My mid 50s single family home has a masonry chimney with two flues... one for the wood burning fireplace, and one for the utilities (furnace and hot water heater). During the estimate, I was immediately impressed that they provided the most thorough inspection compared to anyone else, and then sat to talk to me with a comprehensive breakdown of the options and costs. It became obvious to me that they had experience and seemed more than capable of performing the work required on my chimney system. In addition, their cost estimate was more than fair in comparison to comparable companies. They worked with me on schedules and were quite flexible. The team of workers were very courteous and conscientious of my home, taking necessary precautions to protect wood flooring, stairs, etc. They very patiently and thoroughly answered all of my questions at all steps of the way. It was apparent to me throughout this process that my satisfaction was important to them. This aspect seems lost with most businesses these days. The work performed, and the outcome was exceptional! They provided high quality, skillful work rebuilding my chimney from the roof up, installing a new chimney crown, installing both liners, installing new chimney damper system, and updating connections from my utilities to the liner. As an added bonus, they applied a protective coat to both the crown and to the outside of the chimney, as well as re-caulking the roof flashing. In closing, I feel that I was exceptionally lucky to find and choose Chelsea's Chimney for my chimney work. The draft on my fireplace is fantastic with no smoke inside whatsoever, indicating proper liner sizing. The brick work looks great. There was a slight miscommunication between us on brick color for the rebuild, but they made every possible effort to resolve and seek my satisfaction. I initially found Chelsea's Chimney through a recommendation on the "Everything Frederick" Facebook page. I was searching for a local company to inspect and clean the fireplace(s) at my new home. When I contacted them for the initial call, they were prompt and scheduled for the same week. Upon their inspection, it was determined that one of my chimneys had significant damage and they recommended a full demo & rebuild. Jeremy's initial consultation was thorough, patient, kind, and informative. I asked a lot of "what-if" questions and he addressed each of them like I was an old family friend. Jeremy came out to do the inspection and estimate, and affirmed what I already knew; that it was in need of significant repair, as well as a liner (I have a 1930's era Cape Cod home). We needed to have our chimney re-pointed, but we were also considering a liner replacement and full re-build. Eddie from Chelsea's Chimney assessed the chimney quickly and told us that we only needed a re-pointing (instead of trying to upsell us) and beat the other quotes we had received. When we decided to have the chimney rebuilt anyways, the company gave us a great price. Our chimney was struck by lightning during a big storm and was severely damaged. We reached out to Chelsea's Chimney, and they immediately came out to survey the damage and to wrap the chimney to protect it from further damage due to the rainstorm. Last year our 1956 rambler needed a liner in one of the chimneys. Chelsea's came out and took care of that.They also put caps up for all three chimneys. Unfortunately, two of those caps were sent airborne by some of the 60+ mph gusts during one of our recent weekend thunderstorms and were badly dented. At their request, I sent photos of the damaged caps and they came out the following Monday and replaced them for free. I called Chelsea Chimney as my last hope. My chimney had been "fixed" by another roofing company and still leaked. Then roof was repaired and the leak was worse. Erica, hearing my distress sent over a wonderful tech named Eddie that afternoon to evaluate.
