I own a business nearby and come here regularly for lunch when I need a quick bite. Service is fast, the food is always fresh, and it's perfect if you're in a rush but still want something filling and good quality. Their chicken kebob and chicken shawarma are both really good, the chicken pita wraps are always solid, and the Greek salad is fresh and well balanced. You can tell they take pride in both the quality of the food and the customer service. Overall, great local Mediterranean spot in the South Bay and definitely worth checking out. read more

I have been here twice now to dine in, and I am telling you if you want a quick and better for you meal, you have to check this place out! I order falafel and it comes with a delicious side salad. All the vegetables on the salad and in the wrap are really fresh and crispy. I love that they split up the wraps into two so you can take the other one home if you can't eat it on one day. I love that the falafel is not dry and the sauces and salad dressing are delicious, but still let the ingredients speak for themselves. They have lots of clean, comfortable seating inside or outside. You get only 4 meat sticks for 70 bucks in family kabob feast. Not really much of a bargain, since you could have literally bought a combo with 2 sticks, 3 times for 20 bucks each. In effect 60 bucks for 6 sticks. Not sure who thought of this feast. But they need to work on adding value to it. Most feasts are a deal relative to a combo. Not the other way around. The Greek salad is delicious! The portion is a large size and the ingredients are really fresh!!! The olives give it a really nice kick & the dressing is light, but flavorful. You get two of them. Customer Service is always pretty good, food ready in 10-15min, and it always looks clean. It's not a cheap salad, but decently priced especially because the ingredients are good quality. I'll definitely be back to have this salad when I'm craving a refreshing salad, but don't feel like making one myself. read more

I was in the area and wanted something that hits close to home. So I stopped by Pita Cafe. I've never eaten there but heard great things about it, so I gave it a shot. Staff was extremely kind and courteous. The food was made fresh (you can taste the freshness), and the food was absolutely delicious. Their chicken kebab was extremely flavorful? Their beef kebab was tender and juice, and their koobideh was made exactly the way koobideh is supposed to be made. It's a cute small spot with great service and delicious food. Disappointing. They must have changed cooks, ingredients, or both. The meat cuts are much smaller now, overcooked, and lacking seasoning. Everything else tasted okay, but nothing stood out. Portions have definitely shrunk while prices have gone up -- which sadly seems pretty common everywhere lately. Sad times. read more

I've had more than one bad experience here, and it's disappointing because this place has potential. On one occasion, I arrived about an hour before closing intending to dine in, and I was told I couldn't eat there because "at this hour it's no longer possible." The restaurant was still officially open, yet customers were clearly being turned away. Recently, I came to pick up an order around 8:20 PM, with the restaurant closing at 9:00 PM. By that time, the dining area was already completely cleaned, tables stacked, grill shut down, and the entire place smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. The atmosphere made it very clear that customers were no longer welcome. As someone who has worked in restaurants, I understand wanting to clean up and go home. However, if you are open until 9:00 PM, the restaurant should feel open until 9:00 PM. This kind of rushed, pre-closing environment creates a very poor impression and raises concerns about food service quality and overall professionalism. My chicken kabobs were tasty, veggies were fresh and hummus was great. I love their freshly grilled pita breads that had a slight crunch that I love. My kids loved their lamb gyro plate and hubby also enjoyed his beef and chicken koubadeh. Their garlic sauce also adds extra flavor to your meats if you choose. Since living in the area for several decades, we have watched establishments come and go. Pita Cafe on Artesia in Redondo Beach is relatively new, so we decided to check them out via Grubhub. We ordered the Lamb Gyro and Chicken Shawarma. Our order was dropped off on our porch, and when went to fetch it, it felt as though the restaurant had thrown in a 10lb weight in the bag! The amount of protein in either order was generous to the point of embarrassment. Savory slices of lamb stacked so high, I was sure that a large mound of rice lurked underneath the meat. Nope. All meat. My wife finished half of her chicken before throwing in the towel and saving the leftovers for tonight. I managed to finish the entire combo in one sitting. The past few visits, the food has been very good and the service was as well. Each time we went in, it seemed they had changed something about the menu. We were a little concerned about the inconsistency but I think they were just evolving. This past visit impressed me enough to take time to write another review. Portions are big, everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. There is a free lot in the back as well as free street parking on Artesia. The dining room is clean but small so you may want to order online and pick up. Prices are reasonable for the size of portions. The gyro with tabbouleh and an extra side of pickles is my go to while my husband's is the chicken schwarma plate. If you haven't tried it yet, give it a chance. read more

Pita Cafe finally is open so we wanted to support a local biz and when for takeout lunch. Parking lot behind has about 5-6 spots which is not bad. The restaurant looks very nice and clean inside. Lots of table to eat at. We got a Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Breast Pita and each came with one side. It took close to 20 minutes for our order to be ready - so you might want to call ahead and then come to restaurant. Both sandwich came with two pieces individually wrapped and tasted good. Chicken Pita had a yellow sauce on it that was very good, but messy. Hand over those napkins! The only drawback was the price! For two sandwiches it was $40! But wish them much success! read more

The service and the food are amazing!!! However, it is so hot inside the restaurant, don't even think about sitting there to eat. The restaurant owner seems to have given up on the place entirely! No air conditioning because it's been broken for ever now they say which is definitely not true. It's been broken for way longer than that.
