Although there are 5 fryers, I never saw more than two being used at a time. 3 fry cooks all standing around watching the 2 fryers while tickets piled up and three fryers went unused. The dishwasher rotates between washing dishes and battering chicken. In the same work zone. This is definitely a health code violation. The cashier on Saturday night itched every part of his body while unpleasantly taking customers orders. I watched him scratch his shoulder under his shirt, his neck, elbows, head, face and forearms. The batter is so thick and hard on the chicken it just breaks off in you mouth and you end up eating just a crunchy burnt tasting batter, the place and setting is cool, but the chicken is not good. I LOVE chicken wings, so I was excited to try those offered by Chicken and Wolf. I was VERY disappointed and would not recommend them. As others mentioned, LOTS of batter. I ordered hot and checked with the cashier that he noted "hot". He said he had. My order was to go. I got home and the chicken was marked "mild". Ugh, I should have checked before leaving the venue. The chicken was slimy because of all of the batter. The batter held LOTS of grease. After one bite, I peeled off the batter and had to cook the chicken a bit more. I read several reviews prior to trying this place out and I have to say I agree with alot of people that there is far too much breading on the chicken. I ordered the 3 tenders and fries with the HOT spice level. The actual chicken meat was cooked well; however, the abundance of grease soaked breading made the chicken inedible before removing it. This was disappointing as the spices were on the breading so the spice level wasn't as hot as I had hoped. When there is more flour than chicken it's a big problem. The cayenne fries are very good though. If they work on reducing the amount of flour they coat their chicken in; it would greatly improve the product. read more

Omg so good! I got the vegan chicken sandwich with fries and my fiancé got the regular chicken sandwich and they were both outstanding! Be warned though, medium heat level is HOT! I like spicy foods but next time I'll remember this place means business when it comes to heat! I've been looking forward to eating here for a while since I love spicy food and lone wolf. I ordered the chicken tenders extra-hot and potato salad. Chicken was okay, the breading didn't seem to stick very well and was very greasy, the potato salad was a bit too hard and lacked flavor. They warn you when ordering that their chicken is very spicy and there are no returns... my extra-hot chicken rated slightly above original Tabasco. I did eat all my pickles because they were delicious so there's that. Probably would have enjoyed it slightly more if I hadn't heard all the hype. read more

We ordered the chicken tenders medium and the whole wing meal. The chicken tenders were extremely spicy and it was hard to finish two. I can't imagine what the "hot" and "extra spicy" are like if this is medium heat. Despite the heat the tenders and fries were very good and I might try this place again if not for the way the other food was cooked. The whole wing was dripping blood and looked very undercooked. I took it back and they told me this was normal because of it being bone in chicken. Horrible, overpriced chicken and the staff doesn't care if they get your order wrong.... Ordered a mild sandwich, ended up getting one with a flag sticking out of it that says 'medium'. I try to return it to get another one, and they tell me that they just used the wrong flag. Staff could not have cared less and wouldn't get me another one. Two bites into the sandwich Im sweating bullets. After disassembling the chicken and peeling off the breading, I discover that over half the mass of 'chicken' is just burnt breading soaked in hot sauce. Way too greasy! I ordered the hot vegan sandwich (it was way hotter than I expected, but a good hot) and fries. The sandwich I got looked great, but it was dripping with grease with every single bite. I've honestly never eaten anything so greasy in my entire life. Additionally, the fries were incredibly tough, crunchy, and greasy themselves. I have been to mothers before and not eaten so I was very excited to go and partake in some of this amazing food. I decided on Chicken & The Wolf and we ordered and the help at the counter was very attentive and explained everything. After we ordered my friends saw a salad that was out of this sight so he went to go get one of those. I strolled down to Mr. Nice Guys for some amazing Mac and Cheese and we are still standing there waiting on our chicken with our mac and cheese and our salad while watching the cooking crew at Chicken & The Wolf dancing around with each other. I was then 18 mins from the time we placed our order staring at them with stink eyes because my mac is getting cold and they just then put down some fries. They had a huge basket of chicken cooked and after 20 mins from placing my order they are just now putting down the fries? Then the girl who assembles the order finishes filling up her shakers to assemble my order we are going on 25 mins at this point. All the while the mid 20's staff are joking, laughing, avoiding my stink eye and talking about how they can't wait to get off to go out. I am fuming at this point. I had asked for extra pickle and when I finally got the food the pickle was so gross. The fries were not cooked all the way and soggy and the Chicken was brick hard on the outside so I took chiseled through the crust and ate the chicken and it was amazing. I know it is hard to find good help. Believe me.... I do this for a living. But it might be good for the owner to drop by at night occasionally to see the mess and poor service of their associates. read more

And to add insult to injury, they refuse to offer the traditional hot-chicken accompaniment of plentiful ranch dressing. This was such a disappointment. The mother road market is a great addition to tulsa so we decided to check it out. The line by chicken and the wolf was very long, which was probably the reason we decided to try it despite the reviews on Yelp. Big mistake. Listen to the reviews. I had the traditional leg and breast mild chicken, while hubby had the Nashville sandwich. Jesus, the chicken was literally soaked in oil. We're Pakistanis and in case you didn't know, Pakistani and Indian food is FULL of oil. But this was another level. As my husband lifted up his sandwich and took a bite, the oil literally kept dripping from the other end. I kid you not. My chicken was laid on a piece of bread and I couldn't have it because it was literally soaked with oil from the chicken. It was so so icky. The fries were ok and i liked the zesty ranch dip they had but man the chicken oily. There are so many other options that you can try. Try to stay away. read more

The vegan sandwich at this place is amazing, definitely the best in Tulsa. I saw a few reviews saying the sandwiches are to greasy, that's a bunch of crap. If you're going to complain about grease, maybe you shouldn't order a sandwich deep fried in grease. Also people complaining about heat... there is literally a sign explaining the heat, so if you ordered something to hot that's your fault deal with it. Limit it to three per person per order for free and get on with it instead of trying to nickel​-and-dime people for 50 cents a pop. Come on!!!! - Greasy chicken. - There are real problems with the batter staying attached to the chicken. You can see what the problem is by watching the process over the cook's shoulder. There needs to be a simple and obvious added step that they either don't know about or don't want to afford. In either case, I'm not going to go so far as to share it as they should be smart enough by now to have figured it out and I'm not being paid to be a food consultant. The bottom line...the batter needs some refining and they obviously don't see the need or the issue. - Refine the sides. The potato salad is wet and mushy. The cole slaw has no taste.
