Brought my vehicle in for rear bumper damage, that was relatively minor I thought, but uncovered other damages. I was initially taken aback about a $9500 estimate, $1000 of which I paid through my deductible, but all of the estimated workseemed legitimate, but overpriced. After picking up my vehicle, I noticed inconsistencies in the paint and brought it back for them to review and to also determine why my keyless entry was not functioning anymore. They took my vehicle back in and told me that the keyless entry was not related and that I brought the vehicle in in that condition with cut wires on the interior panel. In no way was that possible, and the history of my vehicle shows no damage or related work in that area. In a rather condescending manner, they said to me, "we don't know the history of this vehicle" and wouldn't stand behind the fact that something had happened in their shop to cause this damage. Then, they tried to claim that I was somehow disrespectful to their staff while I remained professional other than the conversation where I was spoken to in a disrespectful manner. I can handle all of that as long as they stand behind their issues, which they did not. I then pointed out additional problems that happened during the repair, including some wheelwell trim pieces that were improperly put back on and had gouges and damage on them. I sent photographs of the damage back to them and they got no response at all. None. After seeking outside professional assessment of the situation, these particular panels are not meant for reuse, and they were wedged back onto my vehicle, thereby causing damage. Attached are the photos I sent them that got no response where they added damage. Luckily, State Farm was helpful in helping me find another body shop to fix their shoddy workmanship. So, they determined fault with Bucktown Auto Body, and I will get it fixed at a more reputable location. I also recommend for anybody thinking about bringing in a vehicle to this particular body shop to also consider a more reputable one to bring it to. I had done some previous business with Autohaus body shop and assumed this was still related. Unfortunately, this business was purchased recently and the previous ownership that has all the good reviews are not related, and a lot has changed, and none of it good. I would take your money and estimates elsewhere. read more

The process was super easy with them and my insurance. I ended up actually also getting an oil change, new battery, and starter from them. The process was quite smooth. Scammers! Will commit insurance fraud at your expense!!! Please read this review. As other yelpers have pointed out a lot of the positive reviews on here are fabricated. They do a poor job at repairing cars and will not update you on the status of your repair and ignore your phone calls. It took them over 3 weeks for a simple windshield repair on a Hyundai! We recently took our car to have the windshield replaced which they said would be ready in 4 days. Six days went by and we didn't hear anything so we called and they said the car is ready. We went to get it and to our surprise the windshield was still cracked!! When we brought it up they said they fixed a dent on our hood and that the windshield will be fixed but they had to order it and once it comes in and they would call us back. Long story short 3 weeks later I finally call them and they said that the windshield is in but they just started repairing it and noticed a crack in my molding. Again I had to call them to find out the status of my car. Furious I called FRANCISCO, who was in charge of the repairs. He said his guy who fixes windshields wasn't in until that day and that's why it took 3 weeks to start the repair and to notice the molding was cracked. This was obviously a case of insurance fraud and taking advantage of what they thought was a naive young girl. After calling FRANCISCO out on this, he said he would pay back half my deductible and talk to his manager/store owner? TIM to get the full $500 back to make up for some of the costs of Uber's to and from the shop. After calling him out, the car was magically ready the next morning. When I picked up the car, he only gave a fraction of the money($100) that he promised. But at that point I was so frustrated that I took my car and left. read more

