    Chicken Cordon Bleu bites
    Hana W.

I somehow have missed this spot before. I went there for dinner with friends, before a show. The table service was friendly and attentive. The food was also excellent. It has a sports bar grill feel, with TVs, fun decor, a couple pinball machines and a pool table so I was expecting the typical fried bar food. But the menu was definitely better than "the usual". The chicken cordon bleu bites were particularly good. I expect I'll be back.

My husband and I came here for one of their Thursday Trivia Nights and we had a blast. Upon first entering you get the vibe of it being a sports bar with the walls being ordained with skateboards and bicycles hanging from the ceiling. However, this is anything but that. In fact, it's the clever and witty Canadian comedy series, LetterKenny ,that circulates on the televisions here. I was very happy to see a tiny section on the menu dedicated to mocktails. It's only a couple of options, but that's two more than most places. I ordered both choices but my favorite is The Peach One because it reminded me of a bellini. My husband was very pleased with their whiskey menu. He went with a sake whiskey and I have never seen him so giddy over a drink before. We shared a couple of appetizers, frickels and a dipper/sweet potato fries combo sprinkled with some parmesan cheese. Now, I usually HATE pickles, but I LOVED these frickels. Maybe it's because they were deep fried and then dipped in a side of ranch. My favorite were the dipper fries which were fries that were thick and flattened making them perfect for dipping, hence the name. Highly recommend getting those with the parmesan cheese. From the look of things they have trivia every Thursday with a sprinkling of themed trivia throughout each month. I am excited to come back here and introduce this place to our friends.

Biscuit with chicken tenders, and sweet potato fries

Went to check it out on an early-ish Saturday night. Our first time here. First thing I noticed were the long tables with wooden benches (not too comfortable to sit in for a long time) and high top tables in the middle. None were busy. The decor is sports-related, bicycles and snow boarding mainly. Pretty cute. We ordered an appetizer that was truly delicious: chicken Gordon bleu bites (deep fried balls of chicken with bacon and cheese). Very tasty!! Then we split an order of fried chicken tenders on a biscuit. The chickens was tender, the biscuit was fresh and that was the problem.... It totally fell apart trying to bring it to my mouth. I had to resort using a fork to get all the bits and pieces. Delicious but hard to eat. I had a blackberry habanero margarita which was one of the better margaritas I have tasted in a long time: spicy but with a hint of sweet and a beautiful color. I saw how they made it, well done!! Service was attentive. The bar/restaurant itself is on the busier part of Main Street, we only counted two unhoused people on the sidewalk when we parked 2blocks away, of which one was trying to engage us. But it being in a busier part of town, I never felt unsafe.

I'm not one to just walk into a random place if I haven't heard about it or AT LEAST looked up reviews online. Yesterday, I was walking over to a food truck nearby that happened to be closed. On the way there, my attention was grabbed by this restaurant/bar that was just opening up for the day. I'm not really into bikes or boards, but it still looked like an interesting spot. Since the food truck was closed and we were hungry, I asked my wife if she just wanted to eat inside The Pedaler. I wasn't very serious though. I thought she'd say no because we're not really into these kind of sports and were craving Mexican food at the time... but to my surprise, she said OKAY. I looked at the menu from the outside and it sounded like it could be good. So we went for it..... As soon as we walked in, I could tell they were just opening up for the day. There was no one inside except the bartender and someone else setting up (who I assume is the owner because he was putting together all the little details to open up the place). At first glance, the place looked new. I had never heard of this spot and it looked clean, fresh, had a bit of a modern vibe with a sporty feel. We were greeted and the bartender was very friendly and welcoming. We sat down, glanced at the menu, and I was so excited and quite surprised to see they had Fernet! Not only did they have the classic Fernet Branca, but they had another one from San Francisco which is really good and hard to find in my opinion. I ordered a glass of that with coke and it was delightful. The bartender prepared it just right. My wife and I were pretty hungry, so everything looked good, but I was especially drawn to the Baja Burger. I can't remember the name of her plate, but it was a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered the side of sweet potato fries and she got the Parmesan fries. The gentleman setting up was putting out some Halloween decorations, which was really nice to see! It's always nice to see people putting in the little details. Each table also had a little trick or treat basket with chocolates inside! Like, WHAT?? Who does that??? Obviously they do, and I'm here for it! That right there is the "little details" that I'm talking about. They make a difference in the guest experience. The food came out pretty fast since we were the only ones there. I can't speak on how it would be during a busy time, but I was content with it. I don't know how to explain it, but I could tell the food was going to be really good just by looking at it once it made its way to our table. I took one bite and that was it. I knew I'd be coming back. Everything tasted just right. The textures, the flavors, the appearance, it just checked all the right boxes for me. I tasted my wife's chicken sandwich and it was just as good. That grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked so well, that it's probably my new favorite grilled chicken sandwich. The parmesan fries looked amazing. They didn't look like your typical bar fries. They were hand cut/sliced, seasoned well, and cooked just right. I wish I could have taken a picture but I got too caught up on eating. Overall, it was a really great early dinner and I know I'll be coming back. The ONLY downside is that they had such a great liquor selection, but they didn't have any Malibu. Sure, they have better rums, but for those that really like the sweet coconut rum flavor, Malibu is a must have. My wife was also craving a latte. They did have a coffee/espresso machine, but they were out of milk at the time. No biggie, but I would like to see those two things in the future (coffee and Malibu). I know there aren't MANY people that go to a bar and order a latte or a coffee, but we're out there! :) I know where I'll be recommending my friends for food and drinks next time we want to get together.

The profile looked pretty cool so we decided to go there for a drink. Once inside, it was pretty dark which is typical for a Tiki Bar. The decor was very good and there was a lot of it around. My fave was the mermaid skeleton above our seats. The drinks options were plentiful and they even had jello shots for a bargain price (we had a few of these for good measure!). I had The Monkey's Paw classic drink and another in our party had The Invisible Man drink. Each was lovingly prepared by the bartender who was super cool with the prep and conversations we had with him. I loved walking around and looking at all the decor on the walls and ceiling. There's a lot to see. There's even a door that leads to a courtyard with several food trucks ready to serve you. There is a stage near the entrance for bands and a small dance floor. I would love to return one evening to check out the atmosphere and do a little boogeying! Give this place a try. It's a well done Tiki Bar and one of the better ones I've been to.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole.
