I was traveling out of town to work in Avon Park and this place had a menu that was appealing to me so I stopped on by for a late lunch. (side note- this was 3 weeks ago before COVID mania started). I walked in and stood at the front for 5 minutes before some older gentleman asked if I had been helped. When I said no, he asked "What do you need?" I was slightly taken aback as I was confused why he would even ask that question. I said "I am hungry and want to eat." He immediately turned red with embarrassment and said "OH! Ok. I work upstairs but I can seat you." Whatever that means? *shrug* Anyways, he sat me in the very back corner where I am surprised that the server even saw me. Had he not told her that I was there, I am really not sure I would have been served. I ordered the nutty chicken salad and an iced tea. It took quite a while for the food to come out, considering that it was only myself, a lady at another table by herself, and a couple in a booth. The salad was decent, I wish the chicken was a little less salty and the salad mix had some brown wilty pieces. I was also missing the bread that was supposed to come with it, but the server was everywhere but near me to ask for it. Eventually when they couple ordered, one of them got the same salad as me and asked where the bread was and the server said "i forgot it in the toaster." and then she looked at me. I never got a tea refill either. The server was nice, but spent a fair amount of time talking with the couple and left me and the other lady in the weeds. The quality of the food was not worth the price I paid. I was disappointed and it is unlikely I would go back if I were ever in the area again. read more

Some coworkers and I had dinner at Chicanes with one of our local clients. The hotel (where Chicanes is) was fantastic and the food at Chicanes was also really good as well. Things we enjoyed the most: The drinks were great! We all enjoyed ours-the sangria, the bramble, and the martini. My coworker said their martini was one of the best she's ever had. The food was really great. 3 of us got the salmon and one had the filet. All delicious. I am not a green beans person, but these were so yummy! It's also a large portion. None of us finished our meals completely. (I think this is a good thing!) My coworker and her husband mentioned they were celebrity their anniversary soon and they brought a special anniversary dessert of crème brûlée! Such a nice treat. But, the BEST part of Chicanes was our server Quinn. He was one of the best servers I've ever had. Our waters were always full and we always had what we needed when we needed it. He was funny and SO kind. Quinn is a treasure and I would specifically come back to Chicanes because of that. read more

There are many who say that Chicanes is the finest restaurant in the Sebring area! I've been to most every place in the area and I would tend to agree. The ATMOSPHERE here is quite simply gorgeous. If you don't eat outside, and that's an option, make sure to save some extra time to step outside. That's exactly what my party of four did after a late lunch. We all agreed it was spectacular. On a beautiful Florida day it doesn't get much better. I noticed some window seats that looked amazing. If you can, try to snag one of those. Our SERVICE was just a little off this visit but nowhere near enough to complain about. Our server was personable but appeared to be a little over extended. I wasn't in the mood for a massive lunch. Several folks had told me about the Rollover appetizer so I had to get it. It was filet mignon rolled around pepperjack cheese wrapped with cherrywood smoked bacon & served with a house made marinade for dipping ($15). I paired that with a half order Caesar salad. Those rollovers were damn good! They were cooked to my specifications, juicy, and the flavor profile was off the charts. They were also plated beautifully. Combined with my very fresh tasting Caesar salad I had an excellent lunch. I judged my FOOD to be very very good. Definitely the fanciest dinner that I had during my five weeks in Sebring, Chicanes is the place to go for date night. Delightful location with subdued lighting, excellent decorating and a comfy booth that was almost quiet enough to drown out the "Happy Birthday" singers at other tables. I had the French Onion Soup to start, which was excellent except for the gigantic tower of fried onion strings on top. After sliding that to the side, the soup was rich and the cheese was perfectly melted on top. Very nice. For main, the salmon was great. Not the thickest filet, but it was tasty and well cooked. Mashed potatoes with onions and the steamed string beans were very good. Nice looking wine list but the beer list was dismal. Oh, well. A good meal, not terribly expensive, very fancy. read more

We went to Chicanes this past Thursday night, when we arrived it was a down pour of rain. My husband dropped me off in front and went to park the car. The gentlemen at the front desk saw me enter and asked if my husband was parking the ford. I replied yes, he went and got an umbrella and went out in the storm himself to escort my husband in. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! No where have we ever seen customer service like this!!!! Kudos to your staff. Our dinners were very tasty and top shelf, hats off to the chef. Service was a bit slower but the service from the front desk and the flavor of the food made up for it. We had a party of eight so that can be challenging for a waitress. I'm currently staying in the hotel where this restaurant is located and decided to try it. I asked for a table by the window and was seated at a table that was tucked into a corner. The view was okay but it felt a little claustrophobic. My waitress Nicole was friendly enough and the service started out great but took a nose dive at the end. I know she had two other tables close by so maybe she felt overwhelmed. I ordered the salmon for dinner. It was nicely prepared and served with a baked potato. Overall a good meal, but a little overpriced for $35. The house moscato, priced at only $5 a glass was a pretty good deal and I enjoyed it. So my disappointment started at the end of the meal as I sat there with a dirty plate in front of me while Nicole cleared the plates of the other two parties nearby. They were both served about 15-20 minutes after I was so I'm not sure why their dirty dishes were a priority. She passed by after that and I let her know I was finished and was ready for the check. The plate still wasn't cleared. Finally, someone else came by and took the dirty plate. I reminded them about the check and I finally got it a few minutes later. I ended up tipping 15% due to the poor service. I also didn't bother to visit again for the duration of my stay. Hopefully they train their staff better or give them less tables. read more

