I asked if it was a bar height table and I pointed to a regular table and got more attitude. Not sure why the host was so pissed off. The pros: Smothered Burrito was good Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas really good Sweet corn tomalito pretty good The cons: -Service was terrible -The chips and salsa were not good -Salsa has no flavor at all except a hint of liquid smoke taste -The queso came out cold and still solid in the middle (hello, Velveeta) -the side of sautéed green beans and squash (why!?) that comes with the chicken enchiladas were cold, swimming in olive oil and way too much oregano. They were truly terrible -rice was cold and hard -the side of black beans were hard and had a distinctly alcoholic taste to them (tequila?) The main entree portions of the meal were great and at the right temperature. The cold and gross sides really dragged down what could have been a great meal. I won't come back here. The food temperature was way off and overall it was not a pleasant experience. I was very disappointed, particularly for the price. This was the first time we had been to this location. read more

Their COVID-19 precautions are a joke, we went there based upon their YELP comments that the employees wore masks and that they had safe hygiene.... when we walked in the door we quickly noticed that not only none of the employees (hostess and servers) were wearing any type of face covering but neither were any of the patrons in the lobby or restaurant...so if you want t risk it, go ahead and eat here...but obviously we walked out. read more

My wife and I went and ate here last night. Both got the same thing. She ordered the carnitas chimichanga and I had the beef chimichanga. Food was alright and salsa was good. Well about two hours later at home we both got seriously sick and we're both throwing up and among other things in the bathroom all day. Chevys is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Sioux Falls! Their menu is great to choose from if you are a fan of Mexican food. For sure, my favorite meal there is the Crispy Chicken Flautus. You will not be disappointed if you order it. They bring fresh chips and salsa out before your meal that is to die for. Don't forget to ask for the red salsa as well! Even two stars is pushing it... first off the positive. Environment was great clean music was not to loud. Our waitress Kaylie was wonderful she was upbeat and just wonderful very happy with her. The food in the other hand extremely blah the chicken had no flavor the chips were good very light and crisp! The rice tasted like it was mixed with spaghetti sauce not good. This place is delicious. We go whenever we are in town. The free chips & salsa you get at your table is the best of any Mexican place I've ever eaten at. The chips are light and very thin and the salsa is AMAZING. If they sold it in bottles, I would buy 5 every time I came here. I've had several burritos and enchiladas here and all were fantastic. The habernero pesto cream sauce is to die for! They have it on several different menu items and I always ask for extra. All you can taste is the chili gravy on the burrito the taco was cold to the touch and the salsa is the worst I've ever had. I'm in town on business and I arrived on a Sunday evening. After driving around for a little bit I seen this restaurant that was close to my motel. It appeared to be one of the only restaurants in town that had a lot of cars in the parking lot. It was not very busy, which I would not expect on a Sunday evening, I was seated and waited on almost immediately. The salsa was alright, the service was excellent. I ordered the sampler to widen my experience. Let me add that I am a 6'4", 225lbs man that very very rarely leaves anything on his plate. The food was excellent and I did not even use any of the sauces that were offered. I was able to finish about half the meal and for the first time in a long time, I had to ask for a to-go box. The service was friendly the food arrived promptly and tasted excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone. Especially if you like meat. LOL read more

This was without a doubt one of the most disgusting meals I've ever eaten. Shrimp tacos had no flavor except for a mayonnaise dressing. Tomatoes and lettuce were of Taco Bell quality. I don't know what is "Fresh" in their fresh mex. What a joke. read more

I just had a really nice experience today at this Chevys. My mom and I are driving cross country and needed a place to chow down....real bad. This place had a really great bartender from whom I ordered a big tostada salad, with many modifications since Im gluten free and dairy free. Chevys is one of my favorite places to eat in Sioux Falls. I love the chips and salsa! The fajita burrito is my favorite thing to order. If your meal doesn't come with a corn tomalito, order one on the side because it's very good. Service was great. I went with a family of six, two adults and four kids. Our hostess was great with the kids and met the booster and high chair needs right away. We have not been to Chevy's for awhile due to moving out of state. Last night we went with a large party we had 20 people and were told an hour by Ava. There was a male manager i couldnt catch his name he had short hair with a lighter shirt on at the host stand, you can tell he was not in a good mood, didnt smile, rolled his eyes and talked to the hosts very disrespectful. The hour we were quoted went way longer. Then another manager named Sam stepped in when she appeared at the host stand she apologized several times and requoted us when i asked her about our table she kept us updated and was sometimes running around trying to figure it out for us as well as many other tables. As i sat and watched the hostess they were not seating many tables at all until she appeared she ran through alot of tables to be sat very quickly. Once she had some tables she was able to get us sat and again apologized. We had 2 servers Cassie and Taylor they were great! They were on point with what we ordered and were fast especially with such a large party. Our checks were correct and we had no issues which i cannot say for other restaurants. Food was amazing as always the flautas are my absolute favorite. While we were eating Sam stopped by to make sure everything was good. She went above and beyond, we as a group have not had that much attention from a manager and that made us all feel that we were welcome and not a "oh great its just another big party" we also had a different manager named Connor stop by and cleared a few plates and helped deliver food. we appreciate Sam, Cassie, and Taylor thank you all so much! read more

Amazing time at Chevy's until about 50 minutes into our Easter brunch, we were told that we have 5 minutes left because the next reservation was waiting for our table...never, ever have we been told that we needed to leave because another reservation was waiting....mind you, the manager told the server to tell us because he didn' t have the courage too...My husband called him over anyway and i have never seen husband so upset....then my son throws his plastic fork and rips into him too....horrible service, horrible manager, horrible customer service....i will never recommend this place again!!!!!! read more
