You want great fried chicken? Look no further than here. The breading on the wings was absolutely amazing. A great crunch that stuck to the meat and kept the sauces on neatly. I had wings with three different sauces, namely their original Hot, their Buffalo Lime Cilantro and their Sesame Soy. The Hot had that nice little bit of heat (you can go hotter if you wish, something I may do next visit) and a welcoming red color that made the dish look all the more inviting. The Buffalo Lime Cilantro had a great acidity to it that made it a pretty sharp sauce. The Sesame Soy tasted just like the best of the Sesame Chicken you'd find in Chinese-American restaurants. Even while they were flooded with people, the employees were polite and dedicated, not once caving under pressure (and believe me, this place was hopping when I was there). It's fresh and always looks clean(the salad bar) the only other complaint I have I think is that the salad bar isn't all you can eat and that the tables are disgustingly sticky. Continously cutting corners award goes to -- chicken bonz!!! Prices seem to go up monthly. Drinks are smaller, water cups are tiny as hell, sauces on the side seem so skimpy than when they first opened, no more wet naps, no dum-dums, sauce on wings is hit or miss. The bonz I swear keep getting smaller. All you can eat is 13.25 now and the first basket dropped from 10 to 7 wings and every basket after went from 5 to 4. I swear I used to tell my friends how big the wings are at this place and make sure every one tries this restuarant out but now I am getting baby wings and refer people across town for a good wing fix. Wasn't quite sure what to make of this place. Being that once upon a time I worked at a wing shop in Buffalo NY (home of the Buffalo wing), I am very critical of most folks' wings. I tried three types of wings here: Hot BBQ: best of the thee, decent spicy BBQ flavor, no crappy "liquid smoke" used Honey BBQ: somewhat flavorless and gross, tasted like tangy corn syrup Teriyaki: not bad but not great. they would be way better if there was a stronger teriyaki flavor I did not get a chance to try the "Hot" flavor, but from what I gathered they used the traditional "Red Hot" sauce found in Buffalo hot wings. The all you can eat wings for just $11.95 was a good value (the webpage still says $9.95). The wings seemed to have a light breading/coating of some sort before they were deep fried. Not what I was expecting but it did not bother me at all. Ok now I'm sorry but I just have a hard time taking any places that have a Z in their name replacing the letter S seriously. BonZ? SideZ? Puuulease. I feel like it something straight out of the movie Idiocracy. I don't know, I just found it exXxtremely annoying if you how what I mean. Also, another non food related gripe I have with this place is the cleanliness. It seemed like damn near everything I touched was sticky! Underneath the table, my chair, the bathroom door, etc. I know this is a wing place but come on. I wonder when the last time they sponged it down? First off, I have had better wings. I grew up in Vegas, and Ive traveled alot and tried many wing places, as I love wings. That being said, I enjoy Bonz!These are the best wings I have had in Oregon. I have had the Bonz and the Bonzlezz ( chicken tenders) I typically have the Bonzlezz now, as they are easier to eat and a better deal in my opinion. Be sure to get them wet though, otherwise you don't get enough sauce and they arent nearly as good. The staff has always been friendly. The two times we actually ate in the place we did notice that everything was sticky. But, its a wing place not a 5 star establishment. I guess I lower my standards for some places, but it seemed that all staff is clean and groomed, and that the front area, salad bar, and what I could see of the kitchen were very clean and thats what matters. Plus, when you have leftovers, the staff wraps it up very creatively. Put a smile on my face when I went to eat it the next day. I enjoy the medium and the hot sauce, although the mild has a somewhat fake butter aftertaste. My mouth is on fire after the third or fourth bite though, so I don't care by that point. Love the burn! By far though, my favorite sauce is the spicy BBQ. I usually get this sauce, and a side of the medium or hot sauce too. The Teriyaki is ok, the sweet BBQ is ok. I didn't care for the parmesan garlic, as it wasn't really a sauce. It was just dry wings with some grated parmesan cheese and some garlic powder. I like my Bonz wet. The only side I have tried is the fries. I do not like fries usually, but I love the fries here. They are thin and delicious. In fact, after trying the fries, I dont want to try the other sides, because I have to have the fries . Who cares about how they spell things.It is a fun place, and they have some good deals. The waitstaff is great, and the one time I spoke with the owner/manager, he was very nice as well. Chicken Bonz is the place to go to if you want some yummy wings! I always get the boneless with the parmesan garlic seasoning and a sauce on the side. I really like the teriyaki and sesame soy sauce. Last time I tried the sweet & sour and it was okay. Probably won't get it again, though. Burgers are great but my favorite thing is their fries with that delicious seasoning. Oh and ranch and fry sauce. SO GOOD. One thing I'm not to excited about is their prices. They used to be pretty reasonable but within the last couple months I think they've raised the prices again. Also, it would be nice if there was more seating. I understand the old school arcade games adds to the atmosphere of the place, but how often are they actually played? When we walked in it was a little after the lunch rush, but there was still quite a few people here. I was looking at the menu and asking about the sauces and the cashier seemed very annoyed that I wasn't ready to order right away. My boyfriend asked for 12 boneless wings, and always specifies boneless because he can't stand to pick through bones. When we got the order it had traditional wings. When we told them that our order was wrong the two ladies got frustrated and told us that we were wrong because we asked for boneless wings instead of boneless chicken tenders. Then they threw away the traditional wings in front of us. Wasting food always hurts my feelings. Even though they made a mistake they gave us major attitude and told us that they would be making our order last and that we'd have to wait until everyone received their order first. This was frustrating because the order already took 20 minutes and then my boyfriend had to wait another 20 minutes. I had to wait with him because I didn't want to eat in front of him and we had been at the lake all day so we were starving. We were very nice but were met with rude and resistant customer service. The wings were decent but they would've tasted better if we didn't have to deal with the workers there. I would recommend calling in your order and maybe have them read back your order because if they get it wrong your wait could double in time. Also if they mess up an order they should at least give you the wrong order instead of throwing it in the trash, what a waste. I want to give this place 4 stars but when we got the boneless wings they gave them a couple shakes of their lemon pepper which made it taste bland and the the bbq sauce was on the side and they only gave us one side of bbq sauce but I didn't want to deal with them anymore so we just left. Best place I have been for wings in the greater Eugene area. $1 bud light draft $13 all you can eat wings $2 for a solid basket of fries, $4 for a huge one Now don't get me wrong, $13 is some money, but for legitimate all you can eat cooked to order wings by the basket with your choice of sauces from a friendly staff it is not unreasonable. Service was quick, and once they realized I was running through wings like a champ they kept coming back asking if I was ready for a new basket. The Damn Hot, Hot, Medium, and Spicy BBQ were my favorite (I like my hot wings hot). The Lemon Pepper was my least favorite because it isn't a sauce, just overly salty lemon pepper on dry wings. I haven't had the bonzless, but they looked solid - lightly breaded and to your table hot and fresh. I mentioned it before, but the service was really great. The ladies in the front room were about business getting people what they needed, making sure your food was good, and cleaning tables as soon as they were open for the next people.
