Classic Carol on a croissant with a side of broccoli salad. $8.51
    Clariee J.

I have some conflicting feelings about Chicken Salad Chick. First off, the chicken salad is legit. I can't deny that. I love eateries that find their niche and stick to it. That means they know what they do well, and CSC can make chicken salad. I didn't expect it to be a nice sit-down place, but if you have a few minutes, by all means, take a seat. The atmosphere is casual, the place has a lot of natural lighting and the tables are clean and orderly. By all means, if you have a few minutes, take a seat. I got the classic carol on a croissant today. The chicken salad wasn't runny with mayonnaise (huge plus!), the flavors were smooth and the croissant was soft and buttery. I got a side of broccoli salad as well. I should have figured it'd have bacon on it but I didn't think about it (I don't eat bacon). The good news is that the bacon is piled on top and not mixed into the salad. So after I took off as much as I could, I had a few bites. It was good as well. the biggest plus was it wasn't overpowered by watery mayo/dressing like other broccoli salads are. It's pretty simple: broccoli florets, shredded cheese, mayo/dressing, bacon. Nothing to call home about, but it was a good side. The croissant and salad were mild, and the pickle added a nice burst of stronger flavor to the meal. So here's where my conflict comes in: too little chicken salad on the croissant, and the ending bill was pricier than I'd like. The prices aren't insane, but I find them too expensive for the portion of chicken salad I got on my sandwich. Unbalanced ratios like that are what make me not return to an establishment, even if the meal was good. 3.5 stars out of 5 (but 4 since I can't give half stars on Yelp).

Chicken salad BLT with cup of loaded bake potato soup

I was tired of the same lunch places so I was looking for something different. I had heard of this place a few times before but never been. Stopped for lunch and was surprised by the large crowd. I'm you're wondering where all the older ladies eat, this may be it. This was like going to grandmas house for lunch. In a good way... They have many different types of chicken salad. Some unique combinations...101 ways how to do chicken salad. I had the BLT chicken salad sandwich with loaded potato soup. They also include a sugar cookie for that sweet touch at the end. All had that homemade comfort food taste. This was more than enough for one person. In fact I couldn't finish it all. Service was fairly quick considering it was packed for lunch. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch and will be back.

We eat here (various locations) at least once a month. The food is always served fresh and the quality is consistent. I love their App with their rewards program. It always makes me feel good to get an occasional freebie and to be alerted to various specials. We tried the BLT today on toasted wheat bread instead of the usual Chick trio we always get. I think the sandwich had a little more chicken salad than we typically get on a croissant. Sassy Scotty and fancy Nancy are my two favorites. The loaded potato soup is always a reliable side. And gosh knows I love that little cookie. Good lunch. Pleasant and friendly staff. The manager came by our table (which I always appreciate). The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff did a great job keeping the dining room clean during the lunch rush.

I have been here quite a few times. Growing up eating chicken salad as a kid, I was thrilled to find a place that specialized it. Talk about cornering the market! They really have a lot of options when it comes to chicken salad. I usually go for their everyday deal of a scoop or sandwich and a side. The food is always fresh and you can depend on the taste being the same no matter when you go. They have good options for sides, including another scoop, soup, and various salads. I have been the the other locations in the area, and they are all very good but this is my favorite location. They have some nice outdoor seating and the employees are always very friendly and eager to help. I will continue to come here!

I really enjoyed lunch with my coworker at this place. I always wanted to eat here, and thought how many different chicken salads you can make just with chicken... the place is very cute , and it reminds me of a country cafe. The people there are so friendly. Menu is simple. I picked a salad with grapes and pineapple since I love fruit , and my side was broccoli salad. The broccoli salad was amazing. And we both got free cookies. The crackers are wheat ones , and they tasted very good. I will visit this place again.

This is what $454.00 worth of food looks like! Y'all should be embarrassed!

This was the most pathetic display of food for my catering order that was ordered to feed 30 people for $454.00 I was so embarrassed. I ordered enough food to feed 30 people for sandwiches and 2 sides. The broccoli salad was great but my office had to ration the food in order to make it go as far as possible, which was not all the way. When I order, I order so that there are leftovers and people so t have to feel like they need to ration or go out to eat so the office has enough When $454.00 is spent to feed 30 people you should expect well over plenty of food. I would NEVER recommend using them in a catering situation unless you want to pay $20.00/pp to make sure that is adequate amounts of food.

If you are on Gunbarel and looking for a great place for lunch this is it. They have almost as many types of Chicken Salad as Baskin Robins has flavors of ice cream. I have only tried a few of them but they were all good. Service was good and the food was great. This makes for a perfect combo for me.

