I got takeout from Chicago Pizza for the first time last night. I had a great experience. The first thing I noticed was that the place was full of people from every background, which is nice. Pros: (1) Quality ingredients / no pork. (2) Victoria, who works the counter, is very welcoming and capable. (3) The pizza tastes great. As others have noted, the sides of the deep dish are nice and thick, but the bottom is thin. If you require actual Chicago-style pizza, you'll be disappointed. As its own thing, I enjoyed the pizza immensely. I shall return. read more

The service was great , she kept my drink filled brought our food and appetizers in a timely manner . The restaurant is nice and cozy , however if you are not a fan of high chairs and stools please order the food to go lol . However I have been craving a deep dish pizza and online on tiktok they made this pizza look immaculate, however for me it wasn't enough sauce , or toppings it was more cheese than anything , I wouldn't say this is a Chicago pie but it was really trying to be , the sauce was like light on the top where as it should be as thick as the cheese ,and the toppings was lost in the cheese it wasn't enough toppings and we got three toppings and barely tasted any of it because of so much cheese lol . Not a place I'd visit again. The deep dish was just - not good. The restaurant was dirty. The girl who checked us out and brought the food to the table was nice, so I gave it two stars. We also had the mozzarella sticks. They were fine. Came out hot. Typical frozen mozzarella sticks. read more

Wow! What a great experience! Did a pick-up order that took a little longer than expected, but service was nice and friendly so I didn't mind a little wait. I read other reviews that said this was pretty authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, but I didn't understand what that actually meant, because, apparently, I didn't know what authentic Chicago deep dish pizza was until now! I've only ever had "deep dish" pizza that was New York style with a thicker pan crust and the toppings on top. So that's what I thought deep dish was. I like a thick crust, so I always enjoyed those fake "deep dish" pizzas. But this deep dish pizza was spectacular! Reminded me of a chicken pot pie, in pizza form lol SUPREME DEEP DISH PIZZA: This bad boy came LOADED! Wow! Stuffed full of fresh toppings! See how thick the cheese layer was in my pics attached! I was full off of just a single slice and some pieces of cheese bread. It was well worth the money. Every bite was full of ingredients and flavor! Absolutely delicious! Also loved the large sausage pieces! It was my favorite topping for sure. Only bad thing is that it was difficult to hold/eat with my hands because all of the ingredients were trying to spill out. Not a terribly bad problem to have though. PESTO CHEESE BREAD: Light pesto flavor (honestly wish there was more), but you could clearly taste the cheese. There was no garlic flavor. I thought it would have garlic because it's listed under "Garlic Bread", but I guess it's actually just a pesto cheese bread. Came with ranch and marinara dipping sauces, which really enhanced it for me. MARINARA DIP: Not on the menu, but this came with the pesto cheese bread. It tasted super fresh and like it was made in-house. Not sure if it actually was though. But it was the best marinara I've had from a pizza place. Maybe even ever. I'm glad I changed my mind from hand to to a deep dish. The pizza itself is a 10 out of 10 Delicious crust delicious, amazing mozzarella cheese, and they layer tomato, and basil in between the cheese underneath the sauce & that sauce was good. Absolutely delicious. I wasn't expecting such a good pie from a pizza spot in Dallas . So far this is the best deep dish pizza I've had on planet Earth to date. We are visiting and found this place from Google. It had good reviews so we were like let's try it. We ordered wings - regular buffalo and thin crust pizza w/ pepperoni - sausage - pineapple and i ordered a deep dish with sausage and pineapple. The $ difference between the thin crust and deep dish is twice the amount. My husband freaked out and wasn't happy! Needless to say the food came and it was and is Amazing!! I would definitely come here again and the price you pay is totally worth it and then some. This is the third day out of 3 that I have eaten here!! Started with a meat calizone delivered to the hotel, great flavor and crust! We dined in yesterday and had hand tossed 6 topping pizza. Again excellent flavor and crust. Just ordered another calzone for lunch today! Dinning in has a nice space with a good number of tables. There was a large group here that was noisy. We were excited to find a restaurant serving Chicago style pizza in Dallas again since Taste of Chicago had closed but this was a disappointment. Not that Taste of Chicago was spectacular it was way closer to the real deal than this place. I wonder if we got a bad pie given other reviewers comparing to popular Chicago pizza places but even the quality of ingredients were subpar. It was over baked, crust very dark brown and crumbly. Minimal pepperoni and the cheese was not smooth and melty. I suspect they use bagged grated cheese which will not melt well on any pizza. The sauce was okay but needed more on the pizza. We also got a regular crust pizza which was better than the deep dish but also limited on toppings. The best part of our order was the chicken wings because they were well seasoned but seemed air fried which is not our preference. We will not be going back and will continue our search for real Chicago pizza. Until then the best option is ordering from Goldbelly. read more

This place isn't getting nearly enough credit. As someone who plans on having Giordano's be his last meal (IYKYK), I've been trying to find places that are remotely close to the Chicago Deep Dish (call it "casserole" if you want, I don't care) pizza that I know and love. Gino's East is all well and good, but the Northwest Highway location was subpar and the location west of Six Flags is just far too inconvenient, when there's something just as good (if not better) much closer. I live in the Medical District, but work in McKinney, and so I'll call in an order for carryout before I leave the office, always letting them know that I'm subject to Dallas North Tollway traffic, and while I am leaving as soon as I've hung up the phone, it might take longer than the 30-45 minute drive to get there. Today, I placed an order and it took me about 50 minutes or so to get there to pick it up, and as soon as I walked in to pick up my order, I was greeted with some apologies, as the kitchen staff felt it'd been overcooked. They showed me my pie, and it looked perfectly fine! The crust wasn't blackened (and far from it!), but they wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied, offering to make a replacement pizza at no cost. I told them that it looked more than acceptable and declined their (very gracious) offer for a new one. Regardless, I received a discount for their perceived error (which I will maintain was non-existent), and I hope I made up for that in my tip. I feel like I've probably dealt with the same 3-4 people in all my dealings, but to my detriment and shame, I've never remembered their names, but they've all been nothing but amazing! I know the Chicago vs New York pizza discussion is a never-ending debate (but yes, it's more than fine to eat pizza with a fork and knife), and I will say that within the past few months, this quickly became my fix for a deep dish pizza. The ingredients are high quality, and if I had one suggestion, it'd be to have chunkier sausage, but that's picking nits at this point. I've ordered a few replications of some of my favorite pizzas from other Chicago-style places (Pizzeria Uno's, Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, etc.) and they are spot-on! (For reference, I've ordered "extra cheese, sausage and pepperoni [my personal baseline]," "garlic, sausage, and tomatoes," "spinach, mushroom and extra cheese," and "pepperoni, extra cheese, and mushroom." The staff truly cares about their customers' satisfaction and every visit I've had has been more than purely transactional. They welcome feedback and are very personable. With Taste of Chicago in Addison having closed, I highly recommend anyone who is trying to get their "fix" and trying to find a replacement, check this place out. It's worth going south of the border (LBJ). If you're in Uptown or anywhere in Dallas-proper, why have you not been here yet?!?! read more

Order was placed at 10:53pm and left with pizza in hand at 11:30pm. The wait was so bad and that's only because it's definitely worth the wait. Toppings were scarce and I'm not sure what type of cheese was used...couldn't have been mozzarella. The crust was soggy on the bottom, burnt, and had a chemical taste.
