The service is great. One thing I look forward to is consistency in a place I like to eat and Ezell's is exactly that. From the west side to Spokane the chicken has been excellent! My biggest complaint is that they haven't opened a Valley location yet! The only reason I don't eat here more is because I don't go to the South Hill often but when I am there, Ezell's is always on my mind. read more

Food is as good as expected. The restaurant was filthy and we almost left before ordering. Fountain machine was disgusting and sticky. Splatter of syrup all over it. I have enjoyed this business in the past but this was the 3rd time I had placed an order that was supposed to be ready for a specific time and it wasn't ready 20 minutes past that time still. I loved coming here for my lunch breaks but I won't be able to do that anymore. The older gentlemen at the front counter served like 3 other peoples order before mine stating it takes 18 minutes to do it. Would've not been so upset had it been addressed in some polite manner or at all but I stood at the pick up counter for five minutes without being addressed. 35 mins I've been waiting and still don't have the two pieces of chicken I have been staring at under the heat lamp. Every single item in my 2pc, 1-side order was already made. I waited in line for 25 minutes just to order. Then another 10 to get my food that as I just stated was already made. Very inefficient. Very frustrating. Very poor service. Being that I'm from Louisiana and I've had a hard time finding enjoyable food around here Ezells was a great find. I got the 3 pc chicken meal with two sides. The chicken was crispy & the seasoning was on point (I was told the spicy is better than original which is what we all ordered). The macaroni did not disappoint just like back home, the roll was great, my Cajun fries (there's a choice of Cajun or just regular crinkle) was deeelicious and a big portion, and the baked beans were to die for! The potato salad was acceptable but I had to add Tony's & more mustard(just me though) When we arrived there was a long line and the wait for fresh food was reasonable. All of the workers were kind & informative. It reminded me of Raising Canes but much more soulful. We'll definitely be taking the 30 min drive to return! Thanks for your existence Ezell's read more

Y'all really got me on here making public ratings I'm so heated right now. Not only have changed the honey mustard 3 times, and got rid of the cajun fries, but I'm typing this after biting into a chicken strip with a handful of a long black hair baked into the breading, so catering I finished throwing up I tried to call and fix this and The phone still ringing 30 minutes later as I type this. I'm HEATED. And upset the only good chicken joint in Spokane is going downhill, Edit: 2 years later, still on hold, I'm convinced these guys unplug their own phone line to avoid being constantly bombarded with negative reviews. My first visit to ezell's today for lunch ,the wife and i split the 4 piece meal you get to pick the pieces you want ...with 2 sides we did mashed potato's which came non seasoned but a little salt and pepper fixed that and the beans which were ok chicken was good .....I got a side of hot sauce which was good ,my one complaint is the booths are for the svelt ,I'm a good size guy and i would not be comfortable squeezing in the booth ........ read more

I love fried chicken, and this was the first time I tried Ezell's. I ordered the half spicy and half non spicy chicken with sides. I found the chicken and sides to be bland. The chicken was not salty enough for me, the spicy chicken was not very spicy at all, and the side of corn was bland and extremely oily/buttery. I was so happy to hear we have an Ezell's in Spokane. I lived for a brief period of time in Seattle and would pick up meals on the way home. They only have locations in Washington and Spokane is their only Eastern Washington location. Amazing fried chicken!!! You can order à la carte or as a meal. You can't go wrong really with any of the sides and the rolls are soooo delicious-just a hint of sweet. Try the spicy batter for your chicken. Yum! Very disappointing chicken. It has a beautiful crisp and the pieces are fried perfectly juicy, but there is no flavor or seasoning. Even if they added a little more salt, it would really wake up the chicken. The mashed potatoes and gravy is also super bland. It tastes very straight-from-a-box. The roll was probably good, but it is slightly sweet and I don't like sweet rolls. They did not include any butter in the bag. I tried to layer some chicken on the roll, but still seriously no flavor. I threw most of the meal away. read more

This was our first time here. It wasn't super busy, so the wait was not long. The gal behind the counter was very nice. However, she forgot all of our sauces, and we even purchased extra ones on top of the ones that come with the meals. The strips weren't quite the same without sauce, and our 4 year old wouldn't even eat it without. We ordered both types of fries, and they were dry. The regular chicken was good though. Mac-n-cheese was lacking salt. For just over 60 dollars for 3 meals and dessert.. it should have been much better. We asked for napkins and utensils as well, we didn't get those either. My Mom for years has raved about this place. So when I finally had a chance to visit trying Ezell's was among my to do items. Lots of convenient parking. Inside is strictly booths but they had tables and a bench outside that suited me fine (squeezing in booths is a chore for me). I went for the 4 piece (half spicy, half regular) plus mashed potatoes and beans. OMG! It is as good as Mom said it was. Tasty battering (spicy had a moderate kick), juicy tender meat. And the potatoes are from scratch! So good! Beans also were great. TWO rolls with the meal, when most places would only give you one? Way to go, Ezell's! Buttery perfect accompaniment to the meal. The chicken is... chicken. It's cut really strange, and there is nothing special about it. Everything else I tried, also sub par. They also messed up my order and I didnt get the potatoe salad in my 4pc. Instead I received mash potatoes, they were dry/lumpy and unseasoned. The gravy was very bland. The mac n' cheese was gritty, did not taste like real cheese and seemed to be separating, like it had been sitting all day. The cobbler arrived cold, with no strudel or cobbler type topping. Whatever was on there was disgustingly soggy. It tastes like canned peaches and cinnamon, not in a good way. And just mushy consistency. This was super disappointing! read more

This place was horrible! The staff was extremely rude and not to mention our order was wrong and when we (my 11 year old daughter and I) mentioned it all we got was a huffy puffy attitude. I was not the one they made uncomfortable but they made my daughter feel really bad for saying something about our order! We live in Cheney and have a big family so when she checked the bag the woman behind the counter made a rude remark that made the situation worse. We are from the west side we're this would never happen. This place has a great reputation all over so I was extremely surprised at the customer service. I love this place! The young lady behind the counter is OUTSTANDING! This place is constantly busy , the chicken is good - and the prices are reasonable. Been years since I had Ezell's but it is as good as I remembered (maybe better.) Fresh, tasty, and prices are still reasonable. I grew up eating the original in Central District Seattle and as far as I can tell still the same great chicken! For the record, spicy chicken is the only way to go, it's not that spicy but tastes way better than normal. Mac and cheese was out of this world too. read more
