The lighting is dim for a restaurant and the sitting are has wooden tables. Soon as I walked in a was greeted and sat. We had a lady come and ask us for our drink orders the left. She didn't ask if we were ready to order or if we have been here before. She just walked away and never came back. I sat here for 10 mins with multiple people walking back and forth including the owner. I had my menu here and no one stop to notice or ask if I was ready for my to place my order. 10 mins later I got the owners attention and ask if I can take my order she then told our waitress. The waitress came back and I order the katsu. The waitress asked if knew what it was. Well It's written on the menu In clear details( I knew what it was). I dont just pick some random food item. You can look at it as a kind gesture or as if she was irritated I told the manager I want to order. The food came out separately for my friend and I. Oh CherryBlossom, where have you been my whole life!?? Discovered this spot by looking for restaurants nearby my workplace. Checked it out online, seemed decent enough. Loved the feeling upon walking, very "homely" an authentic. I was confused by the italian/asian menu, but intrigued as well. Should I mentioned I've been 3 times since I first went there only 1 week ago? I've ordered their bento box (which changes daily), a steal at only $10! I've had their sushi twice. Everything is very cheap and VERY tasty. Servers are very friendly and pretty quick. In and out in 45 minutes during lunch. I think I will be frequenting this place very often. read more

I have heard of this place numerous times, and ive been recommended to come here by many of my foodie friends so today i decided to finally make a visit. This may be the first 1 star review i'm doing too. Okay, so i came here with a company and we each ordered a ramen, that is, Cha-shu ramen and tam tam ramen. We each got an appetizer too, gyoza and vegetable tempura. Gyoza was okay, and so was vegetable tempura. The sauces were too watery but i didn't care much because we were waiting for the ramen. Our ramen comes out looking all delicious but the taste was nothing extraordinary. It was no more than just okay. The tam tam ramen broth just tasted like tabasco sauce, and overall it was too sour more than spicy so i couldnt finish it. I liked how it was nicely decorated inside and it surely is a nice restaurant but i think i was expecting too much out of it. In the beginning of the meal our waiter brought a tuna sashimi to our table, which we didn't order, so we didnt touch it but he had informed us he has another dish for us on its way so i thought they had a lunch special or something going on, and because neither of us eat raw fish we just let it sit on our table until we asked for our bill. I was still curious so i took half a bite of it and i was shocked how smelly the fish was, and that was one reason that made me decide to leave a one star review. Never have i ever had fish smell that bad in my life. Although i don't eat raw fish, i know how it's supposed to taste and smell like, but theirs was very very old. If i didn't think that was a free dish, i would have called someone to complain about it. It was THAT BAD. Before our waiter brings our check, he seemed to have realized he brought it to the wrong table and he takes it back to the kitchen without saying a word to us or asking questions, and a couple minutes after he took it to the table behind ours. I don't know if they made new ones or it was the same plate, but i would like to hear what the person who ordered it has got to say about the fish. Mediocre food and very bad raw fish. My favorite about this restaurant was my diet pepsi. I am glad i got a soft drink because after i tasted the fish i felt the necessity to wash my mouth. read more

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice my server was also very friendly. The food did not meet my expectations but it was still pretty good. They had like an asian italian twist which was new and interesting. I ordered the garden salad and the dressing and the avocado was delicious, the tofu yakisoba was okay... and the tantan men ramen was mediocre... although i really liked the soup! read more

Previous reviews make a lot of good points, but I disagree that the food is bland. Try the house specialties, the soups and the spring rolls. I had not been in for a few years and was pleasantly surprised on my visit last night as to how busy it was. This is good value and quality for an area of central Phoenix where good restaurants are scarce. And don't dis the desserts -- they're terrific. read more

For my first review I decided to give my two cents about Cherry Blossom. My family and i have been going to this gem for many years now. The menu reads a little weird. They offer a lot of Asian dishes and Italian classics. It sounds weird but they serve one of the best pasta in phoenix. During holiday period I always buy their sweet bread and cookies. I read the below reviews and wondered if I was in the same place...mumbles the waiter couldn't have been less help if he had stayed home today. The broth was flavorless, the noodles like a pile of jelly. The fried pork was so over cooked I couldn't chew it. Had the Tekka Don and Korean Spicy Beef Noodles. The Tekka don was a bowl of rice, cucumbers, and fresh tuna. Cost 8 bucks, but great contrast to the the noodles. Unclean. The food quality & service has tanked. So disappointing, been going here for 15 yrs. The hostess at the register is nasty and unclean. Her tiny mask is always below her nose, she keeps pulling it up w her bare hands, (Owners needs to get her a proper mask!!!) she handles money, credit cards, stapler, the menus, AND plates rice and desserts with her bare hands. No hand washing. I was seated where I had a view of her area. She's touching everything including her face and handling food. I don't care if she uses a utensil to plate it, it's gross. Please Wash your hands with soap or just don't handle food in any way shape or form. Ah.. The food, not what it used to be AT ALL. :( Meat was cold, tough, the curry was thick, beyond salty, mushy veg. I grew up with Japanese curry and this restaurant had good curry. Not any more! Chicken cutlet ugh it used to taste so good, fresh, beautifully golden crusted moist tender chicken breast perfectly pan fried. Sadly It didn't even come close. I wonder if they are using store-bought frozen foods and heating them up, to cut costs. The food did not taste freshly made. Their gyozas are good, but couple years ago I asked and they said it's frozen not home-made. The waiter was in such a rush, and it was slow! 3pm. I finally got his attention, he says 'give me just a second' then tells that nasty hostess who plays w her mask, to take care of our table. He never checked back on us. She is not personable at all. I'm disappointed, this place used to serve quality food. They took care of their food. And the servers were so kind & friendly. Not anymore. Maybe they are hurting financially and cutting corners and using store bought foods. If so, maybe they should remove some items off their menu. I won't be going back there. This is the most authentic Japanese food you'll find in Arizona. I lived in Japan for three years and my spouse is from Japan and this place has the broadest menu and best ramen. Don't be weirded out by the Italian menu. It's Japanese style Italian which has a lighter taste and unique flavor. The owners are great (also from Japan) and their servers are awesome! Oh, the cakes are also amazing! Not too sweet and perfect to enjoy as a treat. Nothing on the dessert menu is a disappointment! read more

