This restaurant is located in unincorporated north Marietta, near Kennesaw; if you're looking for a decent steakhouse in this area, I give this place a thumbs up. The atmosphere isn't as stuffy or as formal like a steakhouse in the city (e.g., Buckhead), but it's still nice. Book your reservation using OpenTable and get dining points. There's a big dedicated parking lot around the building with plenty of free parking. No valet. We had a party of five and shared a lot of dishes. We had a great business dinner last night. We made a reservation for an early dinner and we were seated immediately. We arrived before the dinner rush. This is a beautiful place. I love the decor, design, and set up. It gives Chicago spot on E. Wacker or typical New York restaurant off 5th Ave. I was so impressed. Our Server, Coco, was amazing. She was reasonable attentive, kept us updated on our order, drinks replenished, and she was very kind. It did take us a moment to get our food but we were patient. I'd return her for dinner, date night, or a gathering with the family or friends. They have a great wine selection from the menu and a more extensive menu than that from which we choose for the sake of time and the time of day. Nice ambience for a Saturday night dinner out. This was our second visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service experience was way below their price level because our server, obviously a novice, was poorly trained. It started with our order of Beef Carpaccio, which she obviously never heard of, so we opened the menu again to point to it. "How would you like your short ribs cooked?" My wife tried to make it clear that she wants them cooked , not raw. "What side do you want with it?" The server still didn't get it that this was not a steak we wanted. We ordered wine by the glass but instead they set up a wine cooler and we could stop them before they uncorked the bottle. The unsweetened tea we ordered came out sweetened. I kept returning it twice for the same reason and finally, more than 15 minutes after ordering the drinks I finally got what I wanted except, the refill came out warm, no ice. This place just never disappoints. From the atmosphere to the service to the food. It's just simply top notch. I've never sat anywhere but the bar, so I can't speak to the rest of the waitstaff. However, the bartenders are great! I've never had a bad meal here. During the most recent visit, tried the Cherokee Mixed Grill. It was perfect for 2 people to share. The setting is really wonderful and has a true ambiance for a nice meal. We enjoyed the mini beef Wellington special appetizer immensely and highly recommend! The prime rib was a little meh as one side was more done than the other. The horseradish sauce with it was way too watery and didn't even have a horseradish taste or kick to it. It has been a while since we had a meal at the Cherokee (Now) Chophouse it was Cherokee Cattle Club. We have been there many times before the remodel and not sure when they joined the Marietta Restaurant Group. It now looks like a steakhouse inside. Very Nice appealing upgrade inside and out! The menu has certainly changed to more Steakhouse type fare. Frankly, I preferred the old offerings. However, in fairness, this now says - Chophouse - and the menu reflects that. Service was very good. Seated quickly. Orders taking on time. Food was served in a normal time frame. Overall service was as expected. All very friendly. Quality of food, taste and presentation was on par with any steakhouse we have dined at. The only reason I did not give 5 stars (I could go to 4.5 if Yelp offered the half) is the pricing is a bit high compared to other restaurants in the area. I wish I could rate Cherokee Chophouse higher. The feel when you walk in is very nice, it's a higher end ambiance that sets high expectations. The holiday music was really weird, it was like kids versions of church Christmas songs, seems like the venue needed Bing Crosby or Sinatra, our whole party noticed. However, our first problem was we had Christmas Eve reservations for 6:30. We were finally taken to our table 7:45. At the 45 minute mark I was told any minute to wait up front. Check again at the 1 hour mark and they had no idea when we would be seated. Over an hour wait past reservation is unacceptable, and it was everyone there. Every group was grumbling and frustrated. I understand over booking on a busy holiday night but this was ridiculous. Once seated it got a little better but still had problems. As for my personal food, I had the a French Onion Soup that didn't come out with everyone else's so I waited while they ate. When it came out it was delicious for what it's worth, but I only ate half because the main course came out so close to when I finally got my soup. They did comp the soup. Bread was slow to come out but good. Drinks were a bit slow and they were just sodas and teas, but they left the empty's on the table creating a clutter where it was tough to find room for everything. I shared the bone-in ribeye with my daughter and came away a bit disappointed. It was a fine cut of steak for sure. But it was WAY under-seasoned and unevenly cooked. Salt would have gone a long way, and I prefer medium-rare, but it was rare at the bone (which is fine) medium rare towards the middle, and medium well for about the last 1/3 of the steak. It wasn't bad, but just underwhelming for an $80+ steak. My wife had the chicken piccata and said it was good. The rest of our party did enjoy their meals which included the filet (she enjoys it well done), the prime rib, and the salmon. We also had the macaroni and cheese and brussel sprouts which were very good. Overall, I don't want to bash the place, it wasn't bad. But for the price, it was underwhelming in both service and food. I did really enjoy my luau ribeye, the flavor was delicious, but I probably should have gotten it medium as the fat wasn't properly rendered at medium rare. State was pretty good, but I actually expected better for my restaurant like this. For appetizers, we had the candied bacon (YUM), wings, and calamari. The wings and calamari were ok. Nothing to really rave about. I ordered an 8 oz filet that came with mashed potatoes. I added creamed corn (YUM but $10?). I expected more flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium) but it didnt have a great taste. For dessert, I ordered the strawberry cheesecake. I was so pleasantly thrilled about my experience here. The night was off to a rough start because I had dinner arrangements prior with somebody and I was stood up. I later found out that evening that I just received a commission bonus at my new job, and it was the last night of Ramadan, so rather than being upset that someone had stood me up, I decided to treat myself and dine myself out. My waiter was incredibly sweet to me, the food was incredibly delicious and it was a nice change of pace being able to enjoy my food and have some alone time in a crowded room.
