Not sure why my review was deleted the first time, but I will repost it now because I've had similar poor treatment at more than Chicken Maison restaurant. My review: Not a half of a star. The owners and upper management here are thieves; they are also unethical and racist. I am NEVER one to pull the race card, but I will explain. I am white, and my daughter is black -- we have both been there multiple times. Upon first visit, my daughter and I were treated VERY differently. The manager here looked her up and down, and then refused to answer her or make eye contact when she was asking questions about pita, garlic sauce, etc. I asked him the same, and he treated me with a smile. My daughter is a kind, intelligent, proper young lady, so I know she gave him no reason for any rudeness. I gave her the drink cup I bought, and she put water in the drink cup, and soda in the water cup. Before he could say anything I made it my business to quickly explain so he wouldn't think we were stealing soda. Out of respect for a business! He kindly joked with me, implied that "those people" steal, and that is when I became angry, and said "who, my daughter?". That was bad enough. But anyway, my $25 dinner charge came out twice on my card, and when I called to correct the situation, and told them what I bought, I was yelled at by the same man with the accent, and basically called a thief. Wow! HE is the thief and a scam artist. He probably charged my card twice on purpose, especially since he refused to refund the double charge. I have spoken to others who hate working there, who hate the owners, and its sick that they have the idea that they can be unethical. Mostly just him. Since my daughter has been treated differently than me more than once, I know he is racist. I have seen racists, and I know what they act like! This is insane and disappointing. I will not be spending my money here again. Listen manager sir, if it weren't for the black people you have so much disdain for, you wouldn't be able to have a business like this! Racism is a sad reality here. I had to dispute the second charge with my bank. Talk about a thief, I even SAW him pocket a tip meant for his young employees!!! I didn't want to dishearten the girls so I stayed quiet, which I regret. I hope for change. Someone needs to report this business to the Better Business B! read more

