Haven't been back to this place for YEARS. I do not particularly have a reason why this place creeped out of our usual rotation of nearby local spots. But after last night, I think I have an idea. I came by to pick a to-go order around a typical standard dinner rush. The employee that rung me up charged my card and handed me a receipt to sign but did not include my actual card. I signed it and proceeded to walk out the door. I am just accustomed to already having put my card away by the point I am signing the business's copy of the receipt. So in my head, I slipped up and thought I have everything. I proceed to exit the place, walk to my car, almost about to pull away until I suddenly realized I never got handed my card back. So I stroll back in only for the same employee to simply see me, grab my card from wherever she placed it (as opposed to handing it directly back to me the instant she is done swiping it or doing what she needs with it) and hands it to me with a sour look on her face like I'm the asshole. Once she realized that she still had my card, she should have at least made some sort of effort to yell, perhaps open the door and look to see if I'd already left, etc. Even some small or lackluster effort would have been appreciated. No, nothing. In her head, it is just awesome and protocol purposely inconvenience a customer. Lovely. Needless to say, I am not coming back here for a long long time. read more

I love this place. The food is always good. Love all of their Ramens and noodle options. First off I want to start with the service. It seemed like the staff was all over the place not really knowing what to do. It wasn't that busy when we came in so not sure what the issue was. We got seated. Took the wait staff a while to come and take our drink/food order. We finally did but our food took longer than usual as well so that was a little frustrating. We ordered pan fried Gyoza and pork belly to start. Then the Tan Tan-men Ramen and the Shrimp Pad Thai. Our apprtizers took a long time to reach our table. We finally got them and they were really good! So worth the wait in my opinion. The pork belly was cooked perfect. The gyoza was crispy and delicious. We finally got our food after long wait. I ordered shrimp Pad Thai but the shrimp was missing. Instead it had tofu and pork belly. Which I didn't mind because it was still very delicious. Overall the food was good as always but the wait staff and cooks seemed like they were all over the place as I mentioned before. By the time we left, the restaurant was full. This is my favorite Japanese noodle place. Located in a small strip mall, it's a little hard to spot from camelback. Fast friendly service is almost the norm there. Ordered the Nabeyaki Udon. This is a nice little spot with plenty of parking. We went to eat for lunch today and I ordered the salmon cream pasta, my sister ordered chicken katsu curry, and my daughter wanted some ramen. The salmon cream pasta was delicious! Very creamy although I wish it has a little hint of spice. The chicken katsu was also delicious! Sadly, we waited and waited for the ramen only for them to tell us that they ran out. My daughter was devastated. She was so excited and waited patiently bc she loves ramen. We came in for lunch. The place was already very busy. We had a lot of time to look over the menu. We settled on calamari, the tempura shrimp rice bowl and the spicy Korean noodles. The calamari came out nice and hot. The wasabi mayo was not my favorite but the dish was good. The tempura shrimp was also nice and fresh and hot. I think this was the best part of the meal. First impression is the staff is very nice and friendly. I walked in wanting a to-go order and although I didn't get a greeting for a few mins, I was greeted with very kind service. I ordered a standard California roll and a rainbow roll. It's hard to mess up a California roll so it was delicious. However the fish on the rainbow roll didn't taste fresh or have a high quality taste to them. My shrimp was very small and the cut on them weren't very good unfortunately- they didn't fit across my roll if that helps visually. My roll also wasn't cut all the way through so you could imagine the difficulty upon eating time! However, the place was clean and the atmosphere was calming. A bit small but intimate! I'd probably go back and eat inside as well as order something different! For now, 3/5! read more