Casual, colorful, the kind of spot where you expect someone to walk in wearing flip flops and carrying a fishing pole. Comfortable vibe. Easy place to settle in and see what the fryer can do. First up were the fried green tomatoes. They came out looking like they'd just won a beauty pageant. Crispy outside, tender inside, cooked exactly right. Texture nailed. But flavor-wise they felt like they forgot their gym bag at home. Needed salt. Needed a little personality. A rare moment where the fryer did its job but the seasoning clocked out early. Then the headliner arrived. The fried chicken at Champy's Famous Fried Chicken has a reputation to protect, and thankfully it shows up ready to work. Crisp, flavorful crust. Juicy inside. The kind of chicken that crunches just enough to make everyone at the table look over and get jealous. "If the deep fryer had a Hall of Fame, Champy's chicken is getting a first-ballot vote." And then came the move that sealed the deal. A dip into Champy sauce. Suddenly the flavor level jumped another notch. Salty, tangy, just enough punch to make the crust shine even more. The sleeper hit though? The cole slaw. Creamy, balanced, and actually refreshing next to all the fried goodness. It's the quiet kid in class who ends up acing the exam. Easy to overlook, but absolutely worth ordering. Now for the tiny curveball. I happened to land there on karaoke night. And let's just say... the speakers believed they were performing at an arena concert. Loud enough that conversation required leaning halfway across the table and reading lips. On the flip side, the crowd was clearly having a blast. A few genuinely good singers, a few that were more... enthusiastic than talented, and plenty of people cheering them on. Honestly, respect to anyone with the courage to grab a microphone in a room full of strangers. So no star deductions for that. The people who showed up to sing were having the time of their lives. Bottom line, Champy's Famous Fried Chicken is a fun place with seriously good fried chicken. Order the bird, grab the slaw, lean into the fried side of the menu, and enjoy the show if karaoke happens to be on the schedule. Just maybe bring your singing voice... or your earplugs.

The fried chicken came out hot, crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. You could literally see the juices coming out of the chicken, and every bite was delicious. The customer service was excellent as well. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The walls were covered in dollar bills and license plates, which gave the restaurant a lot of character and made it feel like a place with stories to tell. I found myself wondering about the history behind it all.

We got to choose our table and had friendly service the whole time. Note that although the service is pretty good, the food coming out was a little slow. We got the 3 chicken tender basket, catfish basket, the smoked buffalo wings, and banana pudding. The buffalo wings were the highlight. Great smokiness coming through the wings. Just a little bit of heat from the buffalo sauce. Highly recommend. Everything else was pretty good. The chicken was tender, and good crisp to the outside, and good seasoning. The catfish was pretty good too although they were pretty thin so didn't get quite as much of the crunch to tenderness contrast that I like in a catfish. Also, their tartar sauce is too sweet. I prefer more tang on the sauce. I think the sauces run sweet as I thought the champy sauce was a little too sweet over mustard-y. Good fries with great texture and seasoning. I also got the green bean sides which were a little soft but great, depth of flavor as it was clearly cooked with pork. The potato salad was good if not memorable. The kids loved the banana pudding. A little too much of the cream and not enough pudding but otherwise worth getting. All in all a strong chicken spot to visit while in Chattanooga.

The problem is the cleanliness. Tables and floors felt neglected and the bathrooms were straight up filthy. That alone hurt the experience. Service was fine at best. The server showed up, took orders, and dropped food. No warmth. No real attention. It felt like she was counting down the minutes until her shift ended. Food was a mixed bag. The tamales ($8.00) came out hot and fresh, which is a good start. Flavor was missing. The sauce did all the work. Without it, they were bland to the point of tasting like bottled water. The mac and cheese was average. The noodles were cooked right. The cheese sauce had no personality. No seasoning. Nothing memorable. The chicken tenders ($14.00) were done right. Fresh. Crunchy on the outside. Juicy inside. For a fast casual spot, this was a win. The chicken and sausage gumbo ($12.00) was easily the best thing on the table. Great flavor. Proper spice. This is the dish they should be proud of. The issue is portion balance. Way too much broth and not enough chicken, sausage, or rice. It felt like an 80 percent liquid bowl. Flavor was there, value was not. Also odd detail, real fork for coleslaw, plastic spoon tossed into the gumbo bowl. Overall, Champy's has a fun vibe and one strong dish, but it gets dragged down by cleanliness issues, lackluster service, and bland sides. I left feeling underwhelmed.
