It was very busy so we were pleasantly surprised with how fast we were sat. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I only wish that when she let me know that the mango lemonade was out, that she'd have let me know before bringing a regular lemonade because I felt obligated to take the regular lemonade instead of just having water. I got the sirloin and my husband got the New York strip both medium rare. The others at our table got the sirloin with shrimp. One ordered a side of the strawberry pecan salad and it looked like she was given a regular size of it inside of the side size. I thought there was too much dressing on my salad. Also, if I had known the regular side salad had cheese on it, I would have asked for it without. Everyone's food came out at a reasonable time and the steaks were all cooked to how they should be. My broccoli looked a little sad compared to my husband's, but the flavor was still good. This is a good place to keep in mind for a meal when you or your guests are staying by the airport.

Our server Shannon was super nice; however, he did not seem to know their food that well. We did appreciate him clarifying some information with the kitchen staff. The salmon with seasoned rice and mashed potatoes were good. The salmon and rice were very flavorful and I enjoyed them. The sweet potatoes had cinnamon in it and was nice. Ambiance was very casual. It seemed like a lot of people were celebrating their birthdays that day. We heard at least 3 groups sing happy birthday song while we were there.

Craving BBQ? Backwoodz is your place! The brisket with the fat cap on is AMAZING! So flavorful!…read moreCame in super hungry after a long travel day, and that first bite was heavenly. No sauce needed! Another standout was the cucumber & tomato salad which had just the right amount of vinegar. The green beans and the cabbage were tasty, but just a tad too salty for me. I can't fault them, as I rarely use salt, it's likely my palette that is off. The pulled pork was excellent, but needed sauce. Alas I cannot have sweet sauces. I then got the idea to combine the pork with the cabbage and found it similar to the experience of eating luau pork with poi. Better together! I added the leftover vinegar dressing from the C&T salad to the green beans and found that also was a hit. The desserts were very tempting, but I opted instead to order enough brisket and pulled pork for the weekend. It's proven to be very filling!! I also can't say enough about the staff. So genuinely welcoming, helpful, friendly, and clearly proud of their product (as they should be!). Put a smile on my face and will look forward to returning on future trips to Richmond!

The Mac and cheese.. the cheese was so hard I threw the whole thing away. The baked beans was canned no seasoning and my cabbage had more of the root then leaves. I paid $90+ and literally didn't even eat the pulled chicken. Not to mention, I received 4 slices of the brisket. 4 slices ... a compete joke. I used to hype this place up but today they robbed me. I'm so pissed!

The food here was really good. My kiddo specifically asked for cheese fries for his birthday lunch,…read moreso after asking for recommendations on Facebook, this place seemed like the best choice. It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. My kids have been asking to come back pretty much since we left the restaurant.

Upon arrival, it was quite busy but the location still had plenty of seating. When we were seated, we noticed it was only one waitress waiting tables too. She was able to get us our drinks and orders pretty quickly despite working solo. I was the adventurous one in our group and ordered the pb and j cheese burger. Upon initial bite, it really tasted like a really well constructed burger. It was a double patty burger with white cheese. You don't really taste the jam. As you're chewing, the peanut butter comes out and it really makes the bite more creamy and definitely tastes of peanut butter. Overall, I would recommend fat boys for sure. Everyone thought the food tasted great and the portions were big. Definitely worth the trip!
