    Cheddar bay biscuits

Came in on a Wednesday dinner around 7PM for a table of 2. It looked semi busy inside but we were seated within 5 minutes. We were waiting to order for about 10 or 15 minutes, but a waiter later came by and apologized for the wait, explaining that no one had been assigned to serve our table. He offered to cover an appetizer for free for the wait, and then immediately brought fresh bread and our waters. Our food came pretty quick, and the lobster dip was good for being free, but for $17 I would probably have skipped next time. It was still a nice gesture that it was provided free due to the wait though. We got the viral crab boils and ordered one of the mariners and one of the Sailors boils in Cajun butter. They were a bit pricey (we are technically in the Bay Area) but comparatively it's a good deal because it comes with a lobster tail and snow crab legs. Our waiter also brought out cups of butter when we asked. For two people, I think just ordering the mariners boil could have been enough. Our food was well seasoned, especially the sausage. The corn could a bit more seasoned though. Our waiter let us know the bags had to be shaken and served to us at the table, but the bags are hot so it was totally fine and he didn't need to do it for us! The food also came with crab leg crackers, an extra plate, a fork to scoop out crab meat, and bibs. We were allowed to bring our leftovers home, requested more biscuits to take home, and got our receipt fairly quickly after requesting it. The restaurant was also clean, gave a calming muted vibe, and there was light music playing. Our server was the best part of the experience. He apologized for any inconveniences, was quick to remedy problems, helpful, and overall kind. He also let us know that he was waiting for fresh bread to get to us. I'm sorry I couldn't remember his name, but would recommend getting him as a server if possible!

Always enjoyed coming to this location. Great service!!! They are consistent with their food presentation and delivery of food. Although the complimentary biscuits do seem a bit smaller. Tables are available for small or larger groups. Tried the seafood boil bags and it was average- but a nice addition to their menu. The bags are generous for one person. I can have the bag all to myself. Prices are reasonable... for two people can easily spend over 150.00

I'll give this place 3.5-4 stars! I've gone to this location a couple times throughout the years of living in Fairfield and I really have no complaints about the food or cleanliness. The service is not too bad, when I went recently our server just took way too long to check back with us when we were ready to pay and leave. We ordered the mozzarella sticks which were cooked perfectly and had a good cheese pull. I ordered the mariners seafood boil with butter garlic sauce and I really enjoyed it! I'm a sucker for seafood boils. My husband ordered the Friday special which were the fish n chips with coleslaw and fries. The fries were good, the fish was not bad, but the coleslaw was terrible and bland, and I usually like coleslaw!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo -- creamy, tasty, and exactly the same at every Red Lobster on Earth. No surprises, just comfort food and that legendary cheddar bay biscuit stealing the show (as always).

    She's great

Kathleen was amazing! Probably the best server I've ever encountered! She steady kept checking on us and was overly attentive! Service to me is everything! Old fashion was great and food was good but she made the lunch!

Stop by Red Lobster for lunch and decided to go with Crab Carbonara and a Caesar Salad and my wife selected the Sesame Salmon bowl. From entering the front door it was clean and you see the bar with plenty of options for alchohol and drinks. We were greeted about 5 mins later and seated around 10 minutes. The waiter was nice and had biscuits ready and water while taking our order. Caesar Salad was the first to arrive and a bit overdressed to my liking but I was hungry and lived with it and at the end of day it boils down to preference. Shortly after the rest of food showed up. My wife was very happy for her Sesame Salmon Bowl everything was fresh the Brussels sprouts compliments the Salmon real well and taste great. My Crab Carbonara was creamy rich with a mild taste of crab. I wish it had more crab meat but it worked. I took most it home and ate it as leftovers. Overall experience good and depending on what you order can be pricey but at least it's local.

Sesame-Soy Salmon* Bowl was quite good!

My parents took me here for a birthday lunch and while the service was a bit slow, I gotta say I was sort of impressed. The salmon salad I got was very good and filling. The biscuits are still super good too. Service was still cool regardless of how long it took to get our food, and the place was clean. I may have to drop by again sometime and maybe just get some to go to try a few more things off the menu.

Walking through the door and being greeted by the beautiful woman at the front of house was a good start to a Sunday brunch date with my husband. They were happy to see us come through the doors and excited to get us started, exploring the well done menu with speedy service. The dinning floor is small but they are new and just starting, I see nothing but potential growth here. We barely made it for their chilaquiles before the kitchen switched over to the lunch menu. Hand Slam Fantastic dish. Chilaquiles is one of my husband's favorites and Oaxaca did NOT disappoint. In fact, they hit it outta the park, for both of us. This is a dish you will crave going forward, a dish that pops in your head and will sit there till satisfaction comes in the form of a beautiful Latina woman sliding this crispy, saucy, perfectly fried, artfully crafted yet simple dish in front of your readied fork and knife. I couldn't finish all of mine, I was Full yet, I couldn't seem to put my fork down. It stayed ready in my hand because giving up on this dish seemed sad and wrong. I ate as much as I could before conceding. We will be back and I will be diving into that lunch menu soon. Great Job guys!

Super personable, great energy, and made the whole experience feel effortless. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly burger--smash-style patty with bacon, peanut butter, jelly, Tabasco, and pickles--and wow... one of the most unique and satisfying burgers I've had in a long time. It hits that perfect balance of savory, sweet, and nostalgic. I asked Paul what he would pair with it, and he absolutely nailed it. He introduced me to "Chimp My Ride" from Solano Brewing Company, a rich stout with chocolate and peanut butter notes that complemented the burger perfectly. It honestly brought back that childhood lunchbox feeling in the best way possible. On top of that, Chef Jamie personally brought out the food and took the time to connect--great conversation, great presence, and you can tell there's real pride behind what they're doing here. The vibe, the style, the food, and the people all come together here. Easy five stars. I'll definitely be back.

Within minutes, I knew I'd found exactly where I wanted to spend a hot summer afternoon. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between neighborhood tavern and craft beer destination. Vintage bicycles hang overhead, dozens of rotating taps line the wall, and the energy is lively without ever feeling chaotic. Whether you're catching the match, meeting friends after work, or simply escaping the summer heat, Rustwater has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay for another round. Following the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the Chicken Ciabatta from the specials board with a side of crispy tater tots, and it was absolutely the right call. The sandwich arrived beautifully presented on a perfectly toasted ciabatta roll with just the right amount of crunch. Inside was juicy grilled chicken layered with smoky bacon, melted provolone, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and a flavorful pesto mayo that brought everything together without overpowering the fresh ingredients. Every bite delivered a wonderful combination of textures and balanced flavors. The tater tots were exactly what great tavern food should be, golden, crisp, and light on the outside with a fluffy interior. They became downright addictive when dipped into a combination of ketchup and a Ghost Hot Sauce that once they are out they are out adding a slow-building kick that complemented the crispy potatoes perfectly. As I enjoyed a cold pint from their outstanding rotating tap list, Spain put the finishing touches on a 2-0 victory over France, sending them to the World Cup Final. Great soccer, an exceptional craft beer, and a fantastic lunch, it doesn't get much better than that on a scorching summer afternoon. Rustwater has earned its reputation over the years, and it's easy to understand why. Friendly service, an outstanding craft beer program, elevated tavern food, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger long after the final whistle. If you're looking for one of downtown Fairfield's best spots to enjoy creative tavern fare, explore an ever-changing lineup of craft beers, and catch the big game, Rustwater Kitchen & Taproom deserves a place on your list. I'll definitely be back to see what's on tap next, and without question, those crispy tater tots will be making another appearance on my table with the ghost hot sauce, if still available, due to the company going out of business.
