Super clean and attractive dining room

Food is stellar and flavorful. The service is good and they are friendly. The space is squeaky clean and attractive. You can get some of the best spicy Chinese food in the city here. Highly recommended!

Authentic food in the southwest part of town. I had takeout from here. Deliciously flavorful schezuan style cold chicken that has the aromatic prickly ash peppers. Cold noodles that are mala. Comparable to similar restaurants in Chinatown. I will be back to try more when on this side of town.

Super excited to have an authentic Chinese spot in the southwest! Been twice already and loved everything we've gotten so far. If you like spice/spicy food, specifically mala/szechuan spices, this is the perfect spot for you. Even if you can't handle too much spice, there are options for that too. Most dishes are pretty sizeable and easy to share with a few friends (family style).

Amazing food and great vibes! 5/5 Spicy Zest is hands down one of the best Sichuan restaurants in Vegas!b I've been to in a long time. The dishes are packed with flavor, authentic spices, and served in generous portions -- perfect for sharing. We had a huge spread including spicy boiled fish, dry chili chicken, stir-fried green beans, cold noodles, and so much more. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, the flavors are rich and spicy, and the quality is consistently excellent. Perfect spot for group dinners or family gatherings. Cozy atmosphere and attentive service -- this place is definitely going to be one of my regular go-tos!

When I saw Spicy Zest pop up as a new restaurant on Yelp, I took a peek at their menu and immediately knew I had to give them a try. They had a few of my favorite things on their menu: pork intestines and pork kidneys. Spicy Zest specializes in Szechuan/Sichuan cuisine as a lot of their dishes will utilizing the numbing type of spice. We decided to come for lunch during this past Sunday and was seated right away. Since it was our first time here, we decided to grab a few things to share: Spicy cold chopped chicken - otherwise known as mouth-watering chicken or "saliva chicken." It is cooked chicken doused in chili oil. The chili oil is typically made from Szechuan peppercorn so this dish will leave a tingling feeling on your tongue. I'm not a huge fan of the tingling sensation but the flavors of the dish was decent. This dish is also served with skin and bones. I know some places serve it boneless and I would have preferred it boneless because the bones were really brittle in this dish. If I wasn't careful, I would be biting on bone shards and that would hurt. Stir fried lamb with cumin - one of my favorite dishes and Spicy Zest does not disappoint. There were a good amount of lamb pieces and each piece was plump. Many of the pieces were tender and full of flavor. I know some places will do this dish was sliced lamb versus pieces but I prefer the pieces. Definitely would recommend this dish. Wok fried pork kidney - I have been looking for this dish! I am so happy that Spicy Zest has it. This dish also contains spicy peppers, celery, onions, and some wood ear mushrooms. The sauce is a bit sweet, savory, and a bit spicy but not extremely spicy. Also, no numbing spice. The kidneys were cooked perfectly. They had a nice and soft texture to it. Honestly, if no one told you it was kidneys, you probably would have never guessed it. There is no off putting flavor to it -- flavorful profile is generally very mild and it is perfect when paired with rice. Stir fried pork intestine with pepper - also one of my favorite dishes! I love pork intestine but I don't eat it very often as it has no nutritional value. This is cooked with peppers and onions and has a nice savory flavor. Again the flavor has a bit of spice but not extremely spicy -- no numbing spice. Compared to the kidneys, intestines generally do have a distinct flavor and taste to them. It tastes like fat and the texture is a bit chewy. It's definitely not for everyone. However, I grew up with it and I love it. It is also perfect when paired with rice. Crispy fried rice with beef/shrimp - I was expecting regular fried rice since I wasn't really sure what they meant by crispy. Apparently, they meant it very literally because there were crispy bits in it, which provided a great textural element to the dish. The crispy bits are when you cook pieces of rice for a bit longer to get a crispy texture. It is even better than a regular fried rice dish. It had good flavor and wasn't extremely oily like some other places. Definitely recommend this dish. Service was good -- they checked on us every so often and refilled our waters. The establishment was clean and modern with pretty comfortable chairs. Prices are a tad high but I think it aligns with the market now. Everything is pretty pricey these days. Overall, I loved the food and will definitely be back! So excited that this place is close to us and I don't have to make the trek to Chinatown!

The food is so good here! You do not need to drive to Chinatown for spicy Chinese food anymore! Spicy Zest has all the spicy food option you'll need and it tastes way better than the options in Chinatown! I can't wait to come back and try their frog and pork intestine!

May 2024. Fellow Yelpers that love great Szechuan food, this spot is the real deal. Food is easily 5 stars. Spicy Zest just opened a week ago. The owner/main chef comes from the Hakkasan group and is Michelin level. The dishes here reflect his pedigree minus the pretentiousness and price tag associated with that! Here you get high level exceptionally delicious Szechuan dishes that one would only normally get at a formal fancy setting. Here, Chef Alan brings that quality of dishes to a warm family style setting. So far we have had the frog legs, twice cooked pork and the boiled fish with rattan pepper. All 3 dishes were exceptional. Service is 5 stars. Even tho they have only been open for a week, the staff was on point. Professional, courteous, warm and attentive. Ambiance is also 5 stars. Clean modern vibe yet warm and comfortable for family and friends or dates! Located in a large strip mall with plenty of easy and free parking. For those who love Chengdu Taste, you will love love Spicy Zest! Different level.

Tastes way too vinegary and has a touch of Worcestershire sauce. Very unconventional taste.

I had a friend deliver a meal for us to share on NYE. I also had a hot and sour soup, very watery along with little ingredients: you barely have any eggs, fungus. Feels like I was drinking soy sauce, water and a little touch of vinegar. Snails were the worst. Crunchy from the dirt, I gave it a test by trying to nibble half of the snails but then I found a rock. This is not first time I found a rock in my Chinese food but I was expecting quality food from a raved review location. Eggplant with garlic sauce tasted like straight vinegar or rotten vegetables but it looks fresh to me, just the sauce wasn't fitting. Sigh. Washed my mouth with Soju, I felt I needed a cleansing. The best part was the shrimp but half of it was spoiled and it was cleverly masked by the spices. Yes I saw black legs too. Well, needless to say i will be detoxing tomorrow. Service was excellent by the way but stay away the food. I expected more for the price. In my opinion, the line cook failed the quality control.

New Chinese restaurant opened up in my area, and their food was amazing, service was good and attentive, ambiance was nice and has the Chinese vibe. Definitely will recommend this place to anybody who hasn't visit yet!

    Numbing spices were great.

Great looking menu. Not crowded during lunch. No lunch specials. Flavors were authentic and fresh. Portions good. Prices are not like take out Chinese. Numbing flavors were yummy.

Great Chinese restaurant, warm and family style food with great taste. They specialize in spicy Szechuan style food, but the steamed fish was phenomenal as well. So happy to have another great Chinese restaurant in the southwest area!

The menu features dishes made with unique ingredients that might feel unusual at first, but there's plenty to choose from if you look carefully. The seasoning is a bit on the stronger side, but the food is delicious. The staff are friendly.

Set up was a little different, no carts, but there was a huge counter that displayed a lot of the dim sum...similar to take out counter in a market. They do table service and order from menu. Dumplings like Hargow, and siu Mai tasted a little old. Wrapper dry and filling was denser in texture. Maybe better during prime time or breakfast.
