This place is overpriced, and for no good reason. I got a flagel (a flat bagel) and a coconut-pineapple juice box. While the flagel was only 99 cents (and not that good I might add, it was a bit salty and hard), the little juice box was almost $2.50! Still, the total was not enough to meet their $5 minimum for debit/credit purchase. So I also got a little bowl of fruit, and my total was almost $8. I don't mind paying $4 for a little bowl of fruit, but I was disappointed when I opened it up and saw that they put only one little piece of mango and one tiny piece of kiwi on top to deceive you--the rest is crudely cut apples and melons and a few grapes. My friend got a small chicken salad and they tried to charge her for a large and insisted it only came in one size when it clearly states on the menu, small or large. Plus it was a scoop of chicken salad (like tuna salad) next to a regular salad, not a salad with strips of chicken on top or anything like that. Ridiculous! Picky about bagels (from NY) and Chesapeake does it the best I've found in the area so far. I normally get a pumpernickel or an egg bagel. I tried their cinnamon raisin but it doesn't compare to what I'm used too. Either way, I enjoy the consistency of the bread; not too bready and not too chewy. They also have great coffee which gives them a leg up. read more

I like the bagels, not love them. I would still go to Einstein bagels if I wanted to have some. However, this place is still much better than Bruegger's bagels (see my review on Bruegger's). I also think it depends on what kind of texture you want in a bagel. Without a doubt I want my bagel to be freshly-baked, light and a little bit crunchy. read more

Still the best... Chesapeake Bagel Bakery was the leader of the bagel craze in the 1990s in MD/VA. As the craze died down and low carb became cool many locations closed down. I've always loved the quality of their bagels and cream cheeses, not to mention the many varieties and specialities. But it comes down to the bagel to keep the doors open. It has to be a quality bagel and that's what this location continues to do. Shout out the pumpernickel , egg and salt bagels. And last but not least the first place I had a pizza bagel way back when and still the best! It's not close by , but I'll still stop by when I'm in the area or make it part of a day plan. read more

The service was amazing. The bagels they have are amazing. This bagel place has it down when it comes to being efficient when preparing your meals and makes sure that the customer doesn't feel out of the loop when they ask for a bagel sandwich. For example when I order a cold cut sandwich they always ask me if I want Lettuce, Tomato and Onion then ask me if I want mayo or mustard. Their are also plenty more vegetables I can pick from like sprouts, cucumbers, green bell peppers, Etc. I had lunch here earlier and ordered an everything bagel toasted with light cream cheese. The bagel tasted ok but the amount of cream cheese spread on my bagel was rediculous. It's nice that they are so generous with the spread but I had to take off half of it and my bagel didnt even taste that great. I was still hungry since I threw out half my bagel so I went back up and ordered the chicken tortilla soup. When I was in line the boy that took my order and charged me at the register didnt look at my face or smile the entire time. He asked me if I wanted it for here or to go and I told him for here please and he said he would bring it to me. Later some other lady came to my table and handed me a bag asking if I got soup I told her yes and she gave me the bag and walked away. So they gave it to me to go when I asked for here so I just took it out of the bag but they didnt give me a spoon or any utensils or napkins at all. I was very annoyed. Then ontop of that my soup was mostly broth with almost nothing to the soup at all and the bagel stick they provided with the soup was bland and stale and just tasted horrible. Ive never asked for a refund from anywhere before but I enjoyed almost nothing at all from this place. The dining room was dirty as well and I counted at least 3 dirty tables and benches. Low quality food and terribly rude and unfriendly staff. I will never be returning here and will be sure to let others know that they shouldnt either. read more

I just went here with my friend from New York. We both thought the bagels were subpar at best. It was pretty clear to us that the bagels were not fresh, and it seemed as though they had been frozen previously. The only reason the bagel sandwich was mediocre as opposed to awful was because the eggs and sausage were warm and tasted good. Now to the smoothies..... I tried the passion fruit/guava smoothie as well as the berry boost smoothie and both tasted exactly like medicine. They were awful! My friend ordered the caramel latte blended smoothie and I'm pretty sure there was no coffee in it. I definitely would not go back. read more

Been getting delicious morning bagels here since this place was opened. This morning I got home, and the plain cream cheese they spread on our bagels was extremely tart and inedible. I could only eat a few bites, and the same for my wife. When I drove all the way back awhile later to return the bagels, the counter person said they buy their plain cream cheese in blocks, and the blocks they have now taste like this even though the expiration date on the block is two months into the future. Beware, unless you like tart plain cream cheese that tastes more like sour cream. read more

Food is very good and this place would easily get five stars if t weren't for the RIDICULOUS ordering and payment system they use (on Saturdays at least). No one is dedicated to the cash register so you might order and still be waiting in line to pay when they come bring you all your food without a place for you to put it. They seem to think this makes them faster or more efficient but it doesn't and it gets very aggravating. I would be much happier to come here more often and give it five stars if they'd just stick one person on the cash register and keep that person there. read more

The bagels are always fresh. There is a rather large selection of bagel, some a bit more exotic than others, but good nonetheless. It seems that they revamped the menu a bit a few moths ago. Would like to see some more healthier options. read more

The service is exceptional and have the tastiest bagels in the area. They recently added a bacon jalapeño cream cheese that is to die for. My usual is a hot italian club, it takes a couple minutes but is worth the wait. Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest so try during the weekdays for a shorter wait. read more