The staff here are super amiable, the repair is timely (dropped off my car for some scratches last Thursday and picked it this Monday!), communication has been smooth, technician is knowledgeable and, most importantly, honest (I was also here for some sway bar change recommended by the shop that did my maintenance. Hi I Sent my BMW 4 Series in for repair following a rear end collision where I needed the trunk liftgate & bumper replaced. Chicago Autohaus initially seemed very promising reading the reviews however, I ended up receiving the car back with numerous bumper gaps remaining, trunk and windshield gaps where I could hear wind coming in while driving, scratches in my leather steering wheel (they denied this), dirty footsteps in my trunk, and a faulty opening/closing rear trunk lift gate (it would only open sometimes and was getting caught on something). After a few more visits I requested to speak to the Owner Saif on the phone and was denied and given an email instead. I tried multiple times to email Saif and never heard back from him which shows to me their ownership doesn't care much about the Customer Service, just that they are getting paid. In total to have my simple rear end fixed, I had to visit Chicago Autohaus and LEAVE my car at least 3 different times without ever getting it fixed completely. The Car was finally taken to Gateway Auto & Collision in West Loop where they were able to finish out the repairs. I am still giving at least a 2 Star Review as I was treated well by Amari who empathized with my disappointing experience. Please Note: if you do choose to drop your car at Chicago Autohaus, make sure to record the interior and exterior beforehand in case scratches show up as cars are being parked very tightly together outside. read more

This location on Wolcott is the best in the city. The restoration that was done was impeccable. And they buffed it to make it look show room ready. The best part is the honesty and customer care. I had an A/C leak that looked over when they restored my car from the accident, and I didn't know that it was suppose to be fixed when the restoration happened a year ago. Asked for a custom grille to be put on my audi. I get it, it's a pain, typically a 2-4hr job. They quote me $55 an hr, shouldn't cost more than $250. I make an appointment and show up, tech comes and looks at my car and wants $600 to do the job. I asked for a 4hr job? Are you insane? He tried justifying it by how big of a pain it is, I said I get that, this is why I'm paying you on how long it's going to take, not because you want a exorbitant price to make it "worth it" for you. BEWARE! all of the good reviews for this place are from the previous owners - this place just switched ownership earlier in 2024 and hasn't changed the name online yet. DO NOT GO!!!!! I took my car to them after getting rear ended to get a quote. after I got the quote from them, I wanted to take it to another place to get another quote. I called them and scheduled a pickup time and received a confirmation text from the shop with the day and time it would be ready to pick up. I also co through mg insurance agency - who worked with the shop - the pick time time and date. When I got there - after I had taken off work to go pick it up- they were confused and said my car was disassembled. LITERALLY IN PIECES WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO PICK IT UP. I said can you put it back together because I have an appointment at another shop and I need to go. Gbe owner came out and asked "do you want the bumper?" I said well yes, I brought it in with the bumper so I want it back. She said "do you want the rear lights?" Like of course I do, what do you mean. Then they CHARGED ME for putting my car back together even though they were just supposed to give me a quote through my insurance agency and never advised me they were taking it apart nor that it would cost HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET!!! The entire time I never got an apology and the owner and her staff were incredibly argumentative and rude. Never ever apologized for the inconvinience or anything. The folks at Chicago Autohaus are so wonderful!!! My vehicle is 20 years old, but still runs great. It's a Toyota. It was involved in an accident and the damage was mostly cosmetic. Instead of having to trash the vehicle, they worked to put it back together so I could continue to use it for the remainder of its life. Money is tight and I can't afford a new vehicle. Adam was fantastic. We were visiting Chicago for a weekend to go to a concert, and our car was stolen overnight. It was recovered with a busted window and steering column. Adam was very straightforward and honest with us about the timeframe it would take to get the parts in to completely fix it, and while he wouldn't be able to get the parts for the body, window, and steering column in time for us to leave town, he was able to patch up the window with a covering and get us ready to get on the road again. He even put together a makeshift key for us to be able to get the car started, so we could get it home. This shop is terrible. I took my infiniti truck there to replace bumper. They didn't have the calibration tool to reset the sonar safety sensors. I spent 100 dollars on lyft going back in forth. They had to call the dealer to bring the calibration tool which held up the completion. Also it look like someone had been searching through my rear cargo area for something to steal. If you have any work that has anything to do with sensors don't go to them because they either don't have the tools or knowledge and have to call the dealer which holds up the completion date. Also you need to remove your items before you leave your vehicle because one of there employees is a thief. read more
