I came in here with my husband yesterday afternoon for dinner. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, so the first available Tuesday we had open, we made it a point to go here. Restaurant is clean, welcoming, and has a nice vibe to it. A definite asset in the revitalization of downtown Springfield. Bartender/waitress was kind and attentive, did an excellent job. Nothing fabulous or memorable, she just did her job and did it well. We order fried cauliflower, which was delicious. But I also have a weakness for fried cauliflower. Lol. Burgers, my husband really liked his. I didn't get to try it because it was far too big and messy to put down or try to share. I ordered a basic cheeseburger with extra pickles and added avocado to it. Both were cooked medium well, but definitely not over cooked, although I prefer mine far more rare than that, but that's a personal preference. Complaints... beer menu has to be accessed through a QR code being scanned on my phone. I'm getting old and set in my ways, and I refuse to use my phone during meals. So scanning any kind of code basically just means I'm not going to do it. Which is potentially a missed opportunity in sales for them. Second complaint is the buns on our burgers were not toasted. In fact, they were straight up cold. I have a thing against soggy buns. Would I return? For the cauliflower and other appetizers? Maybe. Beer, no, because of the QR code thing. Burgers, definitely no. Here's what gets me about this place, it was good. Nothing wrong with it, honestly. But I wanted great, and I didn't get it. There was nothing memorable to write home about. My husband called it "satisfying" and I'm always like, so is McDonalds or a frozen dinner if you're hungry enough. Lol. Which is kind of how I view this place, if I hadn't written the review, I'd have already forgotten it existed. It's basic. Pumpkin spice and Ugg boots kind of basic. But in this day and age with inflation and what I spend just to go out to dinner, I want great every single time. read more

Our favorite new eatery and we live in Eugene! Always worth the 20 minute drive and The Pedaler has a cool relaxed Gen X feel to it. That's right folks, if you're 35-55 you'll love this place! Lots of great 80's skateboarding, punk rock, snowboarding, and hockey nostalgia with an old school lean. The menu is diverse for all dietary types, the prices are ridiculously cheap, and the food quality is par none. We come here 1-2 times a week because it REALLY is that good. This place has a great theme and if you didn't guess it by the name, it's all things wheels. Namely bikes and skateboards that I could see, but is a really good idea considering the popularity of both items in the Willamette Valley. And we have plenty of sports bars but none with this theme! I enjoyed looking at all the paraphernalia while we dined. We came in on a Saturday evening but slightly before the rush. Seemed like there was the bartender and one other server at the time. We were helped pretty quickly and the wait didn't seem long for our group of 6 to get drinks or food. Menu had decent variety but I opted for a simple cheeseburger. I was pleased to see that their dishware appears to be all secondhand (i.e. nothing matched). I think this is a great idea for so many reasons. Anyway, their fries are kind of steak-fry style but somehow they're better. Most steak fries are so boring and too mushy for me, but these were great. The burger was decent, not 5 star but definitely nothing bad about it either. Exactly what I wanted and better than just a bar burger. They were starting to get busy as we were wrapping up dinner, and I noticed their trivia night poster on the way out. Sounds like fun, so I will probably need to return. read more

I somehow have missed this spot before. I went there for dinner with friends, before a show. The table service was friendly and attentive. The food was also excellent. It has a sports bar grill feel, with TVs, fun decor, a couple pinball machines and a pool table so I was expecting the typical fried bar food. But the menu was definitely better than "the usual". My husband and I came here for one of their Thursday Trivia Nights and we had a blast. Upon first entering you get the vibe of it being a sports bar with the walls being ordained with skateboards and bicycles hanging from the ceiling. However, this is anything but that. In fact, it's the clever and witty Canadian comedy series, LetterKenny ,that circulates on the televisions here. I was very happy to see a tiny section on the menu dedicated to mocktails. It's only a couple of options, but that's two more than most places. I ordered both choices but my favorite is The Peach One because it reminded me of a bellini. My husband was very pleased with their whiskey menu. He went with a sake whiskey and I have never seen him so giddy over a drink before. We shared a couple of appetizers, frickels and a dipper/sweet potato fries combo sprinkled with some parmesan cheese. Now, I usually HATE pickles, but I LOVED these frickels. Maybe it's because they were deep fried and then dipped in a side of ranch. My favorite were the dipper fries which were fries that were thick and flattened making them perfect for dipping, hence the name. Highly recommend getting those with the parmesan cheese. From the look of things they have trivia every Thursday with a sprinkling of themed trivia throughout each month. I am excited to come back here and introduce this place to our friends. read more

Went to check it out on an early-ish Saturday night. Our first time here. First thing I noticed were the long tables with wooden benches (not too comfortable to sit in for a long time) and high top tables in the middle. None were busy. The decor is sports-related, bicycles and snow boarding mainly. Pretty cute. We ordered an appetizer that was truly delicious: chicken Gordon bleu bites (deep fried balls of chicken with bacon and cheese). Very tasty!! Then we split an order of fried chicken tenders on a biscuit. The chickens was tender, the biscuit was fresh and that was the problem.... It totally fell apart trying to bring it to my mouth. I had to resort using a fork to get all the bits and pieces. Delicious but hard to eat. I had a blackberry habanero margarita which was one of the better margaritas I have tasted in a long time: spicy but with a hint of sweet and a beautiful color. I saw how they made it, well done!! Service was attentive. The bar/restaurant itself is on the busier part of Main Street, we only counted two unhoused people on the sidewalk when we parked 2blocks away, of which one was trying to engage us. But it being in a busier part of town, I never felt unsafe. read more

