Food was plentiful and good. Our waiter was really nice and gave us good advice on what's good. The place is inside an apartment complex I believe, so you need to get a pass from the front. Would go again if I'm ever in town again!

    Calamari

What a find! We loved the food and the staff was friendly and fast. Portions were generous and food was delicious. Some of the best calamari I've ever had - lightly fried, flavorful and fresh. A true gem and so glad we stopped in for dinner!

Really interesting place. It's located on the bottom floor of an apartment complex (or maybe they are condos, I'm not sure) and you have to drive through security gate to get in. We went this time to try the pizza. They have a nice patio area but we decided to sit inside by the bar. The pizza was good and flavorful, Detroit style pizzas. Drinks were good as well. The only thing we didn't care for was the banana cream pie dessert. The banana topping and filling was nice but we didn't like the crust. Service was very good but they did become quite busy near the end of our meal and attentiveness started to peter out. I'd like to go back some time and try their non-pizza menu items.

Wish I could give a 3.5 because I did like their service and they even packed my food for me instead of just giving me a box! Jorge was nice and Inviting, but the paella was not amazing imo especially for the price. The calamari was also pretty good but I was expecting more based on the description that was given to me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think the atmosphere is nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and I'll probably try this place again with another dish, but I do think you should check this place out if you like seafood because they do have a lot of options.

My hidden gem has fresh seafood and keeps a tasty, seasonal cheesecake. This halibut has a nice crab cream sauce with perfectly roasted vegetables. I love a crisp potato. The cheesecake is tasty and not overly sweet. Zucchini is thin, just to know, in case you want to try a different appetizer. The restaurant is small with friendly waiters. If you're going to this location on a weekend, reservations are highly recommended.

I had heard from others about Chef Tonys. I heard the seafood was fantastic. I thought I would check it out. Upon arrival, I did not realize the restaurant was located on the ground floor of a condo high-rise. There is security you have to stop and see to get a parking pass to enter the property. The property parking should be ample for the restaurant and the nearby arcade. The signage for the restaurant is small but enough to maneuver your way through the hallway to fond the restaurant. The restaurant space is fairly small and older. The aroma, however, is bold and exciting. The crab staffed mushrooms were very flavorful. A tad too much mustard in the mix for me other very good. The lobster was very good and a great size. It is served ith sqaush and potatoes. The canoli was just OK. I had a couple of mixed drinks. They were OK as well. Overall, it's great food. Worth the visit.

I came here on a Friday with my husband and son. My friend had given me a gift card to Chef Tony's that I had been holding onto for awhile so I was very excited to give this place a try. The restaurant is actually inside a high rise community so I was honestly a little confused turning into the community... I thought Google Maps had steered me wrong. This Chef Tony's location is inside of a residential community, you have to let the parking gate keeper know once you arrive. We had no issues finding parking and a few residents walking outside were kind enough to direct us to the 'Arcade' entrance where the restaurant is located a few steps from. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available as well as high chairs for children. My husband and I ordered a few dishes to try and share: - Half a Dozen Local Oysters - These are from the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The oysters were large and it came with cocktail sauce and two lemon wedges to flavor the oysters. - Cream of Crab Soup - I really liked this soup, you can really taste the Old Bay flavor. There are lumps of crab meat sprinkled throughout the soup. Any fan of crabs would love this soup :) - Dad's Crab Pasta - This comes with lump crab meat, curry accented tomato cream sauce and linguine pasta. This reminded me of a Buttered Chicken flavor. I would definitely order this again next time I come back! - Maryland Style Crab Cake - This comes with a huge crab cake made up of crab meat (zero filler), garlic mashed potatoes and daily veggies. This was cooked perfectly and tasted great with the two sides all mixed with the sauce The staff here were friendly, attentive and even took the time to try to interact with my son. i really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be adding this into my rotation of restaurants when I feel like eating out :)

    The 4-4-2 Pizza

Chef Tony's has so much going for it. Great location, off the beaten path, in a gated condo. Parking is pretty easy. Getting to the restaurant is fun, a little like Henry and Karen entering the Copa to see Bobby Vinton in Goodfellas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is on the Arcade level and is sleek, fresh, and well-lighted. There is a separate bar area with softer lighting and an outdoor patio as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dishes I've ordered or tried have all been solid. The portions are more than generous, which is nice to know with prices everywhere being higher. My favorite is Dad's Crab Pasta. They also have Pizza, Detroit style. My go-to is the 4-4-2. Deep dish, sausage, bacon, ample sauce, milder cheese blend, hot honey drizzle... Most recently tried the mushroom pizza. I could eat that every day. The pizza is an acquired taste. The sauce is on the "sweet" side, which I like, and there is plenty of it, I like that too. You can opt in to receiving text messages/ from them, which can be nice, if you want to know about specials and such. Service is on par, prices as well, though the portions are more than ample, so overall, pretty decent value, especially these days.

