The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions and there is a lot of seating options down to booths, tables and outside seating. The problem is that on two separate occasions, I've crunched down on some kind of soft bone or tendon in my chicken salad. My husband and I came here for lunch yesterday, and we're pleasantly pleased with the menu and what they offer. I noticed as we walked in that they have a self serve area for prepackaged salads to take home. I picked up the Jazzy Julie to make sandwiches at home. For lunch here, we had the Fancy Nancy chicken salad melt and it was tasty, and went well with the spicy chicken poblano soup, which was very good. I love the unique girl names for each of their salads. If you believe this restaurant has just plain chicken salad you'd be mistaken. I thought this, until we tried it. There's a first time for everything!! I loved my first try of Chicken Salad Chick. Upon walking in and making it to the counter, I was revived with the warmest welcome. I told the cashier that it was my first time and I swear her eyes lit up with excitement. My first question was to ask her recommendation for a person who likes the regular way of making chicken salad and she recommended Classic Carol. Now because I had been browsing the menu online, I knew i wanted to try the chicken melt. So that's what I ordered. Chicken Melt with classic Carol and the grape salad. OMG !! The Classic Carol was delicious. I will say that the croissant was toasted. After a couple bites I found myself eating just the chicken salad, so for next time I may do without the bread. Not that it was a bad thing, but the chicken salad and melted provolone on top just didn't need a toasted bun. The grape salad was good, kind of refreshing to balance out the flavor of the chicken salad. I was very impressed and will definitely be back to try atleast a couple other flavors. My wife discovered this franchise when she was visiting her home state of Arkansas and she brought back several different kinds of chicken salad for us to try. She was convinced we were gonna open a franchise! Someone else in Lee's Summit beat us to it. This place is magnificent! My wife waited here on opening day in line to get a monthly treat for the first year they are open. We came for lunch on tax day and shared a Chicken Salad Melt with Dixie Chick. It's the only chicken salad with onions. It's great on a sandwich. We got a scoop of Fancy Nancy on the side with some crackers. We love the one with the green grapes. A great addition to Lees Summit. My sister and I lynched here and thought the food was good and very fresh. It was so nice not to have fried food at an establishment. There were lots of people there, service was good , wait staff was friendly and the owner was there? I got to talk to him, that was a pleasant surprise most times you never see the owners. There are 3 or 4 regular chicken salads, the there are fruity blends with fruit like apples, grapes, pineapple and cranberries. Then there are spicy versions with jalapeños and Buffalo chicken, so there is something for everyone. The meal includes a little shortbread cookie with a light lemon flavored icing. What a delight I had visiting Chicken Salad Chick. I had the triple scoop with their various versions of chicken salad. I tried the Classic, Dixie Chick, and the Lynne. All three scoops were amazing. The scoops were pleasing to the eyes on a bed of lettuce, and they gave you the right amount of toll house crackers. The ice maker makes the perfect size cubes for ice eaters, and it rivals Sonic beverages-mini cubes I am going to come back and try the rest of the menu. I look forward to trying the dillicious diva and the soup menu. Lastly ,chicken salad chicken gives each customer a packaged sugar cookie, which brings your expectations over the top. I ordered delivery through their website, and like many restaurants, the order was sent through DoorDash. Unfortunately, the driver picked up the wrong order and wasn't responding when I tried to contact him. DoorDash directed me to contact the restaurant, so I gave them a call, even though I knew it wasn't their fault. A very kind woman, who I believe is one of the owners, answered and immediately offered to have her or her husband personally deliver my correct order. Not long after, her husband arrived with it, and my boyfriend mentioned how nice he was. I truly appreciate how proactive and caring they were in fixing something that wasn't even their mistake. I've been waiting over a year for this to come to MO and I wasn't disappointed! I absolutely love chicken salad and tried the lemon basil and buffalo barclay first - both were 10/10. The next order I really enjoyed the Cranberry as well, the kickin Kay Lynn is HOT! I prefer the chicken salad with crackers more than with the bread or croissant. I will say I really didn't enjoy the pimento blt and won't be getting that again but the grape and pasta salad were both delicious additions to the chicken salad. We were fortunate enough to go to the soft opening, and WOW was it good! I've been to this restaurant in Tulsa and was so excited to see it opening in KC. It's such a great, fresh lunch (and dinner) spot, with amazing service from the owners and friendly staff. I was so excited to try the food, I spent many years eating at little cafes that served the best chicken salad and sweet tea! Today having lunch there brought back sweet memories! The chicken salad is so good. They off white wheat and croissants for the sandwiches. They give you plenty of crackers also. They remind me club crackers but better not as oily. The tea is not Southern sweet but still nice. It's nice they have lemon slices. The soup was good was season well. The girl behind the counter said I have to warn you it hot. I ordered online for the whole office, 18 meals, for pick up from the Lee's Summit location. Parking is kind of a nightmare, as there are a few businesses there with limited parking up close. Fortunately found an open curbside pickup spot, otherwise, it would have been a long walk for me with armfuls of food. The meals were all ready on time, they were correct & had names written on them, which I appreciate. When I asked the gal behind the counter if the multiple bags sitting on the table in the restaurant was mine. She kind of looked at me like, "I can't believe you ordered that much!". I almost felt scolded. I had to carry out about 15 bags. By myself. The gentleman that gave me my receipt simply walked by me, out the front door and didn't offer to help me. I was really surprised they ask for a tip online and then don't offer to help you out the door with a large (over $300) order. I wouldn't have tipped if I had known I was the one that deserved the tip. It would be nice if they would invest in large bags to put multiple meals in (like Panera does) as well. The food...we had multiple orders, so we got to try several flavors. The Fancy Nancy was flavorless and disappointing, unless you happened to get a small chunk of apple (I had maybe 2 small pieces in my whole sandwich), or grapes (I had 1 1/2 grapes, and one of them was whole). The Olivia's Old South was delicious. Flavors were spot on. One of the girls had the Cranberry Kelli and she said it was delicious. The Jalapeno Jolly was tasty. I wouldn't put it on a sandwich, but would definitely order and serve with crackers for a party. The Grape Salad was very good. Others said the Pasta Salad and Broccoli Salad were also good. Some said they prefer the Broccoli Salad over the Pasta Salad. The cookies were ok. They come individually wrapped, and they include one with each meal, which was unexpected & nice. I wouldn't have ordered more if I had known they came with each meal. They are just a basic frosted buttercream cookie. Overall, it was good, but, not sure we'll try again very soon. Online ordering was a bit confusing, slow and clunky. Absolutely didn't care for the (lack of) customer service in the store.