I'm not one to just walk into a random place if I haven't heard about it or AT LEAST looked up reviews online. Yesterday, I was walking over to a food truck nearby that happened to be closed. On the way there, my attention was grabbed by this restaurant/bar that was just opening up for the day. I'm not really into bikes or boards, but it still looked like an interesting spot. Since the food truck was closed and we were hungry, I asked my wife if she just wanted to eat inside The Pedaler. I wasn't very serious though. I thought she'd say no because we're not really into these kind of sports and were craving Mexican food at the time... but to my surprise, she said OKAY. I looked at the menu from the outside and it sounded like it could be good. So we went for it..... As soon as we walked in, I could tell they were just opening up for the day. There was no one inside except the bartender and someone else setting up (who I assume is the owner because he was putting together all the little details to open up the place). At first glance, the place looked new. I had never heard of this spot and it looked clean, fresh, had a bit of a modern vibe with a sporty feel. We were greeted and the bartender was very friendly and welcoming. We sat down, glanced at the menu, and I was so excited and quite surprised to see they had Fernet! Not only did they have the classic Fernet Branca, but they had another one from San Francisco which is really good and hard to find in my opinion. I ordered a glass of that with coke and it was delightful. The bartender prepared it just right. My wife and I were pretty hungry, so everything looked good, but I was especially drawn to the Baja Burger. I can't remember the name of her plate, but it was a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered the side of sweet potato fries and she got the Parmesan fries. The gentleman setting up was putting out some Halloween decorations, which was really nice to see! It's always nice to see people putting in the little details. Each table also had a little trick or treat basket with chocolates inside! Like, WHAT?? Who does that??? Obviously they do, and I'm here for it! That right there is the "little details" that I'm talking about. They make a difference in the guest experience. The food came out pretty fast since we were the only ones there. I can't speak on how it would be during a busy time, but I was content with it. I don't know how to explain it, but I could tell the food was going to be really good just by looking at it once it made its way to our table. I took one bite and that was it. I knew I'd be coming back. Everything tasted just right. The textures, the flavors, the appearance, it just checked all the right boxes for me. I tasted my wife's chicken sandwich and it was just as good. That grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked so well, that it's probably my new favorite grilled chicken sandwich. The parmesan fries looked amazing. They didn't look like your typical bar fries. They were hand cut/sliced, seasoned well, and cooked just right. I wish I could have taken a picture but I got too caught up on eating. Overall, it was a really great early dinner and I know I'll be coming back. The ONLY downside is that they had such a great liquor selection, but they didn't have any Malibu. Sure, they have better rums, but for those that really like the sweet coconut rum flavor, Malibu is a must have. My wife was also craving a latte. They did have a coffee/espresso machine, but they were out of milk at the time. No biggie, but I would like to see those two things in the future (coffee and Malibu). I know there aren't MANY people that go to a bar and order a latte or a coffee, but we're out there! :) I know where I'll be recommending my friends for food and drinks next time we want to get together. read more

I like the place, I really do. Food was good, the place was clean... but service is a HUGE factor for me when it comes to a restaurant. Unfortunately, I have NEVER in my life had such an uncomfortable experience with a bartender. To the owner of this establishment: I would have a serious talk with the woman bartender with the long black ponytail or she's going to scare off paying customers with her out right rude attitude. We were supposed to be there to have fun and enjoy the VPR watch party, but instead we were treated as if WE were putting HER out by wanting to order something. Gave this place a quick try and I was really impressed! I had the PNW salad with lox which was very very good and just to cancel out that healthy choice, our table shared the poutine skillet which was even more amazing. They offer some very nice outdoor seating on the sidewalk which is where we sat and enjoyed some nice weather. While I'm not a cyclist or biker, I really think the theme is awesome and sets itself apart, too. Lastly, they have a totally legit bar. I had a spicy marg which hit the spot! read more

Such a fun restaurant! We dined here while visiting family in Eugene. We started with the Brussels sprouts which were done perfectly. We ordered a variety of sandwiches and burgers, all of which were delicious. I had the caprese avocado stack which was fantastic! I'd never thought about avocado with the traditional caprese ingredients but it really worked. I also thoroughly enjoyed the veggie medí burger and would go back just to have that again. Sad to say Springfield restaurants come and go but The Pedaler is a keeper. I love the ambience of bikes and skateboards and the bar is really pretty. I appreciate that the high top table chairs have backs on them. So much better for ones back. As a foodie I thought the food was very good and I will definitely be going back. I also wanted to give a shout out to Missy O, our waitress. She was the only server and bartender and was VERY busy but met our requests pretty promptly and with a smile on her face. Great bar and restaurant! Staff is friendly and they have a great selection of food and drinks. Bike friendly with indoor bike racks! Some Fridays they have DJs spinning some tunes, but it never seems overly loud. Lots of "alternative" sports on the TVs for a bit of variety. Love this place!! read more

We tried The Pedaler (yes, drove there, but the concept is great if you want to bike) last night for the first time, and were impressed. We started with some great cocktails and the Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites (delicious), then had the Smoked Turkey Club (available as a wrap which is how we ordered it) with garlic parmesan fries (their fries are "dippers" and these were fantastic), and a cookie skillet for dessert (brownie - oh, my, the perfect small dessert). We shared everything and they were very accommodating with extra plates, etc. Sat outside with lots of others who were also enjoying themselves. We tried this place because we had a gift certificate, and we are very glad we did. We'll definitely be going back and recommending other people try it. read more

Nice bar, good food. Service was excellent. Looks like you can hang your bike up inside if you're worried about it getting grabbed while eating which is kinda brilliant. Might check out trivia one of these nights. read more
