My boyfriend and I came to Chick Chick this past 4th of July weekend. I was pretty happy they were open for dinner. It seemed that everything else had already closed. As others have said, the outdoor situation is super cute. It's very airy with plant life and twinkly lights. An upscale picnic vibe, if you will. We actually sat inside, which wasn't as cute. It was still nice though, if not a little minimalistic and narrow. We were the only ones eating inside and everyone was masked up. I got the Nashville Hot Chickwich [$12] which at first looked small to me but was pretty filling in the end. It wasn't quite as hot as one would think but packed a good enough punch. The chicken was crispy perfection, almost as good as the fried chicken at Oishi Noodle Bar in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. I loved the Korean influences sprinkled through mostly every dish. The pickled radishes on the side reminded me of ban chan. My boyfriend had the half fried chicken with garlic soy [$15]. It smelled divine. We shared the fries [$7] which were on point. Salty, crispy, and all around perfect. The portion size was generous but obviously I could've eaten the whole thing myself. The white kimchi slaw [$6] was fine, I couldn't really tell it was kimchi. I found it too creamy as well, but then again I don't really love a creamy slaw in the first place. The green tea cheesecake [$8] which is homemade actually kind of blew me away. I am 100% not a fan of matcha, I detest it in fact. The green tea flavor here was hardly noticeable, other than a note of earthiness. The cheesecake itself was quite nice, it was light and not too sweet. My boyfriend, who isn't a fan of sweet things, liked it too. The service was great. The woman who served us knew the menu well and was able to answer all the questions my boyfriend had [I don't ask questions, I always know what I want LOL]. I think the owner may have come around and checked in on us. Overall, this is a cool spot, and may be added to our rotation of UWS eating places. Arguably the BEST chicken tenders out there in NYC !!! You got few options around (Stickys / Peaches hot house etc...) but seems that this place just nailed it . The right crispiness , not so oily , very good meat , very generous portion (I took the 6 - fairly priced) and the taste is fantastic . They have few sauces though not as spicy as i would like it to be. Definitely something to work on . For whoever like the skinny cut crispy fries def would like those . They didn't seem to be following the trends of other chicken restaurants, no. They were on their own wave, which I love. They offer what seems to be amazing Nashville chicken sandwiches, as well as what really caught my eye...the chicken and French toast dish. As I was skimming down the menu, this caused me to stop in my tracks, chile. It was enough for me to get on up to Chick Chick! I arrived, and really dug the decor. Just good feels, fun chickens on the walls, kinda giving an old school diner vibe, you know? Good music, good energy. I was seated and told the waitress I knew what I wanted, the French toast and chicken. She warned me that it's more on the sweet side and asked if I were ok with that. I said, "girl, absolutely!" Lol I love me a sweet and savory combo, hear?! But I did appreciate the heads up. She also mentioned that I was gonna love it, which just furthered my excitement. Ok, so this chicken and French toast dish is served with chicken tenders, apple chips, French toast and maple syrup. So she brings it out, and I was pleasantly pleased with the presentation. The first thing my eyes were drawn to, was the MASSIVE slice of French toast. I mean, she.was.THICK! It was a beautifully silky, creamy, custard-y brick-size French toast. It was nicely crispy on the outside though. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken tenders were nicely done. Lightly seasoned, but seasoned enough. They were super juicy and crispy. I cut bite sizes of the French toast and chicken, got them on the fork together, and dipped them in what they called a maple bourbon syrup. It was definitely more like an icing. It was thick and rich, and delicious. It paired so well with the chicken and French toast. I did what I call, "icing skated" them around the plate to get every drop of the icing syrup. It was all disrespectful in the best way. I had to go and compliment the cooks after eating. They did an exceptional job! Chick Chick is new and on the rise. We been to chick chick a few times. The vibes are like new modern Korean chicken bar. It's kinda small but I like that it's cozy while also cool and modern. You can dress up or dress down. I always order the 3 pc chicken tenders Nashville hot chicken flavor and the Mac and cheese and they're both great. The chicken tenders are massive I can