On the whole - the store is fantastic. The managers are very hands on, helpful and responsive - both in front of and behind the counter. When the store is busy, they'll start taking orders while you are in line - which is amazing. Other establishments could learn from chick fil a. They limit sauces, which I found strange. And I wish they had paper towels in the bathroom vs a gross air drier. read more

CFA is one of my go-to fast food places. I'm never really disappointed with my orders here. This location, especially, has fast service and really friendly staff. Their restaurant is also clean and the workers sanitize well! I personally really like the spicy chicken sandwich with waffle fries, chick-fil-a sauce, and Polynesian sauce. I am disappointed with how small the chicken nuggets are so I always avoid ordering them whenever I come here. This place is very COVID-friendly and a great place to grab a bite! read more

This place is one of my favorite fast food places to go to. They have a lot more healthier options than other fast food places. I personally love getting their chicken nuggets, deluxe chicken sandwich, and regular chicken sandwich. Their waffle fries are by far the best fries I have ever had from a fast food restaurant. They also have a large range of sauces that you can choose from. I love the chick-fil-a sauce and ranch; they both go perfectly with the chicken nuggets and fries. They also have a large variety of different drinks. I love their lemonade and frosted drinks. I love getting their frosted drinks as a sweet treat on hot summer days. Lastly, their customer service is by far the best customer service compared to any other fast food chain. All of their workers are super sweet and always trying to make your experience the best as it can be. read more

I always get the chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries. This combo never fails! I typically buy fast food once or twice a week, and I get Chick-fil-A once out of those two times in a week haha! I guess I really do like the chicken sandwich combo. The staff is always so welcoming. Service is quick and efficient. This location is always clean and tidy and neat. Nothing bad to say! Full disclosure, my little brother's first job was @ Chick Fil A. So from time to time, he'd bring home extra sandwiches. Unfortunately the good folks at CFA did not move my brother to DC or give me free sandwiches. Though I am available for free sandwiches. Dorothea, we're not in Texas anymore. When someone told the founder that a fried chicken breast with a two pickles on a lightly buttered roll was so simple, he's reported to have said, "That's why I was able to do it" That's all it is. Pressure fried chicken breast sandwiches. You could get fancy or go for grilled or "Throw some Cheese On It", but why mess with a good thing? Arguably there are other fried chicken breast sandwiches at other places that are as good or better. (I for one can't think of any) The real interesting thing about CFA has always been the service. I'm not exactly sure what they do to unruly Texas teenagers and get them to respond the same way to every customer. But it's eerie. It's actually disconcerting. And all over the South, they all respond the same way. It's like someone came up with a way to brainwash teenagers into constraining their youthful energy and always be cheery. That doesn't happen at McDonald's. You'll even run into surly Whole Foods employees. CFA is the Nordstrom's of the fast food chicken business. So would it work here in DC? Typical DC service is part Southern and part Northern. Southern - Slow and sweet Northern - "Brusque" but efficient So DC is usually Slow and Brusque. What would this Chick Fil A experience be like? *Orders #3, with waffle fries, and lemonade.* *crosses fingers* - Cashier was nice and courteous. - I was informed that they would be out of ketchup until Monday. She did offer me other sauces. - tried to upsell me on the fries, (good job), but missed an opportunity on the chocolate chip cookie. (they're usually great, but I didn't think to ask for one, and don't remember seeing one) - Teenagers were slightly teenaging behind the counter - not sure if that was half a Milly Rock or a smidgen of Dab, but not egregiously like at say Krispy Kreme at Dupont Circle. (oh yeah, shots fired.) Food didn't take long to come out. And the youngsta that brought it to me was nice and courteous with the exchange. Color me astonished. It's CFA, so you know what you're getting in terms of food (delicious chicken!). The service at this location is decent. Compared to other chains, it's good. But compared to other CFA locations, it's a little lacking. I've been a few times for breakfast and it always seems a little disorganized to pick up food. No way any of these good reviews are real. This is a disaster of a chick fil a. Once again proving DC workers are just simply awful even with arguably the best tasting, best paying fast food franchise. Opening week had trainers, managers, etc all humming along and now it's simply an abandoned mess of staff who don't care, are very rude to customers and each other and have no idea how to run a restaurant. I've seen management there and she just walks around cleaning tables and not interacting with any of her staff. It's sad and frustrating. On top of it, the food is getting really bad. Biscuits are soggy mess, chicken isn't breaded properly and has a funny taste. Stay away until they get new management and go to a chick fil a in Virginia. read more

