They start you off with fresh chips and salsa, and they're so good you'll want to order a second round before your food even arrives! My mom and I both decided to try their summer special, the Enchiladas de Camarón, and they were delicious. The portions were generous, and we definitely had plenty to eat. The service was also excellent. Our server Ericka was very kind and attentive, making sure our orders came out correctly and checking in to see if we needed anything else throughout our meal. I also really enjoy the atmosphere here. I've visited on Fridays when they have live mariachis, which makes the experience even better. We actually celebrated my grandmother's birthday here last year as well, and that was another memorable family celebration. This has become a special restaurant for my family, and it's a place we continue coming back to for birthdays and other occasions. Great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

We had family in town and needed a last minute reservation on a Sunday for 12 people. The qualifications: AC and delicious food. Panxa Cocina fit all of the above and the entire squad left the restaurant raving about their experience. Our crew shared a bit of everything fried squash, queso, ceviche, enchiladas, and their verde chilaquiles with over easy eggs and chicken. Each of these items were delicious, but I'd return for the ceviche and chilaquiles. The ceviche was a delicious mix of sweet and salty. Their tortilla chips are made fresh in-house and paired perfectly with the fresh cut fish. I was also impressed by their cocktails. With family in town, we visited a number of fan-favorite restaurants across the coastline. Panxa stole the show for best mixed drink: the watermelon margarita. Excited to live so close and make this a consistent haunt.

There's a kiosk to self-order, I ended up talking to the cashier anyways since there was no line. The ambiance is that of Rodeo 72, otherwise the storefront here is white and clean and nondescript. Tacos de canasta - soft, steamy, juicy, oily, and tasty. I got one of each (potato, chicharron, and beans), which were well seasoned and moist. Birria Mexican burrito - delicious. Maybe I have a small sample size but among the better birria I've tried lately, the meat is tender and juicy and falls apart without any weird stinginess. Comes with consommé which itself is super flavorful and doesn't feel like just oily, muddy meat juice. Salsas - pleasantly spicy, the tomatillo is my favorite. Maybe my experience was different from others since the food court wasn't busy at all. But I'll be coming back regularly when I'm in the area.

I ordered the tacos dorado with asada for myself. Service was good and standard, so I have no complaints about it. I got notified via text instead of a buzzer. You have an option between frijoles or papas as your base. I went with potatoes. The tacos themselves were good. It was basically loaded potato tacos where they top it with meat. The confusing thing was the "tomato sauce" that they use. I have no reference for what the sauce was supposed to be, but it reminded me more of a salsa and it was too wet for my liking. The tacos already came with salsa, so I didn't think the tomato sauce was needed. Didn't really add much to my food other than drenching it more with the fixings that were already included. Solid taco vendor. They have other interesting offerings I'm down to try like their birria grilled cheese, so I'd probably return if I'm back in the area.

Let's start with the margarita I got, I did not taste any alcohol in it (and I cannot have strong drinks! So that can tell you a lot) not worth $18. We basically paid for an expensive agua fresca! Then I ordered the carne asada skewers. The first bite was okay, not very flavorful, but I thought I could just finish it. As I go through the meat, I notice so much fat and very little meat. I grab another piece and bite into it, I start chewing and realize that it tasted like raw meat (with a hint taste of raw meat that spent too much time in the fridge) I immediately got nauseous and spit it out on a napkin. I told our server and he asked me what else I would like. I then ordered the fish tacos, he brought it out in less than 5 minutes (kind of fast if you ask me) I try a small piece of the fish and it wasn't bad, I give a piece to my friend and she only got fat. Why is there fat in my fish tacos! I tried to pick through it so I could atleast get full, but I couldn't do it. The server came to pick up our plates and asked me if I didn't like the tacos, I said no but that's okay don't worry about it. I was so disappointed because I was starving. My friend ordered the rib eye tacos and had to pick through it too because most of it was fat. The only good thing that happened was that our server did not charge me for the two plates that I didn't eat. We thanked him, paid the check and left. Unfortunately, this was not the best food and we were excited to eat and celebrate my birthday.

However this location was not a nice experience. And with this early evening out experience, it was the first time I have ever pondered that tipping culture may be outdated and obsolete. I have really received better service from Denny's and iHop. When this is supposed to be fine dining I do expect fine service with it too. The food: It was good, but I order the same thing at all locations, the lobster enchiladas. So thumbs up with the consistency at the California locations. I do think the Cabo location has a little extra twist of tasty. Drinks: I don't remember them being this lackluster at locations. The restaurant is so beautiful and has a nice ambiance to it. It makes you feel like you have traveled somewhere outside of downtown L.A. but that is where the magic ends. Our waitress felt very matter of fact with us. She wasn't outgoing and welcoming. I wanted to try something different and was going to ask her for a suggestion, but she really made me feel like she just wanted my order and don't bother her with anything else. When it was time to collect the plates from the table, it was weird. The men helping to clear the table never said anything like excuse me when reaching across us. I am only 5'3 so me being chest to table is pretty normal. One of them came too close for comfort to my chest when reaching across trying to clear the tables. Slow down and pay attention to where you are reaching. At the end of dinner, we never even looked at the dessert menu because at that point we were just ready to go. Upon departure, we had to stand and wait for our vehicles. All 3 of use drove in separate cars. So, we spent almost what we paid for meals in parking. Please Javier group, figure this location out or give it up to a restaurant who is going to deliver food and service as beautiful as the place itself.
