Great eye doctor he has been my doctor for years. I was calling to book my annual check up and noticed they had a 3 star yelp review and immediately got concerned. After reading others concerns I sympathize with them. I have not had a poor experience ever with my doctor. Staff has always been helpful and one time I had an emergency with my eye and they accommodated. From picking out frames and selecting new contact lens brands they have always been helpful. I never have to wait long for anything, they repair and clean as well. You should try them out for yourself read more

I initially called at 10 (because that's when they open)...no answer. I then called back at 10:16 and explained the reason for my call. The female asked that I give her a minute as the computers were booting up. Then she asked can you call back in 10 minutes as she just opened up. If the business opens at 10, that doesn't mean the employees show up at 10 that means be ready for business at 10. If my Son hadn't broken his glasses, I definitely would not be dealing with them. read more

Make sure have a spare pair of glasses before you go here because waiting for your order to come back from the lab is RIDICULOUSLY LONG. I've been waiting over a month for a simple prescription. They keep giving me the same BULL CRAP excuse, "still pending at the lab". The lab obviously is on another planet. I will not recommend Chicago Eye to nobody! I will never use them again.! It will be quicker just to get a guide dog for the blind!!! read more

I honestly wish I could write great things about this place because the doctor seems like a great person. Endless conversation throughout my whole appointment. But, when it comes to the people working the front desk... The most unprofessional staff. I went in for my appointment on November 26th and the moment I walked in, immediately first sign of unprofessionalism, one of the girls' was putting on makeup. She literally had white spots of, setting powder if I'm not mistaking, on her face as she got up to greet me and give me the papers I had to fill out. Moving forward they said it would be about two weeks when my glasses would be ready. I called a little over two weeks later, December 14th, and their response was, "Because of the holidays orders are behind. For sure next week they'll be ready." On December 15th I then get a voicemail saying that my glasses "should be ready by next week..." Clearly none of them remembered that we spoke the day before. It is now "next week", December 20th to be exact. Almost a whole month later. Asked again what the status of my glasses were and this time the guy took my call and responded, "You're insurance just approved it on the 10th. So they just started working on them." (Side note: My insurance not approving my glasses, isn't that something they should of told me during my visit? Maybe the first time I called? Or even when they left me the voicemail a few days after my appointment?) I proceeded to ask, "Ok, do you know roughly when they'll be ready?" He said, "No I can't tell you that. We wouldn't know." At that point I was honestly frustrated and all I said was, "Ok thank you" and hung up. Fast forward to January 7th, somewhere around that date, called again to ask about the status of my glasses. The front desk told me, "Your glasses have been here since the week after we left a voicemail. I'm sorry for the confusion." I mean cool. You get what you pay for right? read more

Great place and helpful staff. The doctor is friendly and makes sure you are going to get the right type of glasses and contacts. The place is very nice and has a classy silver ceiling and plenty of styles of glasses that were affordable! The front desk worker was friendly and helped me with the form. The other employee helped me get fitted for contacts and she fixed the glasses I came with. I look forward to getting my contacts. And although I didn't buy new glasses, the doctor made sure I got my prescription written down clearly and offered to help me in anyway. Overall, I was really happy with the experience and I will recommend this place for my family. read more

Dr. Cabela does a pretty good job with the eye exams etc..., and he has a awesome personality, but things have changed in his office. I questioned if I really want to keep going to him. When you walk into his office there's no diversity. His entire staff looks the same, and aren't as nice as some of the ladies that were there before. Time for a change ! read more

I've been a loyal customer at the CEC for a few years now, up until now. The doctor is beyond amazing, however the staff is HORRIBLE. He needs to fire and rehire ,Because they are terrible. I work in customer service so i believe in going the extra mile. Being that I've been a customer, you should already sort of be familiar with your seasoned clientele. One staff member asked me"have i been there before" literally you have ALL OF MY INFORMATION IN FRONT OF YOU. what do you think? YES -- I've been going to CEC longer than your employment there. Then, as i was checking in, apparently I wasn't due for a check up, but here's the kick... I WAS ALREADY AT THE OFFICE. So the lady i called to schedule the appointment didn't think to look to see if i was due for a annual? Or to even ask why I'm coming? Or when i received a confirmation call ?? Then proceeds to tell me to come back in SEPTEMBER people. ITS APRIL. I was highly upset. Furious. I had to leave because the things i wanted to say would have not been politically correct. A bunch of IDIOTS. I drove 45 mins away to come to THIS particular eye doctor, to have been shown LACK OF responsibility for such an easy job! read more

The customer service that's provided in the establishment is horrible. This is my 3rd visit here and when I tried to vocalize my complaint I was brushed off that's why I had to post on here on Yelp. I've never been one to really complain but this is horrible. If I would have never called about my glasses I would have still been waiting for them.. read more

Not even sure where to even start with this place first and foremost customer service is horrible. Scheduled an appointment and was told it could be 25-30 mins before the doctor could see me due to being booked. Okay cool didn't have anything going on so didn't mind waiting. Decided to take a look at their selection of glasses to see if it was something I liked. Finally after 15 mins of browsing I was called by the doctor did the initial exam. Moving forward finally made it to the chair and the doctor started talking to me about my weight and nutrition. Telling me how important it is to maintain a healthy diet and instructed on what foods to eat. Umm are you a optometrist or nutritionist slightly confused. Secondly shouldn't have to explain that I had recently given birth to twins so these unnecessary comments about my weight don't have anything to do with my eye exam. After stating my peace picked out my frames had to call them to follow up about my frames. Girl was rude saying they had been trying to call me which was a complete lie. I will never patronize this place ever again. read more