All I'm going to say is the App is your bear friend to order ahead because of the lines and the wait. But the food is always hot once you get your food. I haven't had a bad order since my last review which is a good thing. I normally come with my daughter it's a treat for her. She LOVES the fries. And I just tried for the first time the chicken tortilla soup and it may just be my go to meal even though it's a side item!!! Chick-fil-yay! Disclaimer, I was hyped enough when Chick-fil-A opened in DC to camp outside overnight to be one of the first 100 to enter the store on opening day. It should be pretty obvious that I happen to enjoy it quite a bit, but I'll write a review anyway (though I'm not sure who amongst the Yelp community would read a review on a large chain fast food place like Chick-fil-A). The fried chicken sandwiches (#1) are consistent and tasty. They are more or less as simple as it gets, a piece of fried chicken + a couple small pickles. For fast food, it's good. Not call your foodie friend up good, but definitely hits the spot. The spicy chicken sandwiches (#2) are a step up, essentially a #1 with some added kick behind it. If I wasn't part of the #cfafirst100 getting free #1 meals, I would be ordering spicy chicken sandwiches all day. The grilled chicken sandwich (no idea what the number is .. #5? #6?) is a nice switch up from the fried stuff, and the chicken is still juicy. You also get a piece of lettuce and a tomato so you can pat yourself on the back for being more health-conscious than those fried chicken sandwich people. Nuggets are okay, but kinda pale in comparison to their sandwiches so I don't really get them very often. Fries are waffle-cut. I always feel like they could be fried a bit longer and would end up crispier but oh well. Drink-wise, their sweet tea is good but VERY sweet. You can get half sweet tea, half unsweet tea to balance the flavor a bit which I find helps a lot. Another cool mix is half lemonade, half sweet tea (Arnold Palmers) or just upgrade your drink for an ice cream sundae (just a dollar something extra and it's a huge sundae). No judgment. Sauces: my favorite is the honey-roasted BBQ, which for some reason comes in smaller squeeze packets instead of a wider packet like the rest of the sauces do. The Chick-fil-A sauce used to be my favorite but the more I have it, the more I feel like it's too sweet for me (honey-roasted BBQ is pretty much Chick-fil-A sauce but less sweet and more tangy). FYI, Chick-fil-A sauce is essentially honey mustard + BBQ + either mayo or ranch in case you were curious. Polynesian tastes like the duck sauce you get at the cheap Americanized-Chinese restaurants and I'm not a fan at all but if you like that stuff then no judgment. Everything else is pretty ordinary, like BBQ / ranch / ketchup / buffalo. There's always a long line, but my experiences with it have been pretty good. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 10-15 minutes between getting in line and getting my food. $7 for a burger, side of fries, and a drink is about what I'm willing to pay. Giving it four stars because even though I've had the #1 meal at least 20 times in the past half year, I'm still not sick of it. They must be doing something right. read more

Fist off, I LOVE Chick-fil-A, especially the one near my home in Laurel off 198. However, on Saturday (1/30/2016) evening around 8ish, I stood in line for a 1/2 an hour (only because my mother insisted), while I watched a bunch of cooks in the back (around 4) moving like molasses, ONLY TWO DAMN people on the register while the line was to the door. I watched 2 managers ignore the line and take their time re-stocking the condiment station (EVEN THOUGH THEY ASK AND GIVE YOU THOSE AT THE REGISTER) in the middle of the melee', while another "manager" took his time making milk shakes (ONLY!!!!!!!) at the pace of a sloth. The French fries I received were the exact same ones I saw when I first arrived, sat for 30 minutes and were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to salty. Again I love Chick-fil-A, perhaps this was just 1 bad day, but the managers lack of concern or participation helping the other take or fill orders was offensive. I also wondered why it took 2 grown men to re-fill some condiment packets (huge mis-waste of time). Plus there is no parking. I will avoid but may try again if I am desperate. On a positive: the cashiers were very apologetic & friendly and my sandwich was awesome. read more

