culinary philosophy. Last but not least- yes they have salsa, and of coarse it's good, and I love that they give lemon slices with your food - it's another small intentional detail that they offer lemon instead of lime. Carnitas burrito 5/5. Sinaloa overall 4/5 because of inconsistency.

The main reason I never went before was the parking situation, which honestly can be a little challenging, but for this visit we found parking down the block and around the corner. The short walk after dinner ended up being nice anyway. We had reservations, although we did wait about 15 extra minutes while another party finished their meal. My family member pointed out they were enjoying drinks, so that probably added some time. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to get us seated as quickly as possible. Water was brought to the table right away, and our drink order was taken promptly. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised to learn the mango vinaigrette dressing did not contain oils, since I personally avoid seed oils. The salad was fresh and delicious. Some of my family members ordered the buffet, which looked incredible. At first it seemed like too much food for me that day, but once I saw everything included, I started thinking maybe I should have ordered it too since it was only about seven dollars more. They brought complimentary chips, guacamole, and salsa to the table, and everything was so flavorful. The guacamole was especially delicious, and they happily refilled the chips several times. I finally understood why the restaurant is called "Los Moles" because their mole sauces are outstanding. I got to try some from my son's plate, and it definitely made me want to come back and explore more of the different mole options. They also offer vegetarian choices, which is great. Although I am very particular about cooking surfaces, my food is cooked on and in, the Mexican coffee which was heated in some type of who knows what metal, had a good flavor. It inspired me to re-create it at home. Another standout for me was the freshly made corn tortillas served with the meals. They were soft, warm, and incredibly good. I also tried the beans, which were full of flavor. Overall, this restaurant really stood out in my memory, and I definitely want to return someday to try more moles.

They do have tables outside, but we were told that we couldn't start our meal outside and then move to a table indoors after one was available, so we waited. Oh well! As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of online orders, indicating this is a popular place with those in the neighborhood. We got a few beers while we waited for a table. They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!
