All of the food here is amazing. Breakfasts are totally on point. Had the steak and eggs and it's perfect, juicy steak cooked to perfection, great coffee too. I'd put the Irish breakfast up against any others around. Lunches are delicious too, burgers,steak tips so many good options. One of the best French dip sandwiches are the Monday specials. A great local bar in the Watertown area. It starts with 20 craft beers on top, and a great selection of cans and bottles. There are loads of TVs, so most of your sporting events will be on TV. They have a fairly good range on the menu, some good appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and proper dinners. I came on a Saturday for the prime rib dinner. I could not finish it and had to take some home as leftovers. JD does a great job at this place. A lot of good young staff helping out. i would recommend this place unreservedly. read more

Good local bar if you're looking for adult beverages and conversation all served up by some friendly folks. The restaurant is very community centered and deserves your support. The food I had, part of a buffet, was lacking in quality, but anytime food is left to sit the quality does slip. What I had that was fresh, salad, wings and desserts was good. Attended a large college football watch party event in a private room. We had a range of generations, including a few small kiddos and an absolutely lovely time was had by all. The waitstaff were kind and wonderful! The extensive menu made it hard to choose, and we enjoyed large portions of fresh, delicious sammies and salads. Many awesome draft beer options, too. The steak tips are sooooooooo good. I don't know what they marinade it in but it's so good. The veggies side is a hot mess. It's a bunch of veggies mixed together, me personally I don't like that. Just give me an option of one thing straight. I don't eat cauliflower or zucchini and they have no place being mixed together. I am not huge on pub food, unless its mozzarella sticks and I'm drunk, but I wanted to support a local business during the Covid-19 crisis, so I decided to give it a go. Boy, am I glad that I did... I am not going to exaggerate and say that it was five start quality, but my prime rib was delicious all the same. I told them I wanted medium, and they did it medium, not medium-well, by medium. They also seasoned it up something proper and serve it with perfectly fluffy mashed potatoes. The only down side was that that the prime rib was a tad bit dry, but not break your teeth off tough, just not as tender as I'd have wanted. They serve it with a nice sauce though, and it was still very enjoyable. I also had their fried turkey special a few days ago.Now, we all know how easy it is to dry out a turkey, but this was perfectly moist with the perfect sides to go with it. Lastly, I've tried their cheesecake and carrot cake. The cheesecake was nothing to write home, but my home is New York so I'm probably picker than most about cheesecake. Their carrot cake though was DELICIOUS, I won't say the best I've head but certainly high in rank. Price I paid under $20 before tip both evenings. That's not bad at all for a large meal plus dessert! Service They were extremely over the phone when taking my order and even though it was obvious they were busy, I didn't feel rushed while asking them about their sides and desserts. I have local friends who like to come here for Wednesday night trivia, and this was my first chance to join them here. And really, we'll go anyplace Mike is running Pop Quiz Trivia, but the fact that it's at a place like Donohue's makes it that much better. It's got a nice food and drink selection amid a comfortable surrounding. The draft beer list is pretty standard but reasonably large. I'm not a huge fan of IPAs or sours, and the only stout is Guinness, but I was quite content to have a few Sam Adams seasonal. I think they got a couple of things slightly wrong with our food orders, but nothing super-bad. The group of us ordered food at two separate times, and the people who ordered last got their food first. My dish, the turkey tips, might have been late by being on the stove slightly too long, as the tips were a bit charred and dry, but otherwise still very tasty. Someone else ordered the Wednesday evening special, all-you-can-eat ziti and meatballs, and he was never asked if he wanted seconds - don't know if they expect you to ask for it here, but he was full from the first portion anyway. For mine, I also ordered a side salad as one of my sides, and it was quite a large salad considering. Service was good and attentive. Oh, and we won at trivia tonight too, so watch out! read more

We recently held our child's 6th birthday party in the spacious, covered, outdoor patio (which has fans and open on sides and got lots of good airflow) and it was perfect for the occasion! We ordered appetizers and a Mediterranean platter for the adults set up as a buffet (hot food on burners was still tasty/warm 2hrs later!) and had each child order their own food, which was great, and they served the kids food quickly and fresh! We hosted a Celebration of Life at Donahue's. The owner JD was amazing to work with. He made the whole process so effortless. JD happily accommodated special meal and drink requests. The meal was ready and hot when we arrived. All of our family and guests loved the quality of the food. The servers were also great. They were gracious and quick to anticipate and respond to guest requests! It was easy to find plenty of on street parking in front of the restaurant. My seven year old daughter asked for the prime rib dinner. We've dined in a few times pre-pandemic. Unfortunately, the prime rib special was unable this evening due to an oven issue, but we ended up getting the steak tips, fried pickles, buffalo wings, and fish and chips. Everything, even to go, was well prepared and tasty. Often times, when you do take-out, items are soggy by the time you get home. However, most of what we ordered was still pretty good. Pre-pandemic, I came a few times on Thursday evenings to enjoy a beef and appetizers with friends. The beer is always fresh and maintained at the right cold temperature.
