This place was our first meal in Paris and we were mesmerized by French cuisine. I highly recommend making a reservation if you do not want to miss a chance to dine here.
Luckily for us, we eat early so the restaurant wasn't so full, though soon after we were seated it got pretty packed. Restaurant is located on the outskirts of the city and sort of in an alley type of location. It offers limited balcony seating and pretty big indoor seating compared to most restaurants in Paris.
When we first walked in, there was a lot of asian tourists, which made me uneasy as it can either mean 2 things; A tourist trap or genuinely awesome place. Luckily, it was the latter. Despite all the English speaking tourists, the staff was very friendly and spoke English. Of course, have manners, and ask if they speak English in French first. Oh, and they were also super accommodating in helping me charge my cell phone as well. Extra points for that, cause you know phones are our life line.
For our appetizer, we started off with tuna carpaccio, which was just perfectly fresh, sliced, and seasoned with their tangy sauce. For entree, I had the seafood platter, Polee de fruits de Mur. Ummmmmmm... the best seafood platter ever! All the seafood was perfectly cooked, just right, that it wasn't raw or rubbery like when you overcook it. On top of that, tomato based sauce and voila, a pasta like dish, but without the carbs. My bf ordered the escargot pasta, which is a must in Paris. It was my first time eating escargot and it was a good experience. Pasta was pesto based and on top, truffle escargot as the protein of the dish. The taste of escargot wasn't masked, nor highlighted. It was a good balance of flavors and introductory to escargot.
Lastly, for our dessert, we had their rich, heavenly chocolate mousse. Just to warn you, the images in Yelp is misleading. You do not get the whole bowl, unless I guess you have enough people in your party or ask nicely to take a picture. In reality the bowl is size of a basin and they charge you by the scoops. Don't get too greedy like us and overstuff yourself with 2 scoops because 1 is enough for 2 people, and definitely don't miss out on your chance to try this either.
Hands down, this place was the best meal that we had in Paris! read more