I moved to Phoenix from the east coast 2 months ago, and this was my first time trying ramen here. I asked my local friend to suggest a place and, although she hadn't eaten here before, she said she had heard good things about it. I got there and wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. The guy working the register was super patient and friendly with helping me find the best dish. I gave him a little idea of what I was going for and he pointed out 2-3 options. I ended up choosing the Tori Nanban with udon noodles. I took it to go, and was pleased to see it was still warm after riding back to my house for 10 min. They also included chop sticks, a spoon, and napkins. The noodles were served in a separate container from the broth. I added red pepper flakes and sriracha because I love spicy. It was out this world flavorful and scratched that exact itch I was having. The broth is warm and comforting while the noodles are thick and chewy. The perfect thing for a Sunday afternoon. I meant to take a pic before eating, but was too distracted by how amazing it was and ended up snapping some halfway through. Had a random craving for pho and found this spot on Yelp. I tried the miso ramen which was so tasty! Like another review stated, they were very scarce with the other toppings. It's been some time since my last review for Cherry Blossom, we stopped in today for and early dinner and it was relatively packed but it seems they may have bought out the Tokyo express next door, and opened a connecting door for more space and seating. They are still following social distancing and mask mandate regulations and I'm okay with that, we respected the mask requirement. We got seated right away and service was fast and accurate. It was reasonably priced still we ordered the following: Drinks: Pink lemonade Green milk tea (matcha milk tea) Appetizer: California roll Meals: 2 tan tan men (spicy pork ramen) The matcha milk tea was delicious and you can taste that they use a quality matcha. We were a big fan of the California roll, the ingredients were fresh and the taste reflected that. The ramen had ground pork not what I was expecting, it was mixed with a vinegary sauce & sesame seeds. I would have much rather it have thin sliced pork or pork belly which is usually what other ramen places use.. However, the broth was very rich and I found it delightful and as well as the bok choy, it was steamed cooked by the broth, very tasty. With all the hype surrounding Cherryblossom Noodle Cafe, maybe I went in with unrealistic expectations and well, it fell flat. We waited about 25 minutes for a table and in the cramped little restaurant, constantly felt in the way of the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. The food looked good, and the menu was varied - you have ramen, udon, rice, and even pasta but when it came down to it, it was just okay. The service was alright, the space a little cramped, and the food, just alright. I had the beef curry udon which I had hoped was udon in curry but it was udon, in broth, with a scoop of beef curry up top. When you're expecting a thick bowl of curry, this was rather underwhelming. The tantan men was spicy, which was what I was hoping for, but the noodles weren't anything special, a little reminiscent of my college staple - cup ramen. We even ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was just five little pieces, not quite melt in your mouth or tasty, as I had hoped. With thousands of reviews and a 4.5 star rating, maybe I'm way off base, walking in with unrealistic expectations but I don't think I'll be stopping by here of my own accord anytime soon. I'm giving this place a '5' rating in part because they succeed at something a lot of restaurants fail at - being good at two distinct cuisines. We had a slight issue finding them, as (for some reason) there are two different 10th streets next to each other (10th Street and 10th Place...who does that?). From the layout (and an old sign out front), it appears that this used to be a straight up Japanese noodle place, where you ordered at a counter. They expanded into the space next door, added more dining tables and a small lobby, and left the counter in the other side for...take out orders? It was a bit odd, but it seemed to work out. We arrived on a Saturday evening after 6 p.m. It was crowded but surprisingly there was no wait. Service was a little slow in getting started but was fine after that. I think the rest of our party ordered Asian noodle dishes. I opted for their take on capellini Pomodoro as I had attempted to order that at an Italian place a few nights prior but had just gotten spaghetti instead. This time, the order was correct and it was really good. Not just 'good for a place that specializes in Japanese food', but plain good vs. Italian places. The others liked their ramen, etc. as well. We also split an order of pot stickers as an appetizer, and those were good also. I'd go back here if I lived in the area. read more

The restaurant did not have a separate line for takeout order and dine in. There was a single person at the cash register doing both takeout and checking in guests. I saw a couple people who got seated but left soon after. At first, I thought they changed their mind, but the problem soon became apparent. I got seated at around 6:30 pm. The restaurant is divided into 3 rooms, and I was seated in the back room, which was also the largest. I saw the waiting staff helping the front room and the middle room, but nobody came back to check on the back room. After waiting for a good 10 minutes, they finally had someone come over to take order. I ordered a milky coke, a tantan ramen, and a side of panko shrimp. My drink came out quick, but my ramen took a long time and didn't come out until 7:15 pm. I waited for my shrimps, but it never came out. I then asked for a check. After waiting for another good 20 minutes, my check still didn't come. I finally asked the waiter again, and he finally handed me the check after 5 minutes. The time now was already 7:55 pm. Upon checking the item list, only 2 items were placed, although I ordered 3. The food also was ok, not the best ramen I had. The only good thing about my visit was that the staffs seemed nice and they use QR code system so I could just scan and pay without waiting for them to take my card then bring it back. It saddens me to be writing this review for a place that I've had super food before but it did not measure up to my past experiences last Friday night. The three of us ordered Cha-shu ramen, the bento special- ginger beef steak and the calamari salad. The Cha-shu on the ramen was very chewy and the broth was okay. The special bento-ginger beef arrived room temperature and to me, tasted like the meat was leftover from the day prior. The tempura was not crispy and it had a texture like it had been sitting under a food heater for a long while. The salad (dressing) was fair but the miso soup was lacking taste. I did like the crunchy roll sushi though, it was fresh delicious! The calamari on the salad arrived hot and crisp over a bed of mixed lettuce with slivered carrots and dressing. Came because I heard good things about the ramen. It was alright but for the price it was decent. We got the shoyu chasiu ramen and it little too salty and sweet for me. The meat was dry, but the noodle consistency was good and bouncy. The interior is interesting because it feels very italian and european, and there is pasta on the menu. We ate out here on Wednesday evening this week, and the Asian older man server came to the table to take our order. I usually get the shrimp ramen but I wanted to try the soba noodles and asked him about a few choices. He was pleasant at first, and he pointed out a fish with soba noodles with shrimp for about $15. I know it's going to be a large bowl of Pho,noodles, some vegetables like spinach and scallions and the meat choice. I then chose a bowl of just spinach and noodles that was $7 instead of the $15 bowl. The man gave me a "mad look"... lips clenched together, face scrunched up, eyes wide!
