Update: the manager, Cassie, reached out, apologized, refunded me, and offered to correct my cut. I went back today and the experience was night and day. She gave me an amazing cut and style and the salon was bright and bustling on a Friday morning. There are definitely some great stylists here, and unfortunately some duds as I experienced last time. Your mileage may vary, but overall worth returning. ---------------------------- I drove past and saw the sign in the window advertising a $60 wash, cut, signature blowout and was in need of a trim so I thought I'd try this out. I called Saturday for an appointment and got one less than 24 hours later (warning sign perhaps?) Walking in I was initially confused because the lights were practically out (very dimmed) and I wondered if they were open, but I saw the receptionist and walked in. My total time in the chair for cut and "signature blowout" was 20 minutes. My appointment was at 1:15, I got called into the chair at 1:20, was not offered a wash because "my hair looked pretty clean". She didn't part my hair or give it more than a very light spray, the cut was over by 1:30, and there was literally no blowout, but a quick curl and I was out of the chair by 1:40. Spent 5 minutes at the register arguing with the stylists who initially wouldn't honor the $60 special in the window, saying it was a mistake and it was $80, then they called their manager who said the large sign in the window was very old and they could do $10 off instead, to make it $70. What? After a few minutes I successfully convinced them to honor the pricing advertised in the window, paid the $60, and gave a $10 tip for 20 min of work the stylist did, and was out of there by 1:45. I was absolutely dumbfounded a cut and style took 20 minutes. I was also astounded that the large sign in the window still wasn't taken down after I left, if the manager was so convinced it was old signage. The trim was basic, the style fell out 2 hours later, my haircut is HIDEOUSLY uneven, and I feel duped and wasted $70. Please run from this place. read more

My daughter made an appt to have her very long hair curled for an upscale Christmas event. Upon walking in the door the dreadful front desk person who was beyond rude and belted out "NAME?!" as if she were annoyed a customer came in for their appt. The stylist who curled my daughters (again VERY long ) hair rushed through and took about 15 minutes to complete!!! She had no care of my daughters request and sectioned off the biggest sections of hair to curl that within an hour of leaving it looked as if she didn't have her hair done at all. It was so bad that I had to redo her hair when we got home. I got my eyebrows done and can't wash my own hair for 10 days since I can't get water near my face. I stopped in today to get my hair washed and blown out, everyone was super friendly and my hair looks and feels great! The only annoying thing was that my stylist was 10 minutes late and there was only one other person in there so it's not like they were finishing someone else. I purchased a Groupon to try this place. On the day of my appointment, I received a call that the stylist had car trouble and my appointment would be cancelled. Here's the problem: 1. This appointment was made in advance and it was for a graduation, so regardless of what event I had, another stylist should have taken my appointment (or you call someone to come in). 2. The person answering the phone, covering the front desk, needs a good training on customer service. If a stylist calls out, you find another stylist who can take that person, especially a potentially new client. She gave me the option of going to Deptford. When I asked how far that was( since I'm not from Jersey), she said 20 min or so but didn't know if that was going towards Philly or away from Philly... really?!? 3. I asked for the manager's name, and it was not given to me. The girl who called me said she was trying to find another stylist and would call me back, but that didn't happen. But you know, social media is pretty powerful, so I will make certain the way this was poorly handled is shared on all social media outlets. I want to like this place. I really do. I love the idea of being able to get my hair blown-out in a cute setting for a set price. (No upcharges for using a curling iron, etc.) But my two visits here have been just okay. Both times they made my hair more wavy than curly, which was not what I requested, and both times my hair was flat before I got to my events. (And yes my hair holds a curl!) I have a few stylist that I absolutely love and I'm always nervous trying someone new but I'm never disappointed! My first time at CBDB was for a blow out for my wedding-related festivities. A friend called to surprise me and pay for my blow out. CBDB charged MY card, AND HER card. When we called to fix it, they said the manager would call us back. Two days later ... no call. We both had to call out card companies to settle the payment. The next time ... I called for an updo for a wedding. I emailed them first, and no response even four days later. I called, booked an updo, and went to my appointment a few days later. NO ONE could do an updo. They offered a blow out. My hair had been washed and blow dried (since I was planning on an updo), but they insisted to wash my hair. $46 blow out. A friend was with me and got NO WASH and style only for $30. I went to get my hair blown out for a special event last week. I have a very slight wave so no monumental task to blow it straight. The sylists washed my hair and blew it completely dry before even picking up a brush. I had expected her to blow dry it in sections as all other stylists do. When I asked her if she would do this, she said "I know what I'm doing". After it was completly dry she used the brush to style the dry hair. This was all done in 10 - 15 minutes and looked no different that every other day when I do it myself. My hairdresser does a much better job and I feel really robbed paying $45 for nothing. I recently learned that the Cherry Blow Dry Bar does much more than just blow drying your hair. In addition to the traditional blow out, they offer updos, hair treatments & extensions and makeup applications. My first experience at the Blow Dry Bar was for a scheduled blow out. When I arrived I was quickly greeted and asked to fill out some paperwork. Then I was taken to have my hair washed (this is optional and an added fee). During the hair wash I was given a look book with different "blow out" options. The stylist worked with me to pick one out- big and bouncy. While I was getting my hair done, I noticed the make up and asked if they could squeeze me in for a full make up application- which they were able to. The make up girl was awesome. Not only did she do a beautiful job, but she was friendly and knowledgeable- making me feel comfortable the entire time. Hair, make up & tip was about $100- this was the "non member" price. If you are a huge fan of blow outs you can join their membership and receive discounts/ regularly scheduled blow outs. This isn't somewhere I would go on the regular, but it was perfect for what I needed it for. read more

