This was during the holiday season last year- Put in a phone order for a pickup, but had to wait 30mins-hour while I saw a group of people also in the same situation as me. Saw the workers arguing near the kitchen while all the patrons waited outside in the sprinkling rain since they closed off the seating area and could only pickup from the door entrance. Food quality was good, price cheaper than advertised around similar businesses in the area for a tray of fried rice. Would I do it again? This is my current favorite mom & pop Chinese takeout spot. Our current orders consist of combination fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce (soo good!), salt & pepper chicken wings or pork (what they're popular for), & orange chicken (because, duh!). All of the fried food always come out crispy even if it's to go. The only thing is that sometimes the fried rice seems bland. Some days it's amazing though. It's the only thing that's not consistent. We did order the mixed veggie dish before but it has chunks of onion bulbs. I'm not really a fan of chomping on chunks of onions so we never ordered it again. If that's your thing, then make sure to order that! We've also tried the sesame balls. They're good. Nothing special but we've had better. The service is friendly. I usually call in at least 30 min before I want to pick the food up. They do take longer to prepare the food so it's best to call ahead. Make sure you call!! Don't order for pick up via Ubereats or DoorDash because they up charge everything by $3+. If you order for pick up, you pay at the front door & then you exit and pick up the food through the back door This spot used to have an area to dine in but ever since they transformed it into To-go only during COVID, they never looked back. It works out because they have generous portions so it's best to enjoy at home and just put all the leftover away after! I think there's a reason the Lord did not let my husband and I try this place, even though we are by it all the time. This place is a hidden gem! We had been Instacarting all day on Saturday and had not had dinner yet. On our last order, we went to FoodMaxx right next door, and as soon as we got out of the car, the entire parking lot was intoxicating with delicious food smells. We still had to do the order, but luckily it was close enough that we were able to come back 30 minutes before closing. Even after getting there late, the food was FRESH when we received it. I am talking, too hot to hold on the drive home. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Fish with chow mein. The fish was still crunchy and hot when we got home (about a 5-minute drive), and the chow mein was greasy (we like it that way). I would definitely come back for other fried foods. My husband got the Mongolian beef and BBQ pork fried rice. He absolutely loved the BBQ pork fried rice. He said it was the best he has ever had--trust me, he knows what he is talking about. The Mongolian beef was ok, but that's my fault. I make a killer Mongolian beef, and it's hard to beat that. Overall, we paid $34, and the portions were amazing for that price! We will definitely be back time and time again. I cannot say much for the service since we ordered through one window and picked up at another--we did not interact with the employees much. read more

I called in my order for pickup and arrived within 30 minutes to find it ready to go. Parking was a bit of a hassle since it's a busy area with traffic. I couldn't go inside the store, so I picked up my order from the side entrance, where there was a table and a lady taking orders. I'm not sure if they only offer take out because I didn't see anyone dining inside the restaurant. Also, they placed all my food orders in a box, which was so convenient for me to carry. Let me tell you...I loved the walnut prawns! They were so crispy and perfectly coated in the white sauce. Yum! The orange chicken was good..crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and covered in a sticky, sweet, tangy sauce. The beef and broccoli were okay. I mean, it's beef and broccoli, haha. My husband kind of liked the Kung Pao chicken. It's usually his favorite, but he wasn't too much of a fan of this version. The girl (long hair with glasses) who is prepping take outs was picking and eating food with her fingers from a take out container, which she wrapped for customer to pick up. Love this spot! A few folks recommended it to me and I did enjoy my food. It does cost a bit more relative to other fast Chinese food spots that serves food out in the open with trays of food premade. I love how Uncle Yu makes everything fresh to order. I got their kung pao chicken plate, and for a couple bucks more I upgrade to chow mein instead of the white rice/fried. Total came out to $16 or so, a little bit more for tip. It's mostly a take out spot, and I think they don't allow customers to dine in. The food was packed in that box, enough to last me two meals. The flavors of the noodles were delicious! So flavorful. Also loved the flavors of the kung pao chicken, it had a slight spicy kick to it. Overall, I was really happy with the quality and quantity of my food and would probably be back! read more

