Great post orange theory fitness lunch since it's right across the street in the same plaza as david's bridal, Moe's, and firehouse sub and adjacent to the earth fare and target. This plaza has it all :) I came in ravenous and since it's been a while from my last visit here, i thought I'd give it another try and try some different chicken salads. I chose the classic salad with 2 scoops, the fancy Nancy and the kickin kay lynne. Both very good. The fancy Nancy is the traditional way i eat chicken salad with the grapes, Fuji apples and pecan. It has a good crunch and sweetness to it. And the kickin kay Lynne was a new one for me, with buffalo sauce, jalapeño and sriracha it's for those like me who likes a little kick. I didn't think it was as spicy as i was anticipating but the flavors were great. My salad came with leafy greens that were very large, could have been cut up a bit, and grape tomatoes, plus cucumbers, with a side of ranch dressing. They also gave me a pickle spear and a sugar cookie with icing on top. Very sweet and soft. Perfect way to ruin a semi healthy lunch haha but it's all about balance right. Overall i enjoyed the visit. It cost about $10 and i left full and with leftovers. P.s you order at the front cashier, and it's either take out or you can dine in. If you dine in, they have a seating area that has about 15 tables and the wait staff will bring you the food. Then you dispose of your trash when you leave. The drinks are self-serve. Everytime I come here the workers complain about management. When I've had to deal with management they are rude. She doesn't smile and gets irritated with the staff over small stuff. There were dead flies in the windows and trash was to full. Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. read more

It hurts to give what feels like such a low rating when the service alone was 5 stars! Alas, Chicken Salad Chick's food is just not up to par as it once was, though. I usually love this chain, and it has been some odd years since visiting a Chicken Salad Chick, but this was my first time trying this location. Ordering was straightforward, and despite being a bit busy with the lunch crowd, service was friendly, efficient, and helpful (shoutout to Abdallia who rocks!). The facility and outdoor tables were clean and comfortable, which is much appreciated. Unfortunately, the food and portions have changed, and not for the better. Today, I ordered the Fancy Nancy sandwich on a crossaint with pasta salad side ($9.50), which is my go-to order whenever I do visit Chicken Salad Chick. The chicken salad taste was good, but the portion size doesn't justify the price. The croissant barely had any chicken salad on it. In the past, I remember being able to bite the crossaint sandwich and the chicken salad filling would smoosh out. The amount of chicken salad for this visit was barely enough to taste and made the bite dry and very crossaint bread heavy. Also, unfortunately, the crossaint bread was a little tough, like that of a bit of stale bread. I also remembered the crossaint sandwich having lettuce and tomato on it. But again, today, the sandwich did not contain either. Lastly, the pasta salad was dry, lacking in dressing "sauce" and a bit of flavor. It was a bit sad visiting Chicken Salad Chick today, and finding what was once reliable and "worth it" is no longer. I am hoping that today may have been a fluke because I would love to visit Chicken Salad Chick again, but hopefully for the yummy and better portioned crossaint sandwiches and sides they once served. I have some conflicting feelings about Chicken Salad Chick. First off, the chicken salad is legit. I can't deny that. I love eateries that find their niche and stick to it. I got the classic carol on a croissant today. The chicken salad wasn't runny with mayonnaise (huge plus!), the flavors were smooth and the croissant was soft and buttery. I got a side of broccoli salad as well. I should have figured it'd have bacon on it but I didn't think about it (I don't eat bacon). The good news is that the bacon is piled on top and not mixed into the salad. So after I took off as much as I could, I had a few bites. It was good as well. the biggest plus was it wasn't overpowered by watery mayo/dressing like other broccoli salads are. It's pretty simple: broccoli florets, shredded cheese, mayo/dressing, bacon. Nothing to call home about, but it was a good side. The croissant and salad were mild, and the pickle added a nice burst of stronger flavor to the meal. So here's where my conflict comes in: too little chicken salad on the croissant, and the ending bill was pricier than I'd like. The prices aren't insane, but I find them too expensive for the portion of chicken salad I got on my sandwich. Unbalanced ratios like that are what make me not return to an establishment, even if the meal was good. 3.5 stars out of 5 (but 4 since I can't give half stars on Yelp). read more