By default, chick-fil-a received 5 stars for really being the only quality fast food chain. The location itself gets 5 stars as well. Staff is attentive, the lines are quick (even when out the door), and the entire place is kept flawlessly clean. Thank god lime left the space - there is no competition for Spicy Chicken Deluxe. One day my Sunday cravings for Chick-fil-a will be met. But meh, I can live with out it in the interim. Will definitely be in my rotation on the random craving night. My one suggestion is to keep the store open an hour or so later so we have a place to run too when everywhere else shuts down (Cava, Panda, Chipotle, etc). But that's probably a corporate thing. Was at a Chick-fil-a for the first time. The restaurant was clean and many people were standing in line. The sandwich I had tasted really good. However, their waiting area system is a disaster! They ask for your name, then you have to wait in the designated area until they bring your order. There's no screen and no one is yelling your name so basically they are walking around with your order and guessing who is the person they are looking for. As the cashier forgot my name, they just didn't show up with my order for over 10 minutes and just let it stand around. When I asked for it, they gave it to me but unfortunately my food was already cold. Didn't want to throw it away and thus didn't ask for a new one, though. About 2 months ago I agreed to do the breakfast run for my coworkers and i. Apparently someone forgot to bake enough biscuits. She(I) must have waited for 20 minutes AT LEAST. 20 minutes is like an hour in a fast food place. At breakfast time more like 2 hours. Sheesh! I'm on the clock! I need to GET BACK TO WORK!!!! First time I went to a cfa and didn't experience good customer service; I ordered ahead but still waited in line and when I reached the front the cashier just walked away and started doing side work. So I stood there, while he swept, fixed the carpets and filled the ice, etc. finally a woman walked over to help someone else and I told her about my order. None of the sauces I asked for and the coffee had been sitting out getting cold rather than just making it when we got there. In my experience, not much can go wrong when you're at Chic-fil-a. We were out on a late night run so it was just a little after 9pm on a Friday when we arrived. I'd expected a crowd considering their location. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but one began to form as I was leaving so I am sure people are constantly in and out throughout the night. Even still the dining area was clean and tidy, with just a few tables being occupied by patrons. My entire visit couldn't have been longer than 5 minutes. I experienced the usual quick yet personalized service they're known for, which is always great. I knocked off one star (would have been 1/2 a star if that was an option) only because my milkshake was extremely runny, even the whip cream on top. read more

Visited this location today. Parking was horrible! I drove around for thirty minutes. Only to end up going into the garage anyway. The food and the service was amazing. As I wait items less than five minutes for my food. I noticed the young man putting more supplies in the restrooms, removing the trash, cleaning tables and directing customers. I didn't get the young ladies name that waited on us. But, I've attached the receipt. She was to the far left. Register 6 per the receipt. She would be my reason to revisit more than the food. I wanted to make sure that my review was fair since my initial review was not kind. So I went to this particular location twice. So here is my tempered review: Disclaimer: I am a black man, so a lot of my inferences come from the perspective of an African-American male who grew up mostly in the south... I had a conversation with a friend about not losing faith in black owned or supported businesses, which includes businesses with a majority black staff, so I am not coming from a negative point of view. However, as soon as I entered this particular Chick-Fil-A, I stepped in with the expectation of service to be on par or exceeding that of most Chic-Fil-As I have visited, simply because the entire staff from manager to security was black. Unfortunately, this restaurant was not on par. What I noticed right away was that the tables were not wiped down. (The second visit was much cleaner.) While in line, waiting to place my order, I saw a visibly annoyed manager that was very snarky. (The second visit he was less annoyed, but still full of sass.) lol! I spent a total of $15 for one meal. In comparison to Chic-Fil-As located in Beltsville, Essex, WIndsor Mill, and even Edgewood Maryland, the Columbia Heights location is seriously lacking in customer service. My initial visit was a dine in occasion for over an hour, such as my second, and I hear not one mention of Chick-Fil-As "my pleasure". I mean come on, give me a break! That's like going to MacDonalds and not seeing Ronald MacDonald anywhere in the store. The second visit, I heard it twice from two staff members, also black, that I hadn't seen in my first visit. My initial visit was met with with a fairly long line that almost reached the entrance. For those who had the misfortune of standing in line in front of the bathroom, I would imaging they were sickened by the smell wafting from underneath the doors. Why are bathrooms placed so close to where you would order food anyway? At least you pick up your food on the far end, opposite the bathroom. Thank God, the bathroom was not smelly on my second visit. After ordering my food, I had to wait a little too long for my food. Perhaps, because there were several orders that needed minor changes when the customers checked their food. That annoyed the manager even more. So he had to give disgruntled or confused customers a piece of his mind. My second visit was less crowded and my order was received promptly and i saw the manager only get sassy with only one customer this time. lol! At first, I didn't consider this place a "real" Chic-Fil-A, along the same vein as Bestbuy kiosks at air terminals and malls are not "real" Bestbuys. However, after my second visit, I see that I may have arrived at a bad time, a busy time, with inexperienced staff. I would suggest that the entire staff, including the manager visit the locations i mentioned above for an education in customer service, especially during times of lunch rush or unusually high traffic. I think this Chic-Fil-A can do a lot better. I will continue to visit, because I like the idea of a black owned Chick-Fil-A (which the Operator's photo is posted on the wall.) and I wish Ms.Jessie Chesson the most success for her store. I hope she does the community a favor and improve the customer service at this location. Chic-Fil-A sets a high standard, the location or volume of the restaurant should not change that standard. If the food at this location can be prepared with the same delicious standards asvall Chic-Fil-As, then so can the customer service. read more

Food quality is the same as any other Chikc Fil A. The staff is what I have a problem with. I was in a line and a guy named Parcell came with an iPad and asked me what I wanted. I didn't know what I wanted because I was far from the menu. So I asked him what milkshake flavors they had and he acted so annoyed. He had such an attitude, he spit out the flavors so fast, I could barely understand him. Asked him to clarify something so he rolled his eyes. Maybe it's hard to find good employees in this part of town but this guy, Parcel (or Parcell) is rude and I hope someone at chick fil a sees this review and brings it up. read more