I didn't get to take any pictures but went to dinner on a Tuesday night. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and offered great recommendations. We tried the seafood pasta and the stuffed salmon and both were excellent. The calamari was as also delicious, never had better. The serve large portion sizes! Definitely recommend if you're in the Bethesda area.

Any Marylander of the Boomer and GenX generation knows about O'Donnell's RUM BUNS. I used to come here with family back in its heyday and these were served table side before our meal. How crazy is that, a nice lil somewhat sinful dessert BEFORE some MD crab?! Those were the days! The rum buns are more nostalgia more than anything, I wouldn't say they'll blow your socks off, but hey, nostalgia is nostalgia. Well, I'll need to dine in here for a full and complete verdict, but my quick grab and go visit was a tad chaotic. Service for taking orders could improve - you walk in, there's a seafood counter to your left, bakery counter to your right (both were unmanned when I walked in) and in the middle is a deli section with the cash register where I assume they take orders. We stood there for a few good minutes before getting anyone's attention despite the fact a manager asking staff (not customers) if everyone was being helped. Clearly staff did not know who was waiting to check out, take orders or just waiting for their orders to arrive. So it was just weird. No one greeting you as you walk in either, it just also weird because there's no clear line anywhere you stand. Otherwise, rum buns were as I remembered them. Also picked up crab dip and chicken salad from the grab and go section from the back and they were just ok, not bad, not great. So will come again for a future visit hoping to have a much better meal and experience!

My company and I have different likes so we disagreed on favorites but the good news is someone loved everything! We tried the short rib and salmon sliders. Short rib has sweet flavor. I would order both again. The friend pickles were what you'd think they would be but I was wanting a stronger pickle flavor. The crab beignets were a hit for both of us. The broiled potatoes had too much of a garlic flavor for me. Tasted good but honestly would've been better if they came as advertised, broiled potatoes. No garlic oil which clashed with the side of ketchup. Just crispy salted potatoes would've complimented the meal better. Everything was happy hour prices which I loved because it allowed me to try lots of things. It's worth the early seating and I'll definitely be back. Again, kudos to the awesome staff!

To stay…read moreby the side of our elderly dog, we are foregoing the experience of dining out, more and more. After we finished eating, she remarked we needed to visit the restaurant sometime. We'll have to look for an opportunity when we are around the dog all day, so she can be on her own for a couple of hours, likely sleeping. Birdsong already is acclaimed. This is much more Thai and Thai American. Like Chinese or Italian cuisine before it, Thai flavors have assimilated to a palate not accustomed to the true strength of the spices. Birdsong is a remedy. They do not offer the pad thai that has become a staple, no longer exotic but to its detriment. (A digression. The history of pad thai, with contested origins, is fascinating. As you delve into these matters, you see how syncretic culture is. You also are exposed to the efforts to fashion a unifying mythology.) We ordered the chicken, the shrimp, the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the enhancement. The chicken and the shrimp were quality ingredients, prepared well. Although both proteins were fried, they felt clean. The crab fried rice was one option of many with the rice base. The papaya salad was fresh. The enhancement was radish with "fermented daikon, garlic, red onion, cilantro, palm sugar, and fish sauce scrambled with eggs for a balanced savory and sweet flavor," and the portion was generous: we put it on the rice, then I finished it off in an omelet the next morning. We have traveled to Bangkok. Thai spiciness exceeds what I would endorse, and I love hot dishes. Birdsong was much milder, though with sufficient pepperiness my wife, who does not share my preferences, remarked it was closer to her limit. They will work with you in this respect, and I'm confident I could request something that would test my capabilities. That is, in my book, all positive. The dishes that were mild according to the menu, were mild, but they were flavorful. If you do not like fish sauce, for example, you may not appreciate the offerings, which if they don't have fish sauce have something along those lines. I hope Birdsong fares well.
