Eddie was absolutely amazing! He was very kind and patient (and loved my dog). He walked me through what he was doing as well as well as what I would need to do once I started to use my fireplace. Jeremy was thorough in his inspection and listened to my concerns. He found issues with the chimney that the previous inspector did not, saving us a huge hassle and continued water damage the repairs were down quickly and cleanly and pictures were provided to show us what was completed. Beware: this company uses a straightforward scare tactic approach to try and upsell customers. I've had multiple chimney sweeps come and inspect my chimney, all of whom never saw major issues. Chelsea came to clean and inspect and they insisted my chimney was unfit for use and tried to charge me $6,750 to repair my chimney. It's a shame - I really wanted to like this company. They were extremely responsive before I paid them for the job - but after that, things haven't gone as well. I recently moved into a renovated house and needed to get the damper for my chimney replaced. Jeremy came over and told me that they could replace the damper but that the lining also needed to be replaced. He also saw that some masonry work was going to need to be done on the actual chimney but since it was raining at that time he couldn't get up there to give me a proper estimate. However he said that they'd be able to walk me through the needed repairs and provide an estimate on the day that the liner and damper were replaced. We set up a time for that to happen and overall that experience went well. The team arrived on time, seemed to do a great job and cleaned up after themselves very well. Unfortunately for me, the masonry work that was going to need to be done was much more than anticipated. The crew wasn't able to tell me how much it was going to cost or how long - but "Jeremy will call you to discuss it tonight" they said. The evening came and went without a call - as did many days thereafter. (Interestingly, it didn't take them very long to cash the check I gave them). About 5 days later I finally messaged Jeremy through Yelp and asked him when would be a good time to "chat to set up a time to finish up the work on my chimney". His response the following morning was "I have a crew of guys arriving today they are going to build the scaffolding, rebuild, the chimney, re-point and lay the crown". An in-dept description of the work was never provided to me, nor was a cost estimate. They literally planned to just show up to start working on my house - without my express permission. I called Jeremy to discuss further and, in the end assented - but only because I was so taken aback by this practice (and was also at work dealing with multiple active issues). He called me about 2 days later to collect payment for this job. They did their job ... I presume (I haven't been provided with evidence that the work was completed) but since then, my living room constantly smells of smoke whenever I close the damper (even if the damper was left open until way after the fire was cold and even when there hasn't been a fire in the chimney for days). I've contacted Jeremy to get him to help me with this but haven't really gotten anywhere. His last message to me was "I will have to take a look at my schedule over the next week or two and come out to take a look". It has now been over two weeks and I haven't heard anything again. I never got a response like that when we were talking about me paying them - so it's clear to me where their priorities are. read more

flat fee seems to be reasonable and being responsive to my request. Our fireplace has not been cleaned for a long time as what we were told by the previous owner and house inspector when we purchase the house in 2020, a complete cleaning should be expected. Technician seems to be friendly though, he did the sweep from bottom(fireplace) only with brush(about 3-5 feet long) and vacuum, which took about 10-15 minutes at most. It surprised me that they didn't go on roof to give a complete cleaning from top down, as he said he forgot ladder and just did eyeballing check. OK?! Hope it is not in a rush as he said they have been busy on business, and just took the easy way not the right way. Tim and Greg arrived early, introduced themselves, laid down tarps to prevent any residual messes, and immediately got to work. They completed the chimney cleaning in less than 40 mins- including the time they spent explaining everything they were doing and answering all of my questions. Additionally, one of my glass fireplace doors had been stuck closed for over a year. Although my various attempts with wd40 and other products proved unsuccessful, Tim and Greg were able to get it open without a scratch or any damage to the glass. I really appreciated that Eddie arrived early, in a mask and volunteered to put on protective booties over his shoes. He was very polite and asked permission to enter the house. He covered the work area with a cloth in front of my fireplace where he would work, and placed his equipment on the cloth. He described what the problem was, made the adjustment and totally cleaned up after his work. He was also polite and professional throughout the visit and finished his work quickly and effectively. I first dealt with Ross, who determined what had to be done and was so impressed with him that I decided to go with Chelsea and not take any other bids. Chuck and Freddy worked diligently and tirelessly. They moved furniture out of the way and put up a tent around the fireplace. Chuck worked inside the fireplace, while Freddy worked on the exterior. Chuck explained everything that he was going to do before he did it and finished the job in two days and put everything back in place. Then Chuck came back a few days later to apply an eco wash and waterproofing. I had trouble opening and closing the damper, so Ross came back and replaced the chain with a shorter one. Jeremy and his crew did an excellent job replacing our firebox and chimney cap. They took pictures before and after so I could see the work done while staying safely on the ground. They had to work around some odd roof angles but it all went smoothly. They weren't pleased with the way the cap was sitting so they reinstalled my old one and took the new back and refabricated the cap and came out the next week to finish. I had to get my chimney fixed per my home inspection, and like most home improvement jobs I was going into the unknown, and had never even thought about working on my chimney at that. I had a couple estimates by other "chimney" companies and most of them just came in and gave me a number. Fantastic service from Tim and Eddy! They came in (on a weekend), diagnosed the issues with my chimney, quoted me a fair price, and got to work right away. If you are like me, you pay attention to how well companies do the little things. They were courteous, professional, and efficient. They were conscientious and laid down tarps to protect our wood floors and covered their footwear with slip-on booties to limit tracking dirt inside the house. Tim took many before and after pictures (so I wouldn't have to climb on the roof to verify their work) and left me with a detailed invoice.
