I was also not informed beforehand that the procedure would be done by a general dentist rather than a pediatric dentist. In addition, I had only been informed about nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") for sedation. Oral midazolam was not discussed with me in advance, and I only learned about it when I specifically asked what medications would be used. As a parent, I believe clear communication and informed consent are extremely important, especially when sedation is involved. I decided not to proceed with the procedure because I did not feel adequately informed and it was not communicated that the dentist performing the procedure will be a different one that performed initial evaluation.

Previously, I avoided the dentist like the plague due to negative experiences, but Dr Molato changed that. She is kind, funny, nonjudgmental, always positive, and knows how to give a painless shot!!! I have been a patient for twenty years, and in the last month, I have had to reschedule two appointments due to long wait times (30 then 40 mins). Their most qualified and efficient hygienists have retired or moved on. The kiosk check-in system is also faulty and does not always go through to the front desk, so they think you're late or a no-show unless you speak to the receptionist. There is also now a host standing by the kiosks... why? I am disappointed because I pay for PPO just to continue going to CD. I vote for them for Bakersfield's Best every year. Days before your appointment, the office sends a text to complete your pre-appt paperwork and you can also e-check in days in advance. My dentists have changed a couple of times since being a patient here. But that's expected of dental practices nowadays. Once thing that's been constant here is my hygienist, Kandyce Fillmore. Kandyce has always been thorough and patient when rendering my teeth cleanings. She goes in detail about any issues and treatment plans before charging you. Very sad that adoctor would treat someone so poorly and offer no explanation.
