This is a cozy little restaurant in the historic downtown of Eureka MO. There is a small bar with about 10 or so tables to dine. The service was great and the gal took very good care of us. We both got the chili-mac which was a ton of food. However, it was more noodles than chili making it not overly tasty. I smothered it with sour cream to help but it still was nothing to write home about. Plus, they have can soda which is not a favorite either since no refills.

    Biscuit & Gravy

I read somewhere that this place was supposed to have the best breakfast, so it has been on my list to try for awhile. My favorite breakfast item is biscuits and gravy. I stopped in to pickup 1 biscuit and gravy to go to try it out. The server was friendly and the place reminded me of a very small dive bar/diner type place. Unfortunately, the biscuit and gravy was not good. The gravy had a slightly sour taste to it and it didn't have any sausage in it. It looked like it may have been a powder mix type gravy. The biscuit was ok - fluffy but kind of dry. I'm always on the hunt for good B&Gs and these did not make the cut.

Italian Beef Sandwich with Onion Rings

My mom and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Breakfast and lunch menus were both available, but we were in the mood for sandwiches. We both ordered the Italian Beef with a side of onion rings. I admit that I'm a little picky about how others make their Italian Beef, because the one I make is pretty good. ;-) I was pleasantly surprised -- Chick-N-Elly's was delicious!! It was a great choice and a generous size (easily enough for 2 meals unless you're super hungry). The onion rings were perfect, too! Our server was friendly.

This place need to extensively clean the entire restaurant, bathroom and patio. The food has gone downhill & service used to be good.

It makes a lot of sense and I'm sure as this new "normal" continues over the next year that they have space for further growth of the outdoor area. It's enough room for some really creative hardscaping/landscaping that will help grow this business. One of the great things about Larry's Tavern is the food. Had a couple of cheeseburgers that had the right amount of cheese and meat combination along with condiments that made it tasty. It's handmade burgers too so each come out a different size and that adds to knowing it's a great tavern/grill. Larry's surprisingly has a nice selection of beers as well as wine and liquor. Not a fan of A-B since they sold out so I prefer a craft beer or some other brands; LT offers that selection. Wife likes the other beers and seltzers too so they offer a wide selection. Our server/tender/cook/bar tender/cashier was Allie who easily handled the multi-tasking with ease for ourselves and the rest of the patrons. I hope she gets paid well for doing everything. She has a great attitude and always smiling. A nice attribute these days. Lastly, I really like the patrons of LT's. It's a lively group, great music, and a generally fun place for all ages of adults. Best wishes to the patrons, staff and my friends who enjoy Larry's withme.

I arrived in time to watch her grab the burger buns with her bare hands and put them on the grill. I then watched her grab the frozen fries out of the bag with her bare hands and drop them in the basket to cook. I can only imagine how the raw meat was handled but the patties were already cooking when I arrived. Needless to say, the more I thought about it, the more my appetite disappeared. Dive bars are good, but unsanitary handling of food is not. Never again.

It was very loud when we visited, not because of the karaoke, so it was a bit difficult to speak with the bartenders. I guess people were having a good time! There are lots of drink choices at reasonable prices. There is also food, which I didn't try. For the karaoke, you go up to the KJ get into the queue, and then add your songs across the evening for each of your turns. There was quite a variety being sung. You sing in front of the fireplace. There is a little bit of room to dance around the edges but not much. Despite being a "nonsmoking" bar, there were patrons vaping indoors and there was a cigarette smell inside (perhaps wafting in from the smokers outside?). The ladies bathroom was very clean. There is free parking outside in their attached lot, but you might have to get creative if you get there later in the night, as the lot gets crowded. This bar has a fun vibe for your friend group to go blow off some steam, but probably not a good place to take a first date.

We tried the BBQ Sausage platter, and the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Both of them were pretty good and a big portion size. The sausage had a lot of flavor and both meals came out fresh and hot- our favorite side was probably the fries but the potato salad and greens were also good. Service was decent, was sad I couldn't get just a "brisket platter" and only the sandwich, as the brisket platters are apparently exclusive for a "catering menu". Overall, it's a nice, smaller sized bar type restaurant with a stage, so I assume they have live music on certain nights as well.

The food is average, with breakfast being very popular. If you want has browns ask for them high and dry for crispy. French toast is good.
