Delicious! Just ordered takeout for the first time here and the food was phenomenal. Great flavor and excellent salsas as well! We ordered a burrito with barbacoa/cilantro chicken and a tinga de pollo bowl. They were very accommodating in not adding cilantro for the tinga bowl. The food was ready quick, tasted fresh and it's safe to say we'll definitely be ordering from here again and again to try everything on their menu. This is the best mexican food I've had in a loooong time in Stamford. I'll also say I really thank them for their salsas. I got a salsa verde and an orange salsa, (spicy! but delicious!) So many places shy away from hot salsa but this was what made me fall in love and know they know what they're doing. Major Kudos to them for opening in 2020. I came across this restaurant during my lunch break. I called, no one answered so I started my search on yelp and then a gentleman from this restaurant called me back. Took me by surprise, but it worked out because I dont have much time on my lunchbreak. The gentleman and young lady who took my order were very nice. I ordered the cilantro lime chicken tacos. It was ready within 10 minutes. Awesome!! Picked up my order, i asked for some hot sauce and done. I was starving and excited to chow down some tacos. Immediately took out the package and everything in the taco had slid off the tortilla to the sides and bottom of the package. It was an "ugh" moment. Thankfully, they packed a fork so I was able to rebuild my taco and it was pretty good. It had a creamy avocado sauce mixed with the cilantro lime chicken, pickled onions were delish, and it was served with whole wheat tortillas. Which i thought I would miss the corn tortilla but it was ok. I would suggest maybe serving the tacos on a bed or lettuce or a different container so the filling of the taco doesnt slide off. Idk. But other than that the customer service was great and most importantly the tacos were pretty yums. I would recommend this place to my friends and coworkers. Oh and the hot sauce, not spicy at all. We ordered catering for a family event, we wanted a bit more upscale presentations so we wanted to avoid build your own tacos. The owner Rob advised against it and he was so right! Yay! A place that reminds me of La Esquina in NYC! The tacos were so tasty and fresh. Tasted homemade. Our favorite flavors were the crispy chicken and carnitas. Price was very reasonable at $3/taco. A grass roots spot opening up in the middle of a pandemic is a tall task. If they keep delivering on the flavor however, they're going to thrive in the area! I ordered the Chicken Tinga bowl & was blown away! The chicken had a great flavor & kick, the corn was a touch I really enjoyed, & the pickled onions have to be their secret weapon. The place has a great vibe & the owner is a dope guy who you can tell is really into his craft. When I find a restaurant I like, I give myself the task of trying everything they have to offer. Tiny spot, nice people, very good food. Had three tacos: 1) Barbacoa- excellent juicy full of flavor; 2) Cilantro lime chicken- very good tasty and grill-y; 3) Carne Asada- just fine but not as good as the other two. The plates and the bowls are always a WIN. We favor carnitas but everything is good so you can't go wrong. The chicken flautas-crunchy and with that avocado sauce-BOMB. Let me say I am so glad Chicho's opened in Stamford. The food is incredible - we order at least once a week! We have tried the salads, plantains, chips and salsa and guacamole. The salads have everything you could want - black beans, corn, pickled onions, and a delicious dressing. You can tell the chips and salsa are homemade, they have a delicious and authentic flavor. The food is consistent and we always look forward to ordering here. Hoping that some day soon we can enjoy this restaurant in person, but until then, we'll keep ordering take out and trying new things from the menu! read more