Good Old style Take-out Chinese restaurant. Nearby our place and not over salty (MSG) good food. I especially liked the String Bean Chicken. Loaded with Fresh string beans and good flavor. Again, not overly MSG'd. One knock, We ordered the Mu Shu Pork, the filling was very good but only 3 or 4 pancakes with all that filling. Other than that, everything was great. I had totally forgotten to make a green bean dish for my daughter's 50th birthday celebration yesterday that started at 12:00 noon. I panicked and called Uncle Yu's restaurant to see if they could prepare a tray of green beans for me, but they told me to call back in 30 minutes to see if their green beans were delivered for the day. I called later but they told me they didn't expect the delivery until the afternoon. I thanked them and hung up. A few minutes later, they called me back (even though I didn't leave my name or number!), and said the delivery came, and that I could pick up the beans at 12:00!! I went to pay for my order at about 11:40, and they had my delicious pan of green beans ready for me!! I can't say enough about their follow-up and excellent customer service! Uncle Yu is exactly what you expect from a Chinese takeout spot--fast, straightforward, and filling. Strictly a take-out restaurant with no area for dine-in. - Orange Chicken Really good. Crunchy, sweet and savory. Majority of Chinese takeout joints have mushy orange chicken so this was a pleasant surprise. - Honey Walnut Prawn Not quite like what you would get at a Chinese banquet but it did the job. The batter is on the thicker side which i know some don't like so if you prefer a lighter crust, you might want to avoid this. - Beef Chow Fun Well seasoned with that wok hei flavor you want from a dish like this. - Mongolian Beef The beef was really tender so mostly likely had gone through some velveting. It was salty so you'll want this over rice. - Tofu and Veggies Good mix of veggies, tofu and shiitake so the flavors were quite balanced. If you're craving Chinese takeout, this is the kind of place where the portions make up for the lack of service. For example one order of Mongolian beef or orange chicken plus rice could easily stretch into more than a few meals, so you're getting value. The lady manning the counter just does not care so don't be surprised if your food gets tossed in the bag and thrown at you. If I could, I would rate Uncle Yu 3.5 but I'll do 4 because of the overall value. read more

I thought this place would be a quick grab and go with hot food prepared already. It's a full restaurant but unfortunately they aren't allowing people to go inside to eat. They take your order slightly inside with it blocked off, but the menu offers the full Chinese dishes. They also cater for your party needs. I did the lunch combo with fried rice and sweet and sour pork. It took awhile ~ 15 mins, while I waited, they had a handful of other orders with customers grabbing their orders. It was well worth the wait, it was fresh and super hot when I ate in my car. They do not skimp out and the order is basically 2 orders in 1. The sweet and sour pork was too perfection! The fried rice was a good choice, I usually get that over chow mein. I tried with what seems like a well-established Chinese take-out, as I've been wanting to put a few in my list of options, as it seems many of the ones I used from say 2005-2020 are mostly gone. This one seems like it used to have a dine-in function, but now no more. They block the door off with a table, so no more entry into their business, but you can see tables and chairs inside. I'm sure the pandemic sealed the deal on this mode as many mom n pop ethnic places don't want to deal with dine-in customers. And for this particular spot I can kinda see why as their location seems to have a steady flow of sketchy peeps outside. I'm actually not a fan of this parking lot but I will now come through as their food has won me over, to make them part of my take-out rotation. Wor Won Ton Soup ($13/3.5*) I think this would be a lot better if eaten at a table there. But as a take-away it is crammed into one of those quart sized deli cups and the overall quality dwindles a bit the longer it takes you to eat it. The protein chunks are money, velveted chicken and pieces are super tender and silky just the way I remembered it being as kid growing up. There's also nice sized whole shrimps and nice vibrant baby bok choy, so this is a very hearty soup. They don't have a regular bowl of wonton soup, just this deluxe version. Now the wontons themselves are the thing that suffers the most from this take-out format. Their dumplings are very delicate, soft filling and even softer wrapper. So after pulling from the deli cup, the wontons are a bit mushed and even some being broken. Still tasted fine but a far cry from the pretty bowl I remember from growing up where those wontons would flow and swim in that aromatic and chunky broth. Fish in Garlic Sauce ($16/3*) Fish are in little chunks, battered and fried. Then tossed in a sweetish brown garlic sauce to where the fish will no longer be crisp, just a nice batter glistening with sauce. I liked the fish quality and texture but the sauce was just a bit sweet for me, thought it would be more savory. Still good with rice tho. Beef Broccoli ($16/4*) Beef velveted til very tender. Sauce on the lighter end of the spectrum and broccoli was cooked to a softer state than most others out there. I still think it is solid take-out version worthy of repeats for me, as I really like the combo of beef with broccoli, Combination Fried Rice ($14/4*) Similar protein chunks as the Wor Won Ton Soup but just in fried rice form. Rice nicely wok'd and they fill that clam shell up nice and full. Mu Shu Shrimp ($16/4.5*) Love this dish when done right and this version is right up there. Even though I usually gravitate towards the shrimp version, I mostly like this dish for the vegetable content. Love the wok'd cabbage, onion, bamboo shoots and black fungus that get all wilted yet retains a bit of crunch. And add the wok hei flavor and nice light sauce that absorbs perfectly into this mix, is so good wrapped in those soft rice paper. Or I can just eat a big mound of this over some steamed rice, either way hits the spot for me. So good solid take-out Chinese in a not-so-hot location but call in that order and you'll be in and out in no time. May have to deal with a few Door Dashers cutting in front of you in line (their decorum needs to be talked about), but I still think this place deserves a shot. read more

Traditional menu selection and ideal with the "all day over rice menu". Ordering couldn't be any easier and fast.
