This place just feels like comfort the second you walk in. I ordered breakfast and it came with biscuits and gravy -- and wow. The biscuit was so soft it practically melted in my mouth, and the gravy was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. It tasted homemade in the best way. The open-faced turkey sandwich was pure comfort food. Thick slices of turkey smothered in gravy, sitting next to a huge scoop of fluffy mashed potatoes with cranberry on the side. It was hearty, filling, and exactly what you want when you're craving something warm and satisfying. Our server was so friendly and attentive. She kept checking on us and every other table, making sure drinks were refilled and that everyone had what they needed. You can tell the service here really matters. Big portions, cozy diner vibes, and genuinely good comfort food. We'll definitely be back.

If ya like diners and want some good old home cooking and hospitality then Chef's restaurant is the place for you! Running on second generation they carry the torch of providing great nostalgic coffee shop/diner food like no others in the area at great prices, generous portions with super friendly service. Excellent large breakfast menu plus lunch and dinner with lots of daily and seasonal specials. Go down memory lane with this nostalgic wonder charming establishment. Save the diners and coffee shops of the world!. Don't forget to get a slice of one of their homemade pies!

I lived in Arcadia for 30 plus years and I've always driven by Chef's tell myself that I need to try so today was the day that we came to this charming old school diner. There was a coupon in the Arcadia Quarterly so we decided to give it a try. I ordered the Hobo Omelette with bell peppers and my boyfriend got their Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Each plate came with Biscuit and gravy. There was so much crazy. I thought it was soup at first. The food was lightly salted, which is perfect because then we can control how much salt we put in the food. Everything was really good and their service was awesome. They kept the coffee and the tea is coming. If you're looking for an old diner field with good food, give Chef's a try.

First time visiting shift, coffee shop. Went for breakfast before soccer practice and had great service. Staff was friendly gave us a lot of information about the various special. We wanted to try all the basics. So we ordered two budget friendly specials, number one and number two. The portion size for a budget meal was good. We enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back. I love the feeling of seeing retirees enjoying the café/coffee shop dining experience. It was good to see them all laughing and chatting with their friends and family.Food came out faster than I expected. I appreciated the various creamer flavors they had. I have not seen Irish cream and caramel macchiato creamers in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back again to try their lunch menu.

One of my favorite comfort meals on a cold and rainy day is steak and eggs. And one of the best place to fulfill this craving is always Chef's. The steak is juicy and tender paired with O'Briens, eggs, and toast is definitely the chef's kiss. Portions are huge and prices are affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back!

The food was pretty ok, I really liked the French toast but probably won't get the omelette again. The service was alright also, a lot of younger people, they didn't come to refill our coffee or water at all and it wasn't busy but oh well. But over all it was an ok experience, I think it gets a little busier on the weekends as well

Way to support great local businesses who are sharing their passion! Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe is 1 out of the 24 participating restaurants in the MySGV food passport. My 3rd restaurant visited and stamp acquired. Nice! I have previously visited Moffett's twice for take-out only. My most recent visit was for dine-in. Interior has a quaint country home diner feel to it. Lots of inside bench and stool seatings. Desiree was my server. She was exceptionally attentive and made sure I got what I needed at all times. Thanks Dez! Here is their free food offering... 1 Chicken Pot Pie and 1 Slice of Dessert Pie for dine-in only. Wow, that's a great food and dessert combo! Thank you Moffett's! In addition to the chicken pot pie and slice of peach pie (my choice of fruit), I also got their Moffett's Melt with turkey (they offer chicken, too) plus homemade chicken noodle soup (you could get salad instead). Just one word, DELICIOUS! Food came out pipping hot. Flavors were amazing! Chicken pot pie had dark meat which I prefer. Good size and lots of moist and tender chicken chunks. It was covered with too much gravy though. I'll ask for the gravy to be on the side next time. As for the pie, it was okay... too much filling and not enough peaches. Crust was the highlight of the pie... very light and flaky with just enough sweetness! PERFECTION! Moffett's Melt had fresh lettuce and tomatoes with lots of crispy bacon strips and sweet turkey slices... highly recommend! Love the chicken noodle soup... so many chicken chunks! VERY GOOD! So glad I got a chance to dine-in. I look forward to future dine-ins and take-outs. Come check out Moffett's and support your neighborhood's family restaurant!

The food here is over priced and lacking taste. The pastry they use for their pot pies and sweet pies is like eating card board. Don't get me started about their use of canned vegetables and what appears to be powdered potatoes, and if they are not, congratulations on recreating powdered potatoes while using real ones. I'm guessing there are a few nursing home residents who enjoy them. Finally for choosing their restaurant to spend your hard earned money in, they reward you with a 3% charge when you use a credit card, which restaurants have always absorbed as a courtesy to the customers who choose their restaurant to eat at. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 50 years. When you start nickel and dimming your customers every time they eat at your restaurant, when you are already treating them to the cheapest food products, let's face it, are you actually still in business? Sorry, but we are done with this place!

So just an FYI. The location was full of energy and full of customers. The moment we came in we were well taken care of by the staff. They greeted us and lucky for us a booth was open. It's a spacious restaurant for numerous party sizes. We opted to just shared the corned beef hash and eggs. Our waitress was amazing! She even asked the staff to split the dish into two separate plates. Which was a great surprise. The meal also came with bread of choice. The food came out quickly and the portions were sizable even when split into two. My wife and I enjoyed the corned beef hash plate and both of use finished it handily. I'm a sauce gal, so I was super excited when they brought over 3 different sauces/salsas for our breakfast. I love a good tang to my breakfast, and these sauces were their differentiator. Their California Omelette was served piping hot and came with ham, onion, bell pepper, mushroom on the inside, and melty American cheese on top - my perfect kind of omelette. Ooo and their hash browns are done perfectly. Amazing crust on the outside, soft potato in the middle. I would come back just for their hash browns to be honest. My fiancé also liked his Breakfast Quesadilla and was a big fan of their hash browns, too. We were seated in the back in a booth and they have that great 90s leather feel to them. The whole restaurant is decked out with cool art on the walls and funny signage like, "We do not have Wi-Fi. Talk to each other. Pretend it's 1995" hahaha it made me laugh, and I appreciate that in this day and age, esp my generation where we are glued to phones all the time. The owners and managers must be pretty cool and for that, I will be back just for the chance of meeting these cool people. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu. The burrito was fully loaded with tofu eggs, which were crumbly and salted, some buttery avocado slices, crispy tater tots that were fried to perfection, and delectable and melty vegan cheese. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Since there were five of us, we ordered a variety of dishes to share family-style, which turned out to be the best decision. The absolute star of the table was the pancakes--they are truly outstanding! They nailed both the texture and the flavor: golden on the outside, insanely fluffy on the inside, and rich without feeling overly heavy. The waffles were equally delicious, holding a fantastic crisp on the edges while remaining light in the center. To top it all off, the drink selection was top-tier.
