I have loved Chik-Fil-A for years. Because one was never close or convenient, it was always a rare treat. Now that there is one in my neighborhood it has been tempting to stop in way too frequently. I love the order-ahead app. Where this location falls apart is the execution and accuracy. As one other reviewer here noted, I have to check my bag carefully before I leave to make sure I get what I ordered. For breakfast I usually order a sandwich without egg, but I usually get it with egg. It's not like I can't or won't eat eggs, it's just frustrating when the food bagger just grabs the first sandwich he sees. It is usually the same young man who messes up my order and I have mentioned it to him on a couple of occasions. My comments are met with a shrug. Also, my custom order rarely includes hash browns, but I always get them in my bag. When I bring this to the young gentleman's attention, I get a spiel about once food has crossed the counter they cant take it back - I should just keep it. So I walk over to the trash and throw them away. What a waste! When I brought this up with the manager on duty, I got both a shrug and a spiel about once food has crossed the counter they can't take it back - I should just keep it. Oh well. At least they are consistent. I'm amazed at how many free coupons they give for all the screw-ups. Extremely slow service!!!! We will NEVER go back. The wait time is extremely long. I really hate to give unfavorable reviews, however the wait time seems to get longer each visit. 11/27/2018 4:30pm. Today I went to chick fila. There was one person in line 1 cashier ringing. 3 employees. 1 employee looked at me 3 times 1 guest was waiting for food, took cashier 7min to take guest order after conversing with guest. I was the only guest in line. After waiting patiently I get my food and there is a piece of weave hair in my food. They do not wear mesh hair bonnets. I got my money back. I will not eat or patronize no chick fila. I am making a complaint to the health department in regards to not wearing gloves or hair bonnets to protect the public from disease and infection control. read more

They get a 1 star rating not because they are completely terrible, but because they fail so horribly in comparison to all other Chick-fil-a restaurants that I have ever been to in my life. I remember when Chick-fil-a was only found in a shopping mall food court, so I've been around long enough to know. I have probably eaten at 30+ Chick-fil-a restaurants throughout the Southeastern United States over the past 20 years alone. Although compared to all the horrible competitors, McD, BK, subway, Tbell, etc, this location was marginally better, but this seemed more like an averagely performing Hardee's. Longer wait than usual, inept/confused single employee at the register. I saw the situation that was about to unfold while we were 10 people back in line. Once it became my opportunity to order, Suemina looked at me like I had 2 heads when I calmly asked for 7 Chick-fil-a sandwiches all prepared the same way. No butter, pickles on the side. That concludes my order. Her response, "So you want 7 meals?" (No). "No butter?, I don't think it comes with butter." (It does, I don't want the butter). "Pickles on the side? I don't think I can ring that up." (You can). The order was prepared correctly by the kitchen staff and came out within a reasonable time frame. One of their employees told my elderly handicapped mother in law that she couldn't sit outside. Most egregious was the condition of the dining room. We planned to take the food to go, but the dining room was completely unacceptable as far as Chick-fil-a standards. Filthy floors, complete with large quantities of trash and uneaten food. The tables all had excessive amounts of crumbs, spilt drinks, slopped sauces, trash, etc. Trash receptacles overflowing. If I lived in DC, I would not eat here. Further, Chick-fil-a should pull this franchise and reassign it to an owner who cares. Otherwise, shut it down. read more

In town on a work trip. Ordered food via Doordash - and they are instructed not to open the bags with the food inside. Got the bag, I was missing items from my order. The delivery man instructed me to call the restaurant. It took them over 20 rings to get to the phone - where a very rude woman answered and basically said they couldn't do anything for me and hung up. I don't know what kind of franchise they are running but it's horrible and not how Chick-Fil-A should be represented. read more

I am an Uber driver on some weekends and was finishing up on an early Saturday morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see Chick-fil-a is now opened in Tenleytown. I walked in and was greeted warmly. This is a great location and the outside seating along with the inside lighting of the restaurant give it a great vibe. Once word gets out that this place is open, I am sure the lines will be out the door. My grilled chicken biscuit was made perfectly. read more

I feel so sorry for the managers and the employees at the Tenley location. Dealing with the obnoxious and unruly Wilson High School students must be awful. I will not go here ever again after 3 p.m. The place backs up and hoards of stoned kids screaming expletives and is way too unpleasant for me. They take over the restaurant with little regard for other patrons. God forbid you don't want your child exposed to their savage behaviors and florid language. They don't even have respect for the police, who were almost always there when I tried to go. I have no issue with the food or the service because I know they are trying their hardest. read more

I love a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. What can I say? (Though I don't like their corporate politics, I still occasionally succumb to the deliciousness.) That said, this location has the worst service I've experienced at any Chick-fil-A. Today, I was standing in line with a couple of other customers, and we talked for a good ten minutes about how poor the service at this location is. This is the worse location ever! I can't believe that they have not lost their franchise. I have been to many locations in the DMV as well as around the Country and one thing you can usually can count on is the same experience but not at this location. I have given the place 4 chances just to make sure it was not a fluke. The store itself is dirty. Dirty tables, floors and chairs. There is trash on and under tables. I have never seen more than one person taking orders and they are very slow think line out the door! Two of the 3 sandwiches I got were ice cold. Finally the location is small with limited seating. 90% of that seating is filled with high school kids congregating and not eating a thing. They are loud and obnoxious you cannot hear yourself think it's so bad! Never ever again. I do not recommend this location. read more