Ok so given my one horrible experience here from my previous review, this should be 4.5 stars... But I'm feeling nice! I said I wanted to love it here... As I had for so long.. But getting a bad blowout left a bad taste in my mouth. That is, until I found Gabby who is absolutely INCREDIBLE. If I remember correctly.. She did my first blow out ever here and was just as amazing then. Seriously she's fantastic. I've never gotten more compliments on my hair than when she does it. I had my eye lashes done twice here. The first time was great and second time was horrible. Both were different employees. Second time I did a classic eye lash and the one set on my right eye almost all fell out the next day. I had to use mascara because it looked horrible. I went back to do a fill 3 weeks later and she told me she had to take them off and I had to pay for a full set. The only reason I had to use mascara was because it looked horrible and than I have to pay to redo my entire set? Service is good but S...L...O...W. Short hair blow out took about 30 minutes. Long hair "retro" blow out took over an hour. Full face make-up took upwards of 40 minutes. We had to rush them at the end, because 1.5 hours was not enough to do hair+makeup. If you're scheduling for more than one person simultaneously, Cherry Blow Dry Bar is nearly your only option for hair+makeup, so be sure to schedule in an extra 30 minutes per service. After finding this place on Groupon I thought it would be fun to give it a try. I contacted them to schedule and the receptionist was wonderful, friendly and very accommodating. I then met Rosa, who did my eyelashes and hair and could not have been more of a wonderful, friendly and detailed professional. She made sure I was comfortable and communicated super well. Got a blowout yesterday for my engagement pictures. All in all a solid experience and I was happy with the result. Took a bit longer than I had anticipated (over an hour) but my hair is very thick and I'd much prefer spending some extra time and actually leaving with a dry head. It certainly can be done in 45 minutes by an experienced stylist though. I appreciated that she set the curls with the curling iron so it would last through the night, but I wish she had used an anti-frizz or humidity product as I was definitely getting some frizz and a bit of a wave at the top by the end of the night. Pretty par for the course with any blow dry bar. Entirely dependent on the stylist you get if you don't know who to request. read more

I had a great experience. Arianna was very nice and I think did a good job. I was only in for 20 mins, which seemed a little quick for an updo, but it still looks nice. I went in for a wedding hair test, so I'll probably change up some things when I get it done for the wedding. One thing I did not enjoy, was getting hairspray in my face and mouth. And I got a lot. I have naturally pin-straight hair, and went to Cherry Blow Dry Bar only because a girlfriend wanted to go. We booked together several weeks in advance and asked to be seated together. When we arrived, they walked us through the menu of potential hair styles online. They did explain which ones were done via pin-curls and which were done via curling iron. I went with the "beachy keen" look, and told my stylist that my hair didn't hold curls well. I paid $35 (dry style) plus a 20% tip, and all the curls were gone within 2 hours. I was in the chair for all of 10 minutes. My friend wanted "wondrous waves", but the stylist was insistent that she should go with "big & bouncy", stating that the technique was the same, the only difference is that she'd have more volume at the roots. My friend said multiple times that she did NOT want volume at the roots, and she did not want the stereotypical big pageant queen hair. Unfortunately, that's just what she got, and she was too polite to say anything. She left in tears. On top of it all, we had booked weeks in advance and asked to sit near one another, and they had us on completely opposite ends of the bar. It was only us and 1 other customer there at the time (at least half a dozen chairs open). So much for thinking this was a good place for a girl's date. I visited the salon on a total whim on 9/30. My father has been battling cancer and we last minute decided to move our ceremony up a few days and have a intimate ceremony with our immediate family. Amongst all the emotions, planning last minute hair and makeup was one of the last things on my mind. My brother woke me up on 9/30 and told me that we had an appointment scheduled at Cherry Hill. I got myself ready and was greeted by a beautiful salon and wonderful artists- Jordana. She was like a angel sent to me that morning and made me feel so special and important. She put great detail in her work and made me look and feel stunning! I also found out she does bridal hair and makeup on the side and would HIGHLY recommend her from everything from a quick blow out to bridal glam. I HIGHLY recommend this salon to anyone! I have a monthly unlimited membership and am always able to get an appointment as long as I do it a few weeks in advance. I purchased the package that included four blowouts a month, so I have been there frequently over the last few month so I feel like I can give a fair overall review of this place. As someone else said, I really want to love this place, but just can't. I have had a fair amount of the stylist there and have really only liked one of them. Most of the time, my hair is completely flat within an hour and you can't even tell I even went to get a blowout. I have also given up asking the stylist how really like to have my hair done because they all seem to do what they want anyway, even if I show them a picture. The stylist there are obviously very inexperienced and many of them just have an attitude. I went to Blo/Out in Philly for years and never had such issues with my hair holding a curl so it isn't my hair. The only thing I can really say positive about this place is their hours are great, since they do open at 7:00 a.m., I am able to go there before work. My schedule is hectic and my hair is always a hassle to do during the week which is why I haven't canceled my membership all together, but I have since downgraded my package to just two blowouts a month and unless things change drastically (very unlikely), I will be canceling my membership. Blow out was okay just very hot on my head and had to pull away from the hot dryer a few times. They're going to need to be a bit more professional in there to keep clients. I decided to give them a try because I had a wedding to go to and my hair is about chin length and I wanted to do something besides straighten it. I asked for either beachy waves or loose modern finger waves. The stylist was unfriendly, and dropped the curling iron on me. When she did talk to me it was to complain about a ghetto wedding that she had gone to where some girl was an attention whore. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. After her struggling for an hour to try and do waves of any kind, she declared that my hair wouldn't hold a curl and straightened it and slicked it back, which I could of done at home and saved $40. She then suggested I go to 5 below and buy decorative hair clips to liven it up. Since she had already taken so long to do literally nothing to my hair I was running late and didn't have time to argue with her.
