I've been to Chick-fil-A's all over the country. I love them because they're known for quality food, service and cleanliness. Well, not this one. I was in the area for an appointment and was excited to go because this one opened about a year ago but is 30 minutes away. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the smell of bleach. While I was waiting in line, I noticed a picture on the wall beside the cashiers that was streaked and splattered with something. A nice young man took my order and when I looked down, the counter was wet and dirty. At this point, I'm pretty turned off but I sat down and waited for my food. My nuggets and fries came quickly and were pretty good but a little greasy. I ate and headed home, which is about 20 miles, during which time my stomach began feeling upset. Luckily I made it home before the food ran through me. I'm very disappointed to write this review because Chick-fil-a prides itself on quality and this one doesn't hold true to the brand. I would like to see someone from Corporate audit this place and revoke their franchise license. read more

Stopped by early in the morning to use the restroom and grab a quick bite. Wow!!! First off, I walked in and it seemed there were 20 employees cleaning the entire restaurant. And it was already clean! Everyone was so friendly too! A gentleman was cleaning the door and so he stopped, greeted us with a friendly good morning and opened the door for us as we walked up. Everyone who made eye contact with us, greeted us were all so courteous! The food was good. The bathrooms were clean. The restaurant, including kitchen, looked super clean. This used to be one of my favorite eateries when I lived in Salinas. I hated moving away from this place. The food is so good. I loved those waffle fries. A great alternative to French fries. The tiny nuggets were superb. I could eat three handfuls now!!! I really craved the fried chicken with the cheese and bacon on top. That bacon really was a winner. And even the drinks are great. Upgraded this review. Now that they are open, you can park in the front! Who would have guessed the front parking lot was for parking. Anyways, I love this spot. Let me tell you a story. After the traffic has toned down and they opened up the inside lobby, this place is rocking. You can eat inside and you can order take out inside too. The drive thru has toned down too. Being from GA I was used to great customer service from chic fil a . This Salinas location was the Worst chic fil et I've ever been to. I ordered over $100 worth of food for my family after driving from San Jose airport to Salinas just to buy chic fil et for my Cali family . This was after a long flight and waiting two hours for a rental car we were hungry. Since it was a big order they told me to wait in the parking spot. I waited and waited but never received my order. I thought maybe because it was a big order. Then I realize that they gave my order to the wrong car. I Waited 1/2 hour to finally receive my order. Was harassed in the parking lot while waiting on the order by scammers trying to sell ice cream. No apologies from staff and after calling to complain the owner brushed me off in a letter with a reply that "we are sorry we couldn't resolve your problem". Not going there ever again. I been to Chick-Fil-A's from Portland to San Diego and the worst service by far I have ever received was at the Salinas branch. Yes, I been here many times before and never had a problem, but usually it takes one incident to really affect someone's perception of a certain place. It's very normal in the food service industry for products to be misplaced, forgotten about, etc. However, something I am not familiar with is being disrespected because of forgotten items and that's what happened today. Something as little as Chick-Fil-A grilled nuggets missing from my bag warranted a barrage of accusations from what appeared to be a supervisor or manager. From "how do I know you're not hiding the food in your car?" And "well, I refuse to give you the nuggets because the receipts don't match" even though the receipts matched(bag receipt, paper receipt, and mobile app receipt), these accusations made for an uncomfortable conversation in front of other customers. Coming to chick fil a is always something that we enjoy doing, everyone is very attentive, show willingness to assist, and give a genuine human experience. With the recent opening it has been very congested in the mall parking lot and a lot of confusion. But I have to say they have stepped it up and organized the drive thru that seems intimidating and a ver long wait at first. And I am one to have little patience but I told myself to endure and understand it will be about an hour or so before I get the order and with that I enjoyed the whole waiting period. I said this to help others in the area to understand what to expect. On the other hand the food is good I mean the regular items such as the fried chicken meals. But I recommend the grilled items. As well as the deluxe option. The grillled chicken for fast food is tasty and the nuggets grilled are my favorite over the regular nuggets which are great too. They got salads, three choices we tried the Cobb and Southwest Spicy and they are an awesome alternative I recommend. Also the parfaits for your side is a great option they also have soups and side salads for options instead of thier delicious crisscut fries. For drinks they have many verisons but I go for the Frosted Lemonade and Frosted Coffee. For now ask the security stationed outside redirecting the flow of traffic to locate the end of the line until it lessens to become normal. read more

This was my first time here as I don't do huge lines, but this was 3 o'clock in the afternoon and there were only four cars ahead of me so I wanted to give it a try and see what all the hoopla was about. First off there are three employees outside taking your order before you get up to the menu board. I had never been so of course I didn't know what was on the menu. The sweet girl that waited on me had a flip menu that was very hard to read but I asked her what she recommended and she told me the crispy Chick-fil-A sandwich. Still not sure what the third person outside standing by the menu board was doing there, but anyway, I got up to the window where a girl was standing outside handing out orders from a guy inside. The only interaction we had was her asking me if I was Teri? She hands me my bag and turns back to the guy in the window resuming their conversation about some random party. So sorry I interrupted your conversation. Still can't understand what all the craziness is about this place. Although the chicken itself was pretty good, the outside batter was soggy and nothing on it but chicken. I have come to the conclusion that people who love these places like Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out Burger are people they don't ever get a good home cooked meal. You can get a better chicken sandwich at KFC that actually has crispy outside and tender inside. If you want to save your money then either go to KFC or make it at home. It is much cheaper and absolutely much better. BTW how do you get the gelatinous Chick-fil-A sauce out of the little square container and onto your sandwich without making a mess. I have been wanting to try Chick-fil-A. I've never been to one and I was pleasantly surprised. Recently opened, the drive-thru was packed with cars so we decided to dine-in. Plenty of tables and all were socially distant apart. We both ordered the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich. My guest had the side of fruit and I have the waffle fries. The sandwich was delicious, the ingredients were fresh and the chicken breast was moist, not dry like "other' places. My only issue was my fries were not freshly cooked, slightly soft and cold. I mentioned it to my guest and low and behold, I was over heard by Jordan, the Operator and he immediately asked me if I wanted a new order. I have to say, Customer service is spot on at this location. I have never been treated so wonderfully. Thank you Jordan and to your crew! Just left chick-Fil-A drive thru, and got our food home. My husband ordered the chicken deluxe meal, and it's almost $14.00, he opens his sandwich and there is NO chicken on it!! We we eating late because we just came back from our grandsons baseball game, and decided on chick-Fil-a. My Son and I walked into Chick-fil-A Salinas for lunch. We were ordering our food, when an employee behind the counter accidentally poured 2 full gatorade cups onto the counter. The gatorade splashed on my son, another customer on the second register and I. I know accidents happen, but in this case the employee laughed, did not apologize and stood there watching us. I asked for napkins and to have someone clean up the mess quickly. I was shocked and upset to the way this situation was handled. My legs and my sons pants were wet and sticky. My son is a military man and didn't want me to say anything.