Tucked into the face of a little strip mall on Manhattan Beach Blvd and Inglewood Ave is a wonderful food find named Chicken Maison. This restaurant upon first walking in, reminds me of one of New York's famous eat-in delis. Bustling with the line of customers, the staff is cheerful, pleasant and helpful (I wish the dining room help was like this in more of the finer eating establishments in Los Angeles). Your order is taken but it's not handed to you at the counter, this is fresh fast food so they deliver the food to the table. Oh but let me impress you with the freshness factor. Chicken Maison boasts that they prepare all their food and salad dressings daily and are so committed to using the freshest meats and produce, that they don't own a microwave or freezer. The menu prices are great, especially for a small group. With meal prices beginning as low as $6.95, you can order the chicken in , 1/2 or whole portions and all combo meals come with two (2) sides, pita bread and garlic sauce. So, let's get down to the details. After all, I did go there to eat. We ordered the 1/2 Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken with Hummus and Salad. I must say that I was impressed. The manager/owner himself "Sam" brought our meal to the table and was quick to let us know that we could call him over if we needed anything else. The chicken was well marinated and as he was setting the tray down on the table, the sweetness of the lemon and garlic made my mouth water. O.k., can we say tender people. The chicken was fall of the bone moist and practically melted in my mouth. The rice, cooked to perfection, had a light buttery taste and the dressing on the salad tasted as if I made it at home myself. As for as the garlic sauce, it was great! Last but not least, the pita and hummus. The pita bread was so fresh that you could smell it from the plate and as for the hummus, (I love hummus), I can say nothing but good things. Every ingredient was balanced to my liking. Nothing was over seasoned or over cooked on this Foodie's plate. Today, January 13, 2024, I ordered a checked feast with four sides, including a double portion of the original hummus my family and I adore. After a 30-minute wait, I discovered a significant issue with my order. The hummus had a large central circle covered with strange green leaves, resembling a "Wreath of the Kings." Curious about the unexpected presentation, I inquired about the peculiar "hole" in the middle. The staff, appearing visibly nervous, explained that they had substituted the regular tomatoes with a different kind that they could not place in the center, presumably to account for the green leaves. However, this did not clarify why my container had a missing food item in the middle. Dissatisfied with this explanation, I requested to speak with the manager in charge. Unfortunately, the manager offered no resolution and claimed not to have the headquarters' contact information. As a loyal customer, I find it disheartening that Chicken Maison would compromise on portion sizes. While I understand the need for businesses to make adjustments, a transparent approach is crucial. I prefer a slight increase in prices over a reduction in food quantity. I hope Chicken Maison takes customer feedback seriously and addresses these concerns promptly. oh my gawd are you kidding me? The chicken made my day. And believe me, it was a hard day today. I was so exhausted by the end of the day and I did not even want to think about cooking. Just wanted a nice, warm roasted chicken. I've been eyeing this place for a while, so I decided today was the day, hoping, that a random restaurant can really turn my day around. When we got there, there was a person before us picking up his order. The guy said that this is his third time back, and their lemon garlic chicken rocks, bursting out in flavor. We were thinking about getting the original before, but that guy changed our minds. And oh my we are glad we did. The chicken rocks. It really does burst out in flavor. It's so perfectly cooked yet so plumpy and moist. From the time we opened up the chicken until we finished eating the chicken, we weren't even able to have a conversation because we were so absorbed in eating this chicken. And the potato salad really rocks. And so does the rice. And did I say that sauce, that white sauce, was just lovely? cuz it really went well with the chicken. Next time, Falefel is our next goal. I used to be a fan of Chicken Dijon but this place is much closer to my house and it's just as good, if not better. My favorite dish is the Maison Special Salad. I completely agree with previous Yelper, Cheryl B., that I'm also not a fan of having raisins in my rice. But on my last visit, I asked them if I could have it without the raisins and they were able to accommodate my request. AWESOME! The garlic sauce is the absolute best! There's almost nothing I can't eat this with. The pita bread, the chicken, the rice, the fries, etc... it's ALL good with the garlic sauce. The restaurant is a decent size, although not huge. Very clean overall. Large Plasma/LCD hanging on one wall that usually displays some current sports games. Keep in mind, it's located in a strip mall, so it's easy to miss if you're just driving by. If you want to know what heaven could feel like go to chicken Maison! The food here is to die for. I have tried almost everything on the menu and there hasn't been a single item to date that hasn't been absolutely delicious. My favorites have changed a little since my last review, but I still love everything they have to offer here. My new go to's are the chicken Alfredo pasta, not only is the pasta large enough to feed more than one person the sauce is so creamy and delicious. If I'm feeling a salad I get the spicy gyro salad, it is so good. It's almost like the Greek salad but they take out the olives and feta and throw some of that spicy gyro meat on top. Sooooo good. Last time I went in to order my food the girl who helped me out was so helpful, and answered all the annoying questions I had with a smile on her face. read more

Good thing Chicken Maison is right around the corner from my house, healthy and you get a lot of food for what you're paying for! (It's almost like Santa came early this year!!). The food here is really something to rave about. If you're looking for something healthy and light my go to meal is the lemon garlic chicken salad with warm chicken...it is so delicious. The food here is so tasty, it's ridiculous and almost unbelievable how much flavor comes out. They have perfected the recipe to their chicken and I'm the biggest fan. If you're a first timer, go with the chicken plate and get the original marinade. The meat just falls apart and is so tender. The amount of food you get as the sides is also impressive- I had a mountain of rice and hummus that I couldn't finish. On other occasions I've tried the salads and they are very worth it. Huge portions and they don't skimp out on the meat. I tried the lemon garlic salad and it was so garlic-y I couldn't stop eating, it was heaven. I'm a believer! Chicken Maison is my go to restaurant. I work out a lot, and try to keep healthy diet, and the variety on the menu helps me accomplish it. I have three go to meals that never fail. 1) 1/2 spicy lemon garlic with potato salad and spicy sweet coleslaw, 2) spicy spinach salad with brown rice or 3) steak/veggie kabob with brown rice and green salad. Not only is the food bomb, the customer service is awesome! Every time i go in the cashiers are quick and knowledgeable about the menu. They all must really love their job, because every time I am in there they all have such big smiles...or maybe they just like me :) So if you are like me and want a delicious, healthy and inexpensive meal come to Chicken Maison! read more