Moved my family from California to Tennessee to experience that southern hospitality that is highly sought after. This place makes you feel right at home from the moment you enter the door. I have tried Chicken Salad Chick at various festivals and events around town and have really enjoyed their chicken salad. I never got the opportunity to eat in until recently. I will say that the ambiance of the place is very nice. Very southern and lady-like, almost like a tea room. You do have to order at the counter though and then they give you a table number and do deliver to your table. I order one of the fruity, nutty chicken salads as a sandwich on a croissant. I also got a side of the Chicken Florentine soup. I wish I would have just gotten a scoop the the chicken salad and not the sandwich. There wasn't really enough of the salad portion and mostly it felt like I was just eating a croissant. The soup was tasty. Nice amount of chicken and spinach. I did need to salt it but I understand not wanting to make it too salty for those who don't care for that. I very much enjoyed the pickle and small cookie with it. Sandwiches come on white, wheat, croissant, or sourdough. You can order sides like pasta salad or fresh fruit. It comes with a soft cookie. I've been passing this place and sneering at it for a while going to Moes. I mean what kind of gimmicky name is this. I get it now, a chick that does chicken salad. I'm thankful that the chick went into this line of business and not porta potties. That being said the estrogen does appear to be a little thick, from the decor, the clientele, and the menu. The food is good. A very tasty sandwich or two scoops of salad in place of the bread. Various soups and salads can be ordered as sides. I've been regularly visiting this Chicken Salad Chick since it opened, mostly calling in lunch orders for myself and sometimes co-workers. The quality of the food has never disappointed any of us, but I agree with a previous poster that sometimes I don't always get my complete order (most of the time just missing a cookie) and have started having whoever picks up the order check it before leaving. I don't have any complaints about service or food, but do think they need to put menus at the front of the restaurant. When they first opened, they had several laminated menus available for people to review before getting in line. It's very frustrating when I'm trying to pick up a call in order, or just even order, and so many people aren't ready to order. It would also be helpful if there was a dedicated place to go for call in orders. Overall I love the chicken salad and sides, which prior to coming here, chicken salad would never be my first item of choice on a menu. I've tried maybe 5 different varieties of chicken salad they offer and have loved them all, much to my surprise. One time I did get a roast beef sandwich and soup and found both to be lacking in flavor, but again, it's a chicken salad restaurant. At first I would agree it's a little pricey, $7 for a scoop of chicken salad, a side, and cookie, $8 for the same thing and an extra side, but anywhere for lunch these days that's not fast food and that's pretty reasonable. This location still has the serve yourself drink station. They have a note asking to use a napkin to get your drink however the napkin dispenser was empty. The most disgusting thing is that they have a container by the trash can asking you to place your unopened cookies and crackers there. They should make them available upon request if they are trying to avoid waste. Definitely the bacon is my favorite! Perfectly savory, with the right amount of mayonnaise. The sides are just as yummy. I like this place. But this is the FIFTH time I've ordered the Fancy Nancy chicken salad - Grapes and Fuji Apples - where there were little to NO (literally) grapes in the scoop. Previous times ONE grape. This time two very small grapes - one the size of a cranberry. If I were making this salad I would be sure each scoop had ample grapes - either by noticing what I scooped or by making sure there are enough grapes to make a difference. (This time there were 3 very small bits of apple as well.) I've reviewed this issue on their survey and here on Yelp. Maybe they don't read either. Service is excellent!!! Overall experience is nice! I drive 20 minutes away and low and behold, the only crackers in there are the 3 "extra" he put in there. Ate here for the first time while traveling through Chattanooga. This place is amazing. They have 15 kinds of chicken salad. I got the soup and sandwich with a new flavor (Curry) that the cashier suggested I try. The soup was great as well (loaded potato). The server who delivered my food was extremely friendly and later even refilled my drink and cleared my table. You don't find service like that at fast food/quick service places very often. Today I ordered curbside at the Gunbarrel Rd location in East Brainwrd Tn., and after waiting quite a while - 40 mins - just because everywhere is short staffed right now and I didn't want to be a Karen! - I went in and asked about the order, told them I had waited 40 mins and told them I did tip! She asked my name and I told her and she handed me the food and started to just walk off. I asked were they not doing curbside and she didn't say anything and kept going. It was pretty rude but I shrugged and walked towards the door. Got a few steps and heard "ma'am!" I went back thinking the man who called me was gonna apologize for the rude lady. But when I got up there he just goes "what?" Took me a little by surprise but I said "well I had ordered curbside and waited 40 mins and my food was just sitting in here." He pointed to a computer screen and said "see that? Our curbside is down. We are extremely short staffed and there's a line to the door." Then turned to the next customer and said "next!"