This is my all time favorite fast food place! My family used to take road trips, plotting out CFAs along the way back when we lived in Michigan and CFA stayed down south. Unfortunately,the quality of food and the service have not translated well here in DC. The staff are often rude, unkempt, and snarky. I experienced an issue scanning my One card and multiple staff members gathered around to watch, remark, and laugh since the restaurant was slow. Another time, I waiting almost an hour during breakfast for a catering order which had been called in the day before, which I was told provided ample time to get my order done when I requested it. The place itself just wasn't big enough for the dinner crowd. Soooo many AU students (for obvi reasons. I mean, it is their hood) but when you add in local residents and the other people there for who knows why (maybe they too just had a craving) you hardly have room to wait for your food. Food is good when they're not out of things or have a broken grill. I've been to this location twice for breakfast. The first time, they were out of coffee and the wait to brew more was so long that I just left. The second time, I ordered grilled chicken/egg white sandwich but they didn't tell me until after I had paid and waited five minutes that the grill was broken and they only had fried. Maybe things will get better and waits will be shorter once they've been open a little longer, but for now, I'll just stick with the Panera or the Starbucks next door. read more

Major complaint here. I have been going to this Chick-fil-a since it opened as it is across the street from my work. From day one they have never been able to capture the feel you get at chick-fil-a when the order is taken correctly and made to order efficiently. They have not been able to fix the efficiency issue in the kitchen. In my case I cannot eat meat, as it causes me to become ill. Egg and cheese is pretty much what I order at any given time. Every time I go I ask for the breakfast sandwich (egg whites) no chicken. As soon as I ask for it that small change it becomes a long process at the register. Considerably longer than others. Every time without fail. They say they are "trying to save me money" by ringing it up differently. The process should be abandoned when the time it takes makes this a longer process than it should. Because of the custom order of no chicken the food takes twice as long to come out. The price they charge me is always different because everyone rings it up differently and no one seems to know the right process of excluding chicken. Yet this is not my main complaint, if I have been coming to this location for over a year, they know my name, my order, why did I get back to my office and bite into a chicken and cheese no egg sandwich?!? Very busy a bit chaotic and even messy. That aside 5/5 due to the friendliness of staff. Quick serVice and solid food is a bonus. In fact having just come over from the Starbucks next door and barely being acknowledged the smiling friendly young woman at the counter freaked me out a bit. This Chickfila doesn't have its act together: 1. It takes forever to get your food and as a result, there is always a large crowd waiting to pick up their orders. I've never been to a Chickfila where it takes so long to receive your food. 2. My elderly mom order a "small unsweetened iced tea." At every Chickfila she's been to (in NY, NC, GA, etc.) a senior small drink is free. She was surprised when she received the receipt to see she has been charged for a drink and a medium drink at that. She asked about the senior drink and the employee helping her told her there isn't such thing as a senior drink. Fine, but why didn't he tell her this when she ordered the "small senior unsweetened iced tea?" Also why did he ring it up as a medium? 3. The bathroom code provided didn't work. The bathroom was unoccupied. Also what's up with Chickfila always having tiny bathrooms? I hate how small the ladies rooms are and I've wondered if it's a result of how this company feels about women. 4. My mom ordered a sandwich without any butter and they left off the pickles. 5. The diet lemonade machine has been broken for months now. It was broken when I visited here months ago. I doubt the lemonade machine manufacturer went out of business so why hasn't it been fixed? I ordered diet lemonade and it was served from a container stored in the fridge. It tasted way too sweet for diet lemonade and I have high blood sugar I have to watch for medical reasons. I'm a little suspicious if it was truly made with Splenda and had to throw most of the drink away as I couldn't take a chance. Bottom line - I've eaten at numerous Chickfilas across the country and this location leaves a lot to be desired. Improvement is needed asap. read more

Oh my god, this place is THE WORST! I've ordered thru Postmates to this Chick Fil-A three times in the past few weeks and there is ALWAYS something missing. We've never received cutlery (so that my husband was reduced to eating his salad with his fingers and my daughters had to *drink* their parfait). The third order was the last straw. It was a huge order that totaled over $130 because we had a lot of people to feed. Not only was the cutlery missing (of course), condiments were nonexistent, the drinks were all watery, and three of the meals did not even make it into the bag. I was on a trip to DC recently for US Bank. I went with 4 of my coworkers around 1 PM to try to avoid the main lunch rush. We still waited an hour even though there were only 8 people in front of us. It seems like management needs to whip their employees into shape. I work as a project manager and a 1 hour turn around to make some chicken is unacceptable. There were constant arguments and bickering among employees about who would make the fries or who had to take the buns out of the microwave. One of my coworkers received a half cooked chicken. It was pink in the middle when he bit into it. When he brought it back to the front and asked for another, the employee said he can't do anything because 'you bite it you bought it.' My coworker got scared at the undertones because he didn't think the employee was monkeying around so he just threw away the sandwich and let it go. read more

This is the slowest, most unprofessional Chick-fil-a restaurant I've EVER been to. I tend to never complain about the slow service here, especially when an establishment is super packed but to be ignored and wait in line for a ridiculous amount of time while listening to a high schooler with green hair behind the counter with her back turned to the customers carry on a full conversation with the cook is so reprehensible. As with most chick file a places, this place was rocking with customers. But the wait actually wasn't too bad, especially since the staff are friendly and courteous. I went here mid-week near 9pm and nearly all tables were occupied. I got the original combo number one plus a side salad. The chicken sandwich was plump and juicy and actually less saltier than some chick file a's which I liked. Thw salad was very fresh. The lemonade was a bit tart in the beginning but once the ice started to melt, it tasted refreshing. Overall, I came out very happy and wished more fast food joints had such good food and service at very reasonable prices. read more
