The lomo saltado had good flavor , the green sauce was really good I poured it all over the rice and meat. We ordered ahead so we could sit and eat on my lunch break and it came out fast.

Ordered lomo saltado and chaufa de pollo. No customers inside so it's not like the kitchen was slammed to make a bad meal. This food was terrible, better food down the street at ceviche 6 9. $25 for lomo saltado with some rubbery meat? This place looks like a front business. How could it even be open with this terrible food?

My first time eating here as Peruvian myself i was expecting a good Lomo Saltado no way first and last the meat was ugh no flavor at all... I ate because I was hungry but will never recommend it... I put one start just because the customer Service is amazing and the girls are very nice... The parking lot is very big no problem there and the restaurant looks cozy has stage for music and show. The bathroom needs a good decoration and cleaning.

Great ambiance. Kareoke is fun but volume is too loud to carry a conversation with anyone at your table. There is no actual bartender which would be a HUGE plus. It's the busboys/waiters ( there were only 2 and 1 was doing most of the work) That are multitasking including making/serving drinks. It looks bad when the restaurant doesn't have an actual bartender and bar back. Glasses, bottles all piled up on the bar gives it an unesthetic look.

Chef Hornero is a Peruvian restaurant in Bellflower, CA, at the northeast corner of Woodruff Ave and Rosecrans Ave. Good thing I finally tried it (1/8/21) after driving by it 500 times. *me rolling my eyes at myself* ENVIRONMENT This is definitely a restaurant I want to go back to when we can dine once again. It's got a very mi-casa-is-su-casa vibe that I like. But until then, COVID-19 restricts us to just a very tiny area blocked off for ordering at the window inside and for picking up takeout orders. SERVICE The nicest and most efficient in the area. You can tell this is a family restaurant. Love it. MY FAVORITE PART... The flavors from that lomo saltado. I didn't want to stop eating it! I envisioned what it would be like to have four stomachs like cows do, then I quickly slowed down my pace so I wouldn't look or feel like any bovine species the next day. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I'm sure you can see the prices online or through an app, but once inside the lobby area, there are no prices listed on their wrap-around, wall-to-wall menu. I yearned for some vegetables in this lomo saltado that other restaurants in the area tend to incorporate. I had one piece of a tomato and a few thinly sliced onions. THE GRUB Try the lomo saltado ($18.60 including tax). The steak was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The potatoes, er I mean, thick fries, were not half bad. There was plenty of nicely cooked white rice. The green sauce was provided in a small bag tied together much like a bag of frosting a baker would use to decorate a cake. I snipped the end off with a pair of scissors and was happy with the awesome spicy kick, but I wanted more by the end of my meal. Not quite the portion I was expecting at that price. Food takes about 15-20 minutes to be ready when you order in person. PARKING Free, but minimal in a shared lot with other nearby businesses including a Jack-in-the-Box. TIP Current Yelp checkin offer is for 20% off of your final order. OVERALL I can't wait to actually dine here and try other Peruvian fare. | Food: 4 | Service: 5 | Environment: 4 | Price: 3 |

I was running an errand in the area and stopped in to pick up lunch to take back to work. They had a take out window just inside the entrance where I ordered the ultimate Peruvian comfort food - lomo saltado - and a can of Inca Kola as my beverage choice. It took less than ten minutes to prepare and the kind woman behind the counter who took my order ran out to open the front door for me so I wouldn't have to juggle my food & drink while reaching for the door handle. The container they provided kept the food hot until I opened it 20 minutes later. The flavorful beef was tender and the thick slices of potato were hot & soft. I much prefer lomo with thick fries like this rather than thin ones; the thin ones get mushy from the soy sauce. There weren't many tomato slices but plenty of onions. The rice was "okay" - I didn't eat much of it because the potatoes always fill me up. The aji sauce (green sauce) provided in a separate container was much too hot for me (probably the hottest I've had at a Peruvian restaurant) so I barely used any. But then again, I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff. I've tried many plates of lomo saltado both in the States and on my half dozen trips to Peru. I'd say this is definitely above average in quality and taste in comparison to other Peruvian restaurants in the U.S. but also above average in price. 3.5 stars!

We arrived around 2pm on a Saturday, there was plenty of parking in the front. The restaurant was cleaned and we fast greeted by the staff, the restaurant is really spacious and the menu has a large selection. We order the lomo saltado and ceviche , everything came out in a fast efficient manner. Overall everything was very delicious and authentic. Highly recommend it.

One waitress for all tables. Food not fresh. Men's restroom had a bad sewer smell. Owners son charged me $15 more for an item I didn't consume, told him to check he's camera. On my receipt that $15 charge was stated as "corcho" which means stupid in Peru.

This place never fails. Whenever we stop in LA this is a must. We just had a baptism and ordered arroz con pato, ceviche mixto, pollo a la braza and 2 different vegetarian dishes. Everything was a delicious as always specially with their house sauces. I would order again for our next get together.

I waited nearly twenty minutes for them to take my to-go order, another 35 to get my food and was it worth the wait? No. Mediocre at best.

Not very appetizing. Also I noticed some trash like straw paper under the table. There was no one there before me so they must not have swept before closing the night before. The tables were also sticky, and the overall interior was dated. No other customers came the whole time we were there during peak lunch time. My niece and I decided to share the Leche de Tigre ($21.99) and a Lomo Saltado ($19.99). The food came out in a decent amount of time. The leche de tigre was decent but the chips it came with were stale and insufficient in ratio of how much leche de tigre there was. The portion size was more than what we wanted to eat. The menu showed they used to have a smaller size and that would have been better for us. The lomo saltado is the most disappointing of all. This is typically a Peruvian restaurant main dish so I wanted my niece to try it, but this was such a bad first impression of Peruvian cuisine. The beef was tough and the flavor was forgettable. The fries were... edible. I didn't care for the rice. We barely touched it. We were so excited to come here and we left pretty disappointed with our appetites spoiled. Not recommended.

Upon first bite, I did not like the carne. IMO I don't like bell pepper and that's the first thing I tasted, so that overpowered my palate from being to taste the carne. My boyfriend however enjoyed it. He said it had good flavor and was tasty. We then tried the jamon y queso. My favorite of the 3 we tried and probably the only one I ate. I like ham and I like cheese so I enjoyed it. Since this was the only one I liked, my boyfriend let me eat all of this (since we were splitting it). I like the saltiness you get from the ham and the texture of the melted cheese makes the empanada melt in your mouth. I did not like the elote. I was expecting something different. And again I tasted bell pepper. My boyfriend ate this one. He said he likes how it had a lot of corn and there was some type of sauce inside that brought of the flavor which he enjoyed. The ambiance of where this is located is cool. It's located in the Steel Craft and we were there for the game so it has a great atmosphere.

The menu had so many different options that I had a hard time deciding between the soups, traditional meat dishes, and pasta selections. I ended up ordering a pasta dish that surprisingly had an Asian-inspired flavor profile. It reminded me a bit of Kung Pao chicken with linguini, thanks to the red and green bell peppers, onions, and a nice kick of spice. It was delicious, especially with the house-made green salsa they served on the side. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and although I passed on the plantains since I was dining solo, the server kindly brought me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is a cozy, mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot with a mix of two- and four-top tables. Parking was easy, and I found a space right in front. I stopped by just before closing, and there were still a few people enjoying dinner. Expect to spend around $30 per person. Overall, I enjoyed the food and friendly service, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.
