I've been a patient at Adept Dental Group for 5 years now. I initially went to Adept because I was following my favorite dentist of all time, Dr. Hendricks! I was so happy when I started to see some other familiar faces showing up at Adept who also worked at the previous practice. From the front office staff, shout out to Monica! To the hygienists, shout out to Becca! And all the amazing office staff, seriously I've never had a bad experience. The office is clean, comfortable and well equip. And seriously, they are all so kind. They offer an array of services from exams, cleaning, fillings, bite guards, whitening, crowns, braces/invisailgn all the way up to implants. I haven't experienced all of their services yet, but every time I've had any work done, it's always with out a hitch. I have full confidence that their expansive and educated team will be able to serve all my dental needs well into the future. When the need arises for something complicated, I know I will be in good hands. I can't say enough wonderful things about Jessica, my dental hygienist. She has completely transformed my view of going to the dentist. I used to absolutely dread my dental visits because of my sensitive teeth and some rough experiences in the past. But Jessica has made every single visit a breeze. She's incredibly gentle and really understands how to make things comfortable for someone with sensitivity issues. She's also just a joy to chat with, always friendly and understanding. I've been a patient of Adept Dental for some time now. I came over as Dr. Slaughter moved offices then when he left, I stayed and started seeing Dr Mortensen and I have had excellent experiences for all these years until recently. Recently it seems the office has changed their priorities from patient care, and seems to be transitioning from a customer based personal experience, to a business model. I've had some unpleasant experiences with the office manager, it seems to have began when I questioned how they were billing and coding my dental services, as I was paying more out of pocket. The office manager is not very personable and sits in her corner office very smug. I am contemplating on changing offices after all these years due to my experience with the office manager. read more

It was my first time at adept dental. Let's just say I won't be leaving anytime soon. I finally found a dentist and dental office that checks all the boxes for me. The second I walked into adept I was greeted by the smiling ladies front desk. The office itself is very clean and conveniently located. The wait was short and I was called back what felt like immediately, the assistant and dental hygienists were so inviting, sweet, and seemed to be very caring. I cannot say how pleased my husband and I have been with Adept Dental. Dr D. is amazing. He is kind and patient and has cured me from my long time fear of dentists based on a bad experience when I was younger. Michael was very knowledgeable and professional when fitting me me for a cap. Delia and Christy are fantastic hygienists! The best! They are both very gentle and have always been considerate of my initial anxiety. Now, I no longer need my gums to be numbed because I have been going on a regular basis and my mouth is healthy and my anxiety is gone! Thanks to this incredible team!! Adept Dental Group in Bakersfield, California has a dentist who touches patients' bodies. In the exam room, Misty J. Hendricks, D.D.S. laid her bare hand on my bosom. Misty J. Hendricks's brute assistant (assistant wouldn't provide her name) ripped my dental bib off of me so violently that she caught some of my long hair and yanked it from my scalp. I told these two aggressors to stop their abuses against me and that I'm reporting them. In malice, Misty J. Hendricks's brute assistant spewed, "Have a nice daayyy!" in a sing-song voice to taunt me. read more

I've been coming here for several years. The hygienists are professional. Dr Mortensen is the dentist whose always seen me after I'm done with my hygienists and he's very personable. My most recent visit I was a little uncomfortable with how they handled the waiting room in light of COVID-19. There was no noticeable effort to ensure people were not sitting next to each other. Additionally, they've begun charging an additional fee for PPE, however, the staff was not uniformed any differently than any other appointment. I have been happy with my care overall and will most likely return. read more

I took my daughter in to see Dr. Beemer who is supposed to be a pediatric dentist. I did try to reschedule her apt because she had been getting over a throat infection but they said she would be fine. During the exam she was apprehensive (due to her throat infection, being worried they would touch her throat) and therefore he refused to do the work she needed done. I asked if he would consider seeing her again once she was not sick anymore, and reconsider doing her work. He refused and said she needed to be sedated due to her apprehensiveness and referred us to someone else. A week later, once she was better, I took her to another pediatric dentist where she had no issues and they will be doing her work. I do not understand why Dr. Beemer is a pediatric dentist if he has no patience for children and is not understanding if a child is sick. read more

Dr. D is a godsend. After my horrific experience at riverlakes dental, I was absolutely terrified to return to any dentist, however I needed to find one to fix riverlakes mess ASAP. My boss recommended this place. I was a shaking crying wreck when I walked in to consult with Dr. D. I told him about my recent experience, and he listened to everything. He thoroughly reassured me through the whole thing. He explained that they had many options when it came to anesthesia and pain/anxiety management. He guaranteed that they would not work on my teeth unless they were completely numb. We set up an appointment a few weeks out (had to let my mouth heal before he could do anything). The appointment went flawlessly. Other than some pressure from the first shot of anesthesia (he uses the tiny needle - it takes longer to administer, but you barely feel even a little teeny poke), there was absolutely no pain or discomfort. Dr D and his assistant, Michael, were awesome. Extremely attentive, caring, gentle, understanding and funny. I have been here 4 times now to get the previous dental work repaired, the work they do is excellent, everything has been completely pain free, the staff is awesome... There is not a single subpar thing I can think of about this location. If I were to move out of town, I would travel back here for any dental work I might need. Unfortunately they don't take the insurance I have now, but I'm more than happy to pay the cost until I can change it. They are 100% worth it. read more

Dr. D and the staff here are amazeballs!! They make you feel so welcomed and comfortable. I moved back to this office coming from an office in shafter. I went in today to fix some old fillings that I've had for years! Dr. D assured that I knew every step he took and that I was comfortable. I barely felt the needle that he used to numb me. As he started working he kept asking if I was ok or if I was in any pain. I did feel something (not pain) but he wanted to make sure I was ok so he numbed me a little more. Omg he was quick and I could have totally fallen asleep in the chair. I was very happy with the results! I had silver fillings and to my surprise her replaced them with white so you can't tell that I even have filling. Best feeling he could have given me today!! I went to dr.d per the recommendation of my sister in law. I have terrible dentist phobia, but they got me in right away (no anxiety sitting in the waiting room), and the receptionists, dentist assistant, and dentist were all comforting and friendly. I was there for a dental emergency. During the procedure they told me what they were doing and how much longer it would take. I liked being kept in the loop. I will report back once I go there for routine visits. I recommend Dr.D, as that's who I saw and was recommended to see. He was great! read more

Adept Dental gave me an estimate for some major work. I told them I wanted to do half now (November) and finish it in January when I would have less out of pocket. I let them push me into doing the work all in 2015 and it cost me $858 out of pocket. I was told to make half payment in Nov. and Dec. Done. Now I get a bill for another $159.60 and yes, I understand that the prior was an estimate (my reason for doing half in 2015 and finish in 2016 for less out of pocket), they will not wave it. I have another 8-10k or more in work to be done. There's one lucky dentist out there waiting to have a customer who pays their bills. I will not let any one push me in the future.