The WORST Chick Fil A! For this location I expected a longer line. I went about 1:30p so I caught the ending of the lunch rush. I ordered a kids meal and a number 2 from a guy w/ an iPad while in line. I proceeded to the counter to pay. While waiting for Apple Pay (which it never did) another customer was complaining about her order. The supervisor was not the most pleasant to the customer. That put me off considering the type of service you expect at Chick Fil A. So after moving to another register and finally paying, I see everyone behind me get their good. So I approach the counter and instead of an apology or some form of care the lady asked what did you order. I told her and she through everything in a bag. I made mentioned that my son had fruit vs fries. With irritation on her face, she switched out the fries. I continued to say thank you and be kind and I was only giving a blank face in return. My sandwich was also incorrect but I didn't want to "bother" anyone else. I would not recommend this location. They may need their free Sunday as a training day. read more

Where can you got to get sausage? Where can you go to get fires? Where can you go to get chick? Is it Ben's Chili Bowl? No! It's...Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A is located in Maryland. What you can get from Chick-Fil-A is a hamburger. In my opinion, Chick-Fil-A is more healthy than any other restaurant. Second, Chick-Fil-A is where you can get a lot of meals. Lastly, Chick-Fil-A is fun because you can choose which food you want. In my opinion, Chick-Fil-A is a better restaurant because they make lots of different food. I believe Chick-Fil-A is the best place for chicken. If you want a chicken sandwich then you should go to Chick-Fil-A. You should go to Chick-Fil-A because they have sandwiches that have tomatoes. Some may argue there are better restaurants than Chick-Fil-A. For example, one could argue Burger King is better than Chick-Fil-A because Burger King has hamburgers. I disagree because Chick-Fil-A has kids meals and chicken sandwiches. I demand you go to Chick-Fil-A because they have healthy food like chicken. I went into this establishment 4 days ago. I have been there before and the food was good. It was the service I have had an issue with. But nothing tops as to what happened when I went in. I recorded he entire conversation I had with one of the employees who took my order. This was on Wed August 17th at 1:00pm. It was slightly packed. Worker: Hi. Is this for dine in or carry out? Me: Dine in please. May I please get a number 1, no pickle, large with a.... Worker: (interrupting) wait do you want just the sandwich or the meal? Me: the meal please. Large with a Diet Coke and no pickles on the sandwich. Worker: I'm sorry.. So you just want the sandwich.. Me: No I would like the meal please Worker: Ok. With what? Me: No pickles and a large diet coke Worker: So you just want the sandwich? Me: ........ Why don't we start over. Worker: (she then rolls her eyes) Me: I would like a number 1, larged, no pickles with a Diet Coke. Worker: so you want the meal.... Me: ..............Yes....... Worker: and what do you want to drink? Me: a large Diet Coke. Worker: you want it large? Me:....... Yes please..... Worker: ok I have a number 1 large with no pickles and a Diet Coke to drink? Me: yes thank you. Worker: and you want it large? Me: ........ I'm sorry... Can you not hear me? Worker: (with attitude) yes sir I can hear you.... Me: ok.... Yes please u would like it larged..... I have friends who work at 2 restaurants and 2 friends who work for corporate and I know they would never stand for this type of customer service. Welp! It finally happened...Chick-fil-A has come to Columbia Heights! I know this is a way late review but I did go on the official opening day earlier this month. It was insane seeing folks line up the day before but when I realized that they were there to be the first 100 or so to get free weekly meals for a year...ok fair enough but I wouldn't have done it myself....and hello it was in the middle of a work week...I do NOT have that kind of time. Anyways, despite the politics mired in Chick-fil-A...all I really wanted was a chicken sandwich and that's that. The restaurant is at a prime location right on 14th near the entrance of DC USA, the actual space is small but long and despite even the line creeping just outside when I went, it moved relatively quickly and I was able to order. The menu is no surprise especially if you have been to a Chick-fil-A and once you pay, you are assigned and given a long colored cup where they put your sauces in. The area you wait can be a bit of a huddle and looks disorganized with people randomly just standing there...but seems like the workers have a system going and they can figure out who you are based on your colored cup. And in starbucks style, they shout your name out if they can't find you. So what did we order: 2 number 1 Chicken bites Vanilla shakes Simple...yet delish. Noooow I just have to go to the gym to work it off. Once again, leave the politics of the national corporation at the door and all you get is really fast food from a local franchise trying to make it work. I applaud this particular franchise though for wanting to step up and ensure their goals of participating and supporting the Columbia Heights neighborhood. read more
