Terrible service and rude employees. Had to bring my boyfriends mexican bulldog back to the bar because it tasted watered down and all i got was a snooty bartender who insisted on arguing with me about the drink rather than apologizing and just making a new one that literally takes 1 minute to make. Once we got our food the refried beans looked like bean soup the rice had little to no flavor and the waiter dissapeared once we got our food. Definitely not returning to this location. Martha was our waitress, she was wonderful! Very attentive and helpful! Upon walking into this restaurant we waited over 5 minutes to even be acknowledged (there were less then 4 tables full in the entire restaurant) several employees just walked passed us not uttering a single word not even a "someone will be right with you" NOTHING! At that point we were ready to just say forget it and walk out, but I'm glad we didn't, Martha definitely turned out visit around with her promptness and friendly smile! Worst meal I had in a long time. My wife wanted to go here because her and her friends used to go there for margaritas years ago. She said she'll never set foot in there again. Most of the booths had ripped seats, the floors were filthy, and the food was sub-par. My 3 daughters were with us and they described the food as "gross" and asked us, "why did we come here". I hope they put some attention to the upkeep of the restaurant. I feel bad for the people who work there. Save your money or go somewhere else. read more

Great service for Happy Hour on Fridays. Ashley is the beat...always are to be, remembers our "usual" drinks, and is on top of refills and orders. Not all the servers share her passion and flare but Chevys is always the place to be on Friday night's after work. Good food, awesome drinks, and the DJ is off the hook. Had very poor service. Had to keep asking for basic table setting.....server "B.P"....kept passing by......inattentively scooting past me. Not many ppl in the bar area....and there were others helping him to serve the bar area. Then he brought out the tableside guacamole preparation......but didn't bother to ever bring a plate, napkins, flatware.....I had to keep asking......what in the world? I love coming here but that A/C isn't working and it was awful seating in that heat! I couldn't enjoy my food. But my server Linda was and is amazing when we come week after week. Ok so I am so ashamed at never reviewing this place.....I have been here so many times it's crazy. Well I mostly come for Happy Hour when one of my co-workers is in town, they have a pretty good happy hour except when it gets too crowded in there. The service can become very dim, oh and don't make the mistake of sitting way in the back where it takes an hour for the server to get to you. On a holiday like yesterday, is even worse. We sat way in the back corner of the patio which only has one entrance in use. The server for some odd reason kept thinking that he could remember everything we would order which was not a good idea, seeing as we had to remind him of everything he forgot. For example I ordered the new Cerviche salad and it took at least 30 mins for it to come out. Lets keep in mind that you don't even have to cook a salad, let alone a CERVICHE salad, lol! I swear the only thing that made up for this night was the fact that Baby Bash was there. My co-worker had no idea who Baby Bash was and could see that me and my big sis and roommate were excited about him so he went over and brought him back to our table. He shook our hands and personally gave me a hug and then we began to talk about how he used to work for a moving company for 2 days, LOL! Came in for a late lunch today, well after rush time. Service was terrible, took 40 minutes to get our order when the place was not busy at all. Made it through two baskets of chips before the ordered guacamole arrived. I thought the waiter forgot it. Food was sub-par, especially for the price. $70 for two guy with two plates, iced teas, and guacamole. Server never came back after food was delivered to check on our food or order. Paid too much, food was late, not worth the value, and server although personable, missed the mark repeatedly. It's probably a good thing he didn't come right after the food, or I would have just walked out. In fact, I had to wait at the register, where I was going to complain, but it took so long my buddy just threw down his card to pay the bill when someone finally showed up and he just wanted and needed to get out of there. One of the worst over-all restaurant experiences I have had. Literally almost nothing was even average, except the salsa for the chips. That was good. I am mad at myself for not just leaving after the first bite of food. Pretty unlikely I will ever visIt one again. read more

Worst service ever. We were only one of two tables of people there and it took at least 20 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order, 20 or so more minutes before she took our order, and then 30+ minutes after we were done eating to get our check. It was happy hour and the waitress didn't mention any of their happy hour specials nor were they on the menu. Went there recently and it took 2 1/2 hours to have dinner. The wait was supposedly 30mins and every time i went to check, the hostess kept saying "another 15mins" and then "let me check with the manager" and lastly " oh this server is having problems so I'm waiting for a better one for you guys." WOW, such teamwork and support (sarcasm). When we get seated, our server keeps rushing us through without fully taking everyone's order, which took extra time to get out orders done. We managed to get through dinner....by that time, they were closing for the night. What a disaster..... Same for the bar area, there is a male server who is terrible! For one he does not check ID. Just says " everyone 21? Ok good " and probably checked on us 3x. Took him a good 15mins to give us an actual menu. Then pretty much ignores us unless he sees us frantically waving our arms. Probably the worst chevy's I've been too. Small(er) proportions, long wait for not being busy, disappointing service, food not as great as the others. I usually love their fajitas and can share it; this place was small and dry. Even the rice seemed as though it was burnt and dry, like from the bottom of the cooker. Food comes out at all different times (10 mins differences), have one to ask 2 or 3 times for refills, getting fajita and not getting tortillas for another 15 mins, I could go on but I'll hold it there. I haven't been here in years, not since "Real Mexican" restaurants have started to open. So, call it nostalgia, but I wanted to have some fajitas before this place closes down like several others in the region have recently. That's where the fun begins. I called in an order and was told 15-20 mins. I left the house about 15 mins later and arrived to find that they had not even started my order. I wasn't real happy, but given he financial situation of this place I could understand why they wouldn't start a meal until someone showed up to pay. 20-30 minutes later, the food comes out. By this time, I'm so pissed and hungry that I pay and leave without checking by bag. I consider this my fault, what else would I have expected. When I got home, the food was ICE COLD, and I mean refrigerator cold. To top that off, there were NO tortillas in the bag for the fajitas either. Over all, a terrible experience! This is my 2nd and last trip to the restaurant. I had a impromptu business meeting that hit at lunch time, there were only 5 of us...and we were there before lunch (11:45am) and where we wanted to eat was packed. It started out bad from the minute the hostess greated us, after asking us how many...her ADHD kicked in...she started a conversation with a co worker...we had to remind her we were there for lunch... Seated at a table that had seen better days, it tilted to one side ..it got worse after the food arrived... When the food did come , it basically came in 2 shifts..3 people got thier food, the other 2 about 10 mins later...using proper manners we waited for the others food to arrive before we started to eat. When the other 3 began to eat...you guessed it thier food was cold... Several months ago Chevys started taking reservations on Open Table. I made reservations for 4 at the Fairfield location. When we arrived neither of the 2 hostesses had even heard of Open Table. They had to go to the manager to see what to do with the reservations that I showed them on my phone. Definitely a lack of training on Chevys part. I've been to Chevys many times at several different locations over the years, including their very first one in Alameda 20+ years ago. Over the years the food has been all over the map. From very good to pretty bad. This visit was on the not so good level. Their chips are amongst the best and the salsa is pretty good. Unfortunately that was the high point of the meal. We ordered the fajita nachos as an appetizer and the chips were soggy and chewy. Not enjoyable. I had a chicken burrito that was almost chicken-less. The rice and beans were barely warm. I cut it open and ate it with a fork, just to look for the chicken. Another party had the chile relleno. The crust was thicker than the chile and not a lot of flavor. The other 2 at the table ate their food but just thought that everything was "OK". Our server was pleasant but the service seemed rather slow on a night when the restaurant was not very busy. On the positive side the Cadillac margaritas are pretty good. read more
