Their salmon comes with a chimichurri and roasted red pepper pesto on top that are phenomenal. The entree plate comes with two sides, my favorites are the Mac & Cheese and roasted veggies. However in the summertime they have a lime corn thats phenomenal! Additionally they have salads, sandwiches and bowls. Plenty of seating inside and outside, during the colder nights & months they have heat lamps on. Their iced tea is fresh brewed, they have sodas, beer & wine to drink.

In the past, the staff would prepare my salad as I ordered, but this time I was told to place my order with the cashier and wait for it instead. I decided to try their seasonal Peach & Goat Cheese Salad and added a side of mixed turkey (both dark and white meat). I requested the caramelized pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and dressing on the side since I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the sweet toppings. The salad looked decent at first, but once I got home, I quickly realized the peaches were old, bland, and completely lacking flavor. It was such a disappointment, especially considering it's the middle of July, when peaches should be at their peak. There were only a few strawberries scattered throughout, and the ratio of fruit and red onions to the large amount of greens felt way off. Honestly, I hate when I can make a better salad at home. Experiences like this are a big reason why I don't visit Jack's Urban Eats very often. On the positive side, the staff were cordial and the atmosphere was relaxed. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations. I'd skip the seasonal Peach & Goat Cheese Salad unless they improve the quality of the fruit.

It is a very casual setup, so do not expect an elevated dining experience. We ordered the FOB shrimp and the Chicken Katsu plate. The shrimp arrived a bit too sour and noticeably greasy for my taste. The Chicken Katsu was average and lacked the flavor and crispness I was hoping for. The macaroni and cheese that came with it was also quite dry, which made the plate feel incomplete. Service is minimal since you order at the counter and pick up your food yourself. I went in with high expectations and left feeling disappointed, especially considering how popular the place seems to be. That said, I am still open to giving it another try. There are a few other dishes on the menu that look promising, and I hope they will deliver a better impression on my next visit.

Honestly, I'm so…read moresad it's been so long since my last visit, because this place serves up some amazing food. The menu changes depending on what they're making, but they have certain items that are pretty consistent. One of those is poke. I LOVE their poke here, they have their own seasoned poke mix with fresh fish, veggies and sauce and it is delicious. They offer it as nachos, a bowl, or loaded fries and while I'm tempted to try some of the other options the bowl is my go-to. The poke bowl is $15 and comes with rice with furikake as well as a good portion of poke. Like I mentioned, it's preseasoned and it delicious. The ingredients are fresh and I love their flavor combination. I would love if the bowl came with a scoop of mac salad, but with the portion at this price I'm happy to add it as a side. I ordered the spring rolls ($4) and it came with five pieces of crispy and flavorful fried spring rolls. Great value for the price. I also ordered the pork laulau ($14) and Musubi ($3) for my husband and the portions on these were also great. The musubi was hot and flavorful and they gave me some FOB sauce with the musubi that went surprising well together. The laulau plate had mac salad, rice, and the wrapped pork. The pork was fattier than some of the laulau I've had in Hawaii, but was flavorful and the whole plate was a perfect portion for the price. The team working here was very friendly and helped me get in and out with my to-go order pretty quickly. The food was packed with care and made it home and was still nice and hot after the drive. They use high quality to-go containers and line them with aluminum foil which is a nice touch. They also made sure the vents were open on the spring rolls so they'd stay crispy. They have plenty of seating inside, as well as some outdoor seating. This restaurant is a bit tucked away, but has plenty of parking. I will definitely be back, and I won't wait as long between visits, because the food is so good! Check out their instagram for specials.

Fukumi can be found in Natomas, Roseville, Citrus Heights, and Folsom. For $20, this had thick noodles, miso broth base, red chili oil, spicy soboro ground pork, pork belly chashu, bean sprouts, bok choy, seasoned egg, sesame and green onion...and a vanilla Hokkaido milk ice cream cone (Orange brand?). Extra noodles and/or rice included. Also, they were doing a Summer Beer Promo deal from July 1st through September 30th where with purchase of any full-sized ramen or regular sized rice bowl, you can get half (50%) off an Asahi Super Dry draft beer which comes out to $4! "This trendy Japanese-inspired creation blends creamy Hokkaido milk ice cream with rich tantan ramen for a unique sweet-and-savory experience. As the ice cream melts, it gives the broth a rich, milky finish that balances the heat and adds buttery depth." I really liked it! The milky sweet soft serve (imported from Hokkaido) was good quality, made the spicy chili miso broth creamy and was a nice balance. You could also probably just take a bite of the ice cream with each spoonful of ramen instead, but I plopped the entire cone in the soup to melt it. When I ran out of noodles, I dumped the bowl of rice directly into the ice cream broth. The only thing of course was that the cone (cake cup) was soft but that's understandable as a frozen item. The ice cream ramen lives up to the hype and I wholly recommend! P.S. If you're only interested in the Hokkaido Ice Cream by itself, it is $3.

After ordering it didn't take too long for us to receive our food. The spicy edamame was good and not too spicy. We love the buttery flavor on it. I had the pork miso ramen that comes with the thicker noodles. I love how chewy the noodles are. My friend gets the spicy ramen. I think a few of her chili flakes somehow ended up in my broth.

It's clean and modern inside, with a nice open feel despite having a pretty large capacity for the size! We got the spicy garlic edamame to start, which was nice and flavorful with the edamame not being overcooked or mushy - this was a really generous portion and perfect for sharing. One of my friends shared the mystery box ($60) and an order of the ocean trout and scallop nigiri which come 2 pieces to the order. All of the fish was fresh, generously portioned, and beautifully presented. My favorites are probably the ocean trout, the scallop, and the salmon. The mystery box with the edamame as n appetizer and 2 nigiri was definitely enough food, but since everything was so fresh and tasty we also got a superstar roll ($22) to share between the 3 of us -bthis was also super tasty and nice to have as it was a bit more flavorful than the sashimi alone in the mystery box (though we really enjoyed the pickled wasabi provided with the box). Overall, Chef Frank is a good option for a nice dinner out with friends and offers a nice variety of good quality fish options!

I brought family in from the Bay Area to Chef Frank's, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance strikes that perfect balance--chill and casual, yet still elevated enough for a special occasion. We kicked things off with a mix of plain and spicy edamame, followed by two orders of my husband's favorite shrimp tempura and three orders of my go-to rainbow roll. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. A particularly special moment--my 88-year-old father made the trip to Sacramento after seven years (his first visit since my mom passed) and he truly enjoyed the beef/salmon bento box. That alone made the night meaningful. We also ordered additional specialty rolls with unagi and shrimp tempura for the non-celiac guests, and for our main event, the table indulged in three large sashimi platters. The fish was impeccably fresh, artfully arranged over ice--this is where they consistently shine. To top it all off, the birthday girls (my sister and my nephew's girlfriend) were treated to complimentary desserts--cheesecake and panna cotta--which was such a thoughtful touch. The ladies paired the evening with glasses of Cabernet, another personal favorite. Overall, it was a memorable night filled with great food, attentive service, and special family moments. Check out the photos--we had an amazing time! Pro tip: Whether you're dining with a small group or a large party, make reservations to ensure smooth seating.