Food was excellent, but I thought the menu was rather small. defiantly the most upscale place in Sebring. I have never felt comfortable here, always feel like I'm a wearing brown shoes with a tuxedo. The bar looks very nice next time I go I'll try sitting there. We have gone for special occasions both times. There was a very loud table of twelve sitting next to us the last time. Super fresh and delicious!! I had shrimp cocktail followed by a blackened chicken ceasar salad. Lettuce was the white hearts of romaine just how I like it and the chicken was nicely blackened and delicious!! My husband had one of the best burgers. Chicanes used to be great! Something has happened, new chef or something, as we used to be able to get a gluten free meal with a slight adjustment to the menu, not anymore, the menu hasn't changed but something has, the escargot was tasteless. We won't be going back any more. read more

I went for dinner on Saturday and sat in the bar. We ordered an appetizer, salads, burgers, and a couple beers. We never got our beers or salads. Our server seemed completely out of it like he might have been stoned. We have to ask for mayo and ketchup 3 times before we got it and we asked 3 times for our beers and never got them and then our server charged us for them and then seem imply we were lying about that when we asked for it to be removed from our bill. I used to like this place so it was disappointing to see this is where it is at. read more

We have been to Chicanes before and have really enjoyed it. With that said our experience last night during their grand re-opening was less then satisfying. The Grouper in lemon sauce was awful. The Blue Cheese dressing tasted like mayonnaise. The filet was mealy in texture. We spoke with the manager and said we were surprised as we expected it to be as good as it was and in the recent past. Something is happening at Chicanes and it's not good. First of all, the wood tables and chairs are all look extremely chipped, the lack of linen on the table doesn't help. The theme of well used, continued to the waiters apron it was filthy, so much so I was concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen. The waiter seemed unsure about the menu offerings including, the daily soup special. Why? One of our meals was wrong, after we were very specific about the preparation, which caused our party to eat at different times. The food was unfortunately not much better than the service, lackluster and lukewarm. For a $35.00 entree price point, I expected a professional dinning experience. Came here for a nice dinner with family. A few things were good but experience was negative overall. Ordered a burger which I requested to be medium rare, but it came out very well done. When I told the waitress about it, she just laughed and walked away rather than offering anything. Definitely would not recommend eating here. Well. Options for a nicer dining experience in the area is limited. The setting is very nice. Nice bar. The staff seemed a bit new and inexperienced, but times are hard for staffing. The menu is very steakhouse centric. Good specials daily. The Delmonico steak on a hot skillet was really very good! Limited beer selection. Service was good at the bar. After doing a lot of research, my wife determined that this seemed to be the best spot in Sebring. The reviews are clearly bogus. The waitress was quite nice but that was the best it was going to get, by far. I ordered lemonade to begin with and have never had anything that sour. I asked our waitress if this was fresh squeezed and she said it wasn't. I figured that they must have mixed it incorrectly. She brought another one which was just as bad. My wife's salad was so salty she couldn't eat it. The manager stopped by to see how our meals were and she told him that the salad was basically inedible. His response? "That's the dressing, it has a real pop." And, he walked away After we left, one of our guests told me his meal was pretty bad. We won't be returning. read more

We just celebrated my mom's 100th birthday here, and it was fantastic!!! We've been coming to Chicanes since 2010, when my parents moved to Sebring, and have celebrated many events over the years. We even celebrated my mom's 90th birthday here. So when it came time to plan this 100th birthday celebration, my brother didn't hesitate to make reservations at Chicanes. Chrissy, the manager, went out of her way and bent over backwards, not only to accommodate our party of 11, but to make sure EVERYTHING was perfect. She set us up in a beautiful private room and even hung decorations for me! I was pretty blown away by her kindness, and caring attitude for this milestone celebration. Malia was our main server and, by all accounts, excellent! It seemed she knew what anyone needed before we even knew we needed it! All of our meals, chosen from a limited menu, were fantastic!! Every single person commented that their food was delicious! My mom and I both ordered the filet and grilled veggie kebabs, which were amazing. Chrissy and additional wait staff, assisted Malia as needed, to ensure everything was just right. My mom was overwhelmed, grateful, happy, and had a most wonderful evening!! It truly could not have turned out any better. I want to send a HUGE shout out and thank you to Chicanes, Chrissy, Malia, the chefs, and all the wait staff that took care of us that night.