This was my first time here to the Phoenix, AZ area and wanted to try something other than Mexican food. I choose CherryBlossom Noodle Cafe as it was an interesting place and I was in the mood for Ramen. I had the Spicy Lettuce Wrap with Shrimps & Vegetables to start. It was good but I do not see how anyone could eat it as a wrap...very messy (I ended up putting the lettuce in the bowl and ate it with a spoon). For the main dish, I orded the Ramen TanTan-Men. The Ramen, I would have to say was pretty good and was enough to fill you up. Over all I would rate this place 3 stars and I would come back. read more

The food is spectacular! The only thing is because it is such a small place, it's takes a while to get the food out. Another thing is the seating. It is very small so every table is really close together. Other than those two things, cherry blossom is so good! This was one of the few times Yelp has led us wrong. Came here because it was close by & had 4 stars. I will say the service was perfectly fine. Our server was very friendly & even though it was busy, we were greeted at the door & sat quickly. Unfortunately, it was downhill from the point we got our food. We ordered an assortment of rolls & a dish of pad Thai. The sushi choices almost all include cream cheese &/or tempura, which made it difficult to choose a variety without everything tasting similar. The sushi all tasted fishy. I don't think it was unfresh, but it certainly didn't taste fresh either. It was somewhere in between the two...if that is possible. My favorite place for good food in Phoenix. Good parking, great service, excellent menu choices and every bit of it well prepared and irresistibly tasty. This time we added some cold unfiltered Sake to go with a vegetarian roll, seared Pork Belly and spinach pasta with spinach and salmon in a cream sauce. Finished with chocolate, chocolate, raspberry cake...waddled out to the car and smiled all the way back to the hotel. Our server never stopped smiling...we had to ask him to turn up the lights so we could read the menus. He did and when we were finished, turned them back down. My family visited Cherry Blossom for the first time this evening. We were not disappointed. The cha-shu ramen (it has pork and green onions) was outstanding. The broth was rich but not at all greasy, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The portion size was perfect. The best part: it cost only $8. We arrived at 6:15 PM and were seated at one of the last open tables. By the time we left at 7:30, there was a huge line of people waiting to be seated. And mind you, this was on a Monday evening. So get there early and be willing to try something new--they have a huge menu with lots of interesting choices--choices that I will be trying in the very near future. read more

CherryBlossom Noodle Cafe is a charming little restaurant located in Central Phoenix. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. They serve both Asian and Italian cuisine here but I haven't had the balls to order anything from the Italian menu. The last time I ate here with my boyfriend we ordered a spicy tuna roll, spicy pot stickers, and Korean spicy beef with noodles. Service was great and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. First off, the location is cute, and we were given quick and good service from the start. We came here for lunch, and I ordered the pad thai noodles while my wife ordered miso soup lunch special which came with a California roll. Good value for lunch and the pad thai was good, but I wasn't wowed by it. Miso soup was good, hard to mess that up. I would have liked to try more, but I was a little put off by the menu. Well, you can order pad thai, Ramon, and chicken parm? Hard to specialize in a wide variety of food. Again, I think food was average, but it wasn't bad. I've visited Cherryblossom a few times, and my favorite thing so far is the Zaru Soba (cold buckwheat noodles). The noodle texture was chewy and palatable, and the dipping sauce wasn't too overwhelming. It was so refreshing! I also enjoyed the various nigiri and agedashi tofu. Went here with my family over the weekend. Our server was a very sweet lady that provided us great service. She was attentive to what we wanted and commended us for being on time to our reservation. We each ordered different dishes and everyone seemed to really enjoy what they had ordered. The food came out fast which is a huge plus. I ordered the chicken katsu curry and it was very tasty. I liked the radish that came with the dish but it was still missing a bit of a lemon zest taste. I think it would have been better with a side of Kimchi or something similar to it. Last we ordered a green tea mousse cake with red bean filling. Hands down the best green tea cake I've ever had. The atmosphere, the service, the food and the price is all great. I'll follow the half star theme and say 3.5. I had the nagiri sara something or other. It tasted like cantonese chow mein kind of. It was quite good. The waitress said it was very popular. The friend had his "usual" of hakata ramen (the lucky guy lives right across the street). The staff is some of the nicest hosts/waitresses I have ever met. Very complementary, accomodating, did not rush, and they were great about splitting up the check at the front. I would love to try some of their other options. For appetizers we ordered pot stickers...we also got a bread basket. Strange combo, huh!? What I really loved was my entree. Coming from someone whose parents own a chinese restaurant I was really impressed with their ma-bo tofu! It's spicy but sooo good.
