Chicken N More is a little Texas BBQ place across from Irv's. It's open from 11-8, Monday to Saturday. In my opinion, it is the best southern food in town. They cook a lot of their dishes to order- not that it can be modified- so expect to spend a little time waiting for your food. IT WILL BE WORTH IT! The chicken is juicy on the inside & crispy on the outside, the ribs are tender, the pulled pork is fantastic, and they have side dishes galore! If you've never had collard greens, this is a great place to try some for about $1. I also recommend the mashed potatoes, baked beans, and homemade sweet potato pie. They also serve daily specials. For a little hole in the wall the food is amazing. When they say spicy they mean it's spicy, like burning tomorrow as it exits spicy, you have been warned. The restaurant is a dive but the food more than makes up for it. Three of us are for less than $30 and we were all full. Every bite was wonderful and I will be back. It looks like a place that would give you food poisoning that you stop at because you're starving and later you realize what a little gem it is and how fantastic the food was and go back again and again. Yummy, the chicken was great. I had the two piece with baked beans and potatoes. The baked beans with BBQ sauce was also very good. However, after reading the reviews on Yelp I was a bit disappointed. I would have to say that Popeyes chicken is better. read more

We walked in a bit after 7 on a Saturday night. It was obvious it had been a long day. There wasn't much left to choose from, but the staff was very friendly. We ordered pulled pork, coleslaw, hushpuppies and red beans and rice. Delicious, every bite. Even my Southern boyfriend couldn't get enough. I am definitely going back for the chicken. The ribs are very good and cooked to perfection and their sauce is equally great! (not overly sweet like longhorn barbecue) and i hear great things about the catfish (though i haven't tried it.(not much of a fish guy!) Excellent fried chicken - Spokane has no need to envy Ezell's in Settle. The sides are good, the cobbler fairly average. Portions are large, so you can figure out some creative ways to share with friends. read more

Nice an clean cool decore ole school lic plates on wall, staff very friendly, roll of napkins on tables an wet naps all as don't have to ask. Excellent fried chicken. I regret we didn't have more people with us or more time to try the catfish and everything else on the menu. Their gumbo is out of this world. Something so simple, yet so, so good. My chicken sides were collards and mashed potatoes. The collards were interesting. Perhaps it's a unique recipe or a kitchen mistake, but I swear they lasted far too lemony, almost like peach cobbler. The mash tasted a bit old and the gravy didn't have much flavor. My first dinner here, so maybe it was just an off afternoon for sides? The owner/cook and servers were friendly, and even with a dining room suddenly full of customers, we received great service. Everyone was chill and the wait wasn't bad. I don't live in Spokane, but when I visit again, this is the first place I'll stop at for lunch or dinner. read more

Best fried chicken I've had since a trip to New Orleans 2 years ago: tender, juicy, and crispy! I ordered the 3 piece dark meat meal and was very happy. The meal came with a roll and your choice of one small side and 1 medium side. My small side was red beans and rice with a medium side of greens. These were NOT collard greens, but I can't remember what they were, possibly turnip greens. Both sides were just ok, but a couple of splashes of the excellent Frank's hot sauce on the table perked them right up. There were also wipes on the table to clean your fingers after using them on the chicken. This place is a real gem of a hole in the wall. Fantastic. It gets busy at lunch and it's not a huge space, but generally you can find find a seat rather quickly and sit down. I'm not a bbq expert but the food is moist and delicious. Tried the brisket sandwich today. Great as well. Actually only the second time ordering something other than chicken. Was very happy. Last time I tried the catfish. Love this place but good grief, service is really really slow. Calling in an order guarantees nothing. Bob the owner is a hoot and generous at times, but they have to figure out a way to get food out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Never gets better either. Only reason i come back is best chicken in town. If a Church's, Bojangles or Popeye's ever come to town, this place will go out of business. Smarten up! read more

Stopped by here for dinner. The food was good, hot and fresh! Though it's not in the best location, it's worth the $4.00 parking . I had the chicken and Ribs special; they give you plenty of ribs and the chicken breast was yum, the coleslaw was alright and the potatoe salad was good. read more
