This place has the perfect Cobb salad. The bacon was fresh and crumbly (easily broken apart). Plenty of egg and avocado. Generous portions of chicken and greens. Thank you to the cashier who recommended that regular is more than enough for my grumbly stomach and was priced super reasonably to boot (~$8.95). I stopped by here for lunch since I was on jury duty. I actually swung by the 9th floor jury cafeteria and they had a really sad unfresh Cobb priced a dollar more. The 5 minute walk to Cherry Pick Cafe from the courts is totally worth it. You save a dollar and it is guaranteed to be much tastier! As a bonus, I also got a fresh squeezed Strawberry Lemonade and it was the right amount of sweet and tart. If you are doing jury duty at the 1st and Hill, you must stop by this place! I love that this place is not trendy or hipsterish. It is a wonderful alternative to Grand Central. It is just a solid old school lunch stop with big sandwiches and fresh salads. I ordered a large $10.85 Cobb Salad and it was HUGE. Box full of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, hardboiled egg, turkey, smoked bacon, and half of a freakin' avocado. One of the better Cobbs I've had and I've had a lot of Cobb salads. I couldn't finish my salad in one sitting since it was so packed of fresh goodness. In addition, there's a lot of delicious looking baked goods on display I did not try but will when I am in the area again. Service was fast and super friendly! I absolutely hate going to Downtown Los Angeles because of the crowd, the traffic, the crappy traffic, and the over-the-top, touristy/instagram glamour crap going down. If there's one saving grace about DTLA, it is Cherry Pick Cafe. Don't let the small, common appearance of this establishment fool you or tell you otherwise. Cherry Pick Cafe is a gem and it is to be cherished. The food here priced reasonable, but the taste and the freshness of the ingredient will blow your mind. I usually order Tuna grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and lettuce, on the sourdough bread and I'll tell you it is the single best tuna sandwich I have ever had. Some days, I would drive from OC just to come here to get a tuna sandwich and then go back. I also order the chicken noodle soup because I'm basic but the taste is anything but. Recently, Cherry Pick Cafe expanded and now they also run a juice bar next door. You can order the juice from the same side you order food and the staff members will accommodate for you and get your drink from the other side as well. Ryan, who is an absolute charm and hilarious guy here, would take your order with a smile at all times. No joke, sandwich and cafe shops need to have Ryan's A1 customer service as standard. I would have to warn fellow female customers not to get charmed by him too much because, keep in mind, food is the main attraction, not him. I love this place. My husband and I had it for the first time today for breakfast and WENT BACK for lunch. I believe the man at the register is the owner, very genuine, kind, and such positive energy. For breakfast, I had the Chiller smoothie (frozen strawberries and watermelon) DELICIOUS. Nothing added to it, just those two Ingredients. Whatever the proportions of each fruit he used, I have no clue but it was perfect, and I'm not being extra about it. My husband had veggie omelet. It came with a side salad and toast. He said the omelet was FIRE & the salad was too. The dressing was light and flavorful, if he sold it, we'd buy bottles of it no lie. Got hungry a few hours later I went back. This time I ordered a large vegetarian Reuben for the both of us to split. Perfection. Every last bite. The flavors combine perfectly, the bread was toasted, but it was also juicy and just ugh. Every bite til the end I savored. Oh yeah, I ordered Chiller smoothie again; it's so refreshing. Side note: no chunks at all even with them using frozen strawberries. My hubby is picky and also doesn't like strawberries at all and he also loved this smoothie.