usually only finish one and I bring the other two home. The Mac and cheese is super good but it's super rich so it's good to share because it's hard for one person to finish especially in addition to the massive chicken main. My friends swear by the Thai Sweet Chili Chick-Which and the Peach Soju cocktail. I also think that the coleslaw is excellent and the Parmesan fries are not bad especially for sharing with a group. Note that the place is quite small so you'll likely end up sitting at the bar and the stools are kinda far apart and the music is pretty loud so it can be hard to hear each other. And they only have two tables suitable for a group so you may be waiting a bit if you're there with a group. The only thing change is that the pickles on the side are not good and they don't have bottles of soju only soju cocktails. I'd also add a melty cheese in addition to the Parmesan for the Parmesan truffle fries like white cheddar. My friends wanted to write a review as well: "Chick-Chick is a classic go-to. In my mission to try and judge all the best fried chicken joints in all of NYC before my departure I could not resist giving Chick Chick a try. And so glad I did! Even though I had takeout, everything I ordered was still incredibly delicious upon arriving home and reheating (thank you air fryer gods). So I heard about Chik Chik from a tik tok and honestly the crispness of the chicken in the video had me HOOKKEDD! So in true fashion I had to try it out for myself and lemme say...it was pretty bomb. The ambience was chic and cutely decorated. Kinda like if you were having a girls night at your friends house rise apartment in the city and she decorated it with soft pastels and neon signs. Let's get into the food...baby the Korean fried chix was fried to perfection and the best I've tasted in the city so far. I could use more sauce (I.e. the soy garlic) but I give it a 7.5. The biscuit was a mix of spicy and sweet. It had hot chili peppers in it but came with a honey sauce. The fries were your regular regular and the ramen was just okay but then again this place isn't know for their ramen (I give it a 5/10). The service was excellent and super quick. I've heard a lot of good things about Chick Chick and their chicken sandwiches, so I figured I had to make the trek to at least try one of them. I went pretty soon after opening, so fortunately I was able to get my order in 10 minutes, which I felt was pretty good for a takeout order, though I did only get a sandwich. I tried the KSG-wich, also known as the Korean Sweet Gochujang chicken sandwich, and I must say it was one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had! The fried chicken was crispy on the outside, as you can hear the crunch every single time you take a bite while it was juicy on the inside with each piece never being dry. The sweet gochujang sauce was perfectly coated all over the chicken skin and it was the right amount of sweet and spicy. The sandwich is not too hot and the white kimchi slaw is the perfect complement to the spice, as it is creamy and really calms your taste buds down from the heat. The sandwich is also sprinkled with sesame seeds to provide a slightly nutty flavor and the potato roll is great at soaking up any excess sauce without it getting too soggy. Everything complements each other so well that I can still imagine each and every bite I took of it, as it was that good. Basically, what I'm saying is that the KSG-wich is worth a try! Unfortunately, I was not too hungry, so I only tried the one sandwich, but with how good that sandwich was, now I know I have to go back to try their other sandwiches as well as their actual fried chicken. They also have ramen and fried rice, which makes for such an interesting menu assortment, but that gives more options for those who may not want fried chicken. Today I indulged in a fried chicken sandwich (which I earned after a vivacious Pilates class) that was so impeccable the CEO of chick fil a should consider looking how to better their recipe every Sunday rather than going to church. Ordered the whole fried chicken box with the Korean spicy, hot honey, and soy garlic sauces in addition to the dirty truffle rice. None of the sauces were very spicy but were tasty. Decent amount of chicken. The real gem was the truffle fried rice! It was delicious, spicy (more than expected) and I would order it again. While there is ramen in the menu, they are currently tweaking it (as of today) so I'm looking forward to trying it once it returns. Food is edible. It's not terrible but its very overpriced for fried chicken when you can just go to bon chon, or olive bbq for a better product at a lower cost. If you don't already live in the neighborhood of the upper west side I don't see the purpose of going. Ambiance- a basic diner setting.
