I often come here for lunch to get either beef kabab or lamb sushi kebab. It comes with soup or salad. I get salad during the summer and soup, lentil soup, in winter. Both are really fresh and tasty!! Pita bread they bring out with to different kinds of sauce are really nice and warm. Friendly staff, serves fast, clean restaurant, lots of seating space. My only thing is that it looks like it's closed when you are looking from outside. Do not hesitate to come in, it's wide open and food is delicious! Oh, if you like spicy try asking for hot sauce. Ordered the falafel dishes which came with rice and salad. Also ordered tabouleh as an appetizer. Was in utter shock when the food tasted like hospital food with no flavoring. It seems as though even the rice didn't have salt. The falafels had no taste and the tabouleh only tasted like parsley. Seemed like they forgot the other ingredients within the food. Not sure if reviews are helpful as I ignored the negative ones and gave this place a try... well lesson learned. Food quality was mediocre since the lamb and chicken were as dry as the waiter and cashier's personalties. The chicken gyro was well prepared and tasty. We ordered take out here and it was the most bland Greek food I have ever tasted. Meat was dry and did not look appetizing. I sent a picture on snapchat and someone replied "ew looks bad." Well you do eat with your eyes and the 2 chicken dishes: gyro/kebab were SO MEDIOCRE. They did not even get the white sauce right (flavorless - you can make better at home), and undercooked rice with peas is not fun to eat. Low key Mediterranean food spot located right off of the LIE. Excellent food. Sandwiches are an especially excellent value. Service is always friendly and reliable. Parking is non-existent so check out across the street at the bank (after it closes for the night). No matter what we have ordered over the years, nothing has been a disappointment. * Mary had a little lamb, and I ate it..... * The Turkish owner of this down to earth spot used to work at a Cypriot restaurant in Port Washington, and opened up this restaurant using many of the same recipes (and improving upon them apparently). It offers some typical Cypriot dishes with a heavy Turkish and Greek influence. I ordered the lamb shish kebab lunch special. It included a fairly large salad which had iceberg and romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, dill, green onions, a generous portion of feta cheese and an olive. It was a chopped salad dressed in a really pleasant Greek style dressing. Delicious. The salad came with a freshly grilled piece of pita as well as two dipping sauces. The yogurt based sauce had a healthy dose of fresh garlic as well as mint. This sauce was amazingly delicious. The second sauce was tomato based, served hot, and had fried onions giving a lovely sweetness to it. Nice contrast between the sauces, and they made for an excellent addition to the lamb that was served a bit later. The lamb arrived on a skewer with onions and bell peppers. It had about 8 large chunks of boneless lamb. A very generous portion. The lamb was nicely charred on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. Delicious! It was served with rice and peas. The rice and peas were subpar. But the lamb entirely made up for it! I flavoured my rice and peas with the two sauces and they got to the point of tasting ok as well. But oh, the lamb! Rounding out the meal was galaktaburiko which was a nice custard baked inside of phyllo dough and covered in a honey syrup. The custard was a little too firm for my taste, but the flavours were good overall. Don't expect any sort of fancy surroundings, but it is a definite repeat for the food! read more

A visit to this place got me to write my first Yelp review. Was recommended by a friend and had high expectations as we both know amazing authentic Greek, Mediterranean food. I ordered the chicken Gyro platter. When served I was disgusted by the meat as they were clearly frozen strips of chicken heated and served over rice. NOT AUTHENTIC! My sister ordered the gyro platter which had mix of lamb and beef and when we asked w/o beef, waiter said it was mixed. In what world do you get lamb and beef mixed? Of course only in frozen strips of meat. Parents ordered the lamb and chicken kebab which was better than the gyro. Just a tip, authentic gyro/doner should contain FRESH meat vertically sliced. I have had excellent authentic Greek food before, and this is definitely not it. Walking in, there was a nice atmosphere and the menu looked fantastic. However, the experience went downhill from the second after we ordered. Although the place was virtually empty and the place was vastly overstaffed, our service was beyond terrible. Our waiter was the only one that spoke English and was very unattentive. Then there's the overpriced, dry food. I had the house kebab and the chicken was overly dry and the steak was like leather. My friend had the lamb gyro, which she claimed to be the worst gyro she ever had. Safe to say I'll never be returning here. The zagat rated sign got me. I had an hour to kill and lunch to eat. I chose the souvlaki special at the waitress' recommendation. It was a $12 eating adventure. Little did i know. The little salad was fresh and the cheese delightful. The pita bread was warm to the touch. Then came the excitement. The lamb was sliced super thin snd the edges were curling in. Dry? Old? I was willing to forge forward. I added yoghurt and red sauce. It was tastless. I then moved to on to the peas and rice. Tbat's when i found a gray hair in the food. The waiter denied it was a hair. Covid has not been easy on restaurants, to say the very least. If you're lucky enough to still be open then the frustration of operating in a prohibitive and constantly-changing environment must be unnerving. This is not lost on me, and my heart goes out to all those struggling kitchens and the employees who've devoted countless hours to making the necessary safety adjustments. From the outside you would think it is a order at the counter place, but it is actually quite nice inside. They give you pita bread appetizers with two sauces. I ordered a spinach pie for $4.50. It's a good appetizer for two. The pie was nice and flaky. I also had a falafel sandwich for $7.50. That I ate half of because I had a whole spinach pie to myself. The falafel sandwich had three falafels in it. And they brought sauces for it. My uncle had a kofte plate prices at $13.50. Not sure what kofte is but there were three long looking pieces of meat that he happily finished over a bed of rice with a side of peas. We finished the diner with a tartufo priced at $5.25. That dessert is big enough for two. It's basically an ice cream dessert covered in a hard chocolate shell. There was a piece of cherry and some almond slivers. Love! Love! Love this place! I've been coming here for over 15 years and have never been disapointed by the food. The owner is a bit nasty but I almost don't care because the food is so good! I don't work in the area anymore but wanted to show my new co-workers how delicious this place is. I spent my whole lunch hour on the commute but it was so worth the drive.