This place is boombastic! Their garlic sauce fades everywhere else, their chicken is the best, their kebabs rock, and the gyro is amazing. Tried the chinese chicken salad the other day and it was great. The place is always busy but you can always find a seat (thanks Sam) and they are always on their feet about making the orders quick and efficient. Other mediterranean/middle eastern places lag way too much. I wont mention names but all you mediterranean food lovers who frequent spots in the areaa know whats up. They also have this great lunch special that is $5.00 for rotisserie chicken, rice, salad with dijon vinegrette and a drink. Cannot find that anywhere. They serve it 24/7. read more

Just had Chicken Maison for lunch, and holy moly is this what heaven feels like?! I am trying so slim down for my wedding. I am always hungry and down to eat, thank goodness Chicken Maison exists because I can eat a big hearty meal for a reasonable price that is also healthy!! When I am feeling very hungry I will order the 1/2 lemon ginger (its on the special's tv) with my side orders of spicy sweet coleslaw and steamed zucchini, if I want something lighter I go with the lemon garlic chicken salad and I request that they make the chicken warm, there is an extra charge but it is so worth it!! There is something about this place that keeps me coming. I dont know if its the Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken or their great kebabs. Possibly the tri tip shawarma. They really do a great job with their presentation and the timeliness. Other mediterranean places cost too much, and take too long to get your food. Especially while on your on your lunch break at work. This place you get your food MAX in 10 MIN! One of my favorite Mediterranean Food places. I hadn't been to Chicken Maison in years and decided to give it another try since it's known for healthier options. Unfortunately, this visit was a big letdown. The chicken hero was a bit too salty, but the real issue was finding a 7-inch piece of hair in my food. I noticed it right after taking a bite--absolutely disgusting. While waiting, I saw that the staff handling and packing the food didn't have their hair fully secured. One girl had very long hair in a ponytail, completely uncovered. That's a major hygiene concern and something that really needs to be addressed. Sadly, I won't be coming back anytime soon. Total bummer. read more

Personally my families favorite is getting the chicken platter that comes with two different sides. I have tried their original, spicy and lemon basil chicken and I like them all equally. Now if you want something delicious, then get to Chicken Maison. I was just getting off the 405 frwy on my way home from work when i saw this chicken sign and thought, what the heck. When I walked in I was warmly greeted by a friendly staff. The owner was there and he helped to introduce me to what they had to offer. Their menu is awesome, let me tell you. Tried their lemon basil rotisserie chicken and chose hummus and rice pilaf as my sides, also purchased a falafel plate. Both were delicious and my girl was really happy when I brought it home. After living here for a couple of months I figured none of the restaurants in the area served the quality of food that I am used to eating; Top Tier. However, my brother, whom is the most intense food critic I know, told me about two restaurants that are by far the BEST tasting restaurants in the South Bay: Chicken Maison and Top Tenders. This place has phenomenal customer service and their Spicey Garlic chicken is sooo good, I felt like I was on the Animal Planet the way I was devouring the food. Chicken Maison is da Bomb. That other place (Chicken Dijon) doesn't compare in food quality or service. Chicken is great quality but could be a little bigger (aka Costco). Garlic sauce kills Zankou (sp?), and the sides are perfect. Hummus is prepared with care (Tomato slices, and lemon juice). I think the best side is their Greek coleslaw! OMG....my mouth is watering as I write this. Gotta jet....my order is ready! Overall a great, fast, and healthy meal. That's why I keep coming back...and I eat out every day!
