I booked less than 24 hours before needing help. The first thing I noted was their pricing. Moving is expensive and I tried doing this on my own, but chronic illness made me realize that paying for pros was less expensive than dragging a move out for days. My first thanks is for making this affordable and convenient to book. Within an hour, Kyle had texted me with all kinds of questions and info to be sure there was clarity on the job details. The next morning, I got a text from Kyle and another from Alberto confirming their arrival times. I arrived with a truck and Alberto and Miguel dove in with an amazing display of teamwork and efficiency. They have found a way to maximize their individual strengths to make the job as easy as possible. I paid for 3 hours, but in less than 2 they had my truck unloaded so neatly into the storage unit with room to spare! They were so kind and friendly. At the end I was looking for the truck key and Alberto said they'd unpack the unit if needed in case the key was there. The key was in my pocket, but I couldn't help but be moved by their willingness to undo all their hard work if I needed them to. This experience was textbook perfect! I scheduled Cherry City through Uhaul literally 24 hours before I needed help. I received a confirmation within a few hours. I'm horrible with names, but the Owner was polite and thorough, asking me all the pertinent things required for loading a trailer. They called before arriving, they were polite and respectful, making sure to ask about what needed to go where, etc. I had a one bedroom apartment with a couch, table, chairs, and queen size mattress, and about 15 very heavy boxes. They loaded the trailer perfectly, and quickly. Minimum of 2 hours is required in Oregon- they were done before that. Reasonable rates. Definitely recommend (don't do a last minute thing like me though- I got lucky). read more

I recently got in a horrible snowboarding accident, so I decided to go with movers. The 5 star reviews I read on U-Haul had me sold. This was the worst experience I ever had! We moved our stuff closer to the front for easier access. When Kyle came in with his buddy they were late bc of car issues. I wasn't upset bc I understand things happens. What bugged me the most is when they looked at my stuff and the size of the truck and already assumed it wasn't all gonna fit. I told Kyle it should bc I personally had put all the stuff in the truck moving up to Portland. I told him what I wanted as far stacking the boxes and not to stack things on top of my motorcycle. This guy just ignored everything I said! I didn't like his attitude and the way he bossed the other guys around, the other guy ended up doing most of the heavy lifting. I was also kind enough to go to the store and get them something to drink bc it was humid. Kyle left his canned drink underneath the U-Haul, which was hella rude. I kept hearing Kyle say I had so much shit and being extremely rude about it. If you're gonna complain about something like that say it to my face. He kept having me come out and look at the truck and saying that there wasn't much room. I noticed that he could stack a cabinet I had on top of another. He said, yea but you don't wanna scratch it and you don't have any moving blankets. I said I have a one and a plastic tarp, he rudely said the plastic won't do much. Once he was done, he said he stacked everything he could and even to the top of truck, and that we weren't gonna be able to fit most of our stuff still in our house. Basically when they were finished, my wife and I took everything out and repacked it. When we were repacking I found that they broke stuff! They didn't read any of the labeled boxes. Some said "do not stack on top of this" in bold black letters. They still stacked heavy stuff on top of it. I was able to fit EVERYTHING in my house including the stuff he said wouldn't fit and would have to leave behind. I even had EXTRA SPACE. What was the point of hiring you guys just to do everything ourselves. Kyle just half assed everything. I should of gave kyle's tip to the other guy who deserved it. I would rate this one star but that wouldn't be fair to the other hard working ppl. read more

Believe the 1 star reviews. Do not put your trust in these people. The owner posts his own fake reviews and recruits his friends to make fake reviews. I could not get ahold of the company for a week. The person who texted me said he is having issues with his boss so he would not be helping for my move the next day. I again tried to get in contact with someone. The movers first arrived to the wrong address. They then took over 3 hours to move a small studio apartment and made me pay an additional hour through venmo. They damaged multiple plates, there is a huge gash in one of my dressers, they ruined a storage bag and they left another dresser falling apart. I again tried contacting the only through text and email with no response for days. The owner blamed me for the damages and said he will not refund me because he is having housing issues. I don't see how that is my fault. He is refusing to come to any compromise. He is completely unprofessional and rude. The cost for the items they broke alone were $115. read more

DO NOT HIRE CHERRY CITY MOVERS. I booked three moving helpers with Cherry City Movers a couple of weeks in advance of my move. All was arranged, and Kyle even called me the day before the move to confirm. Kyle tried to change it to two movers last-minute, but I insisted on three (because of very large items that needed to be moved). Then on moving day, Cherry City Movers completely ghosted me. I rented a U-Haul truck, and the arrival window for Kyle and his crew came and went. After that, I left voice messages for Kyle every 15 minutes for 2 hours, and never got a response, and never got a call to say they were late, they were sorry, or that they couldn't make it. Nothing. I had to reserve the truck again for another day and hire a different moving service. Now, a few days after the move, I have yet to receive any kind of response to my messages. To say I am angry and disappointed with the crappy service and lack of communication is an understatement. read more

They did not listen to me when I was trying to explain what was fragile, and then got short fused with me. I still tipped them well after that, and they counted the tip in front of me. We booked almost 3 weeks in advance of the move. They cancelled at 7:40 am the day of the move very unprofessional to leave someone high and dry last minute. The owner was very "whatever" about it.
