It pains me to write this review because I wanted to like this place so badly. I think the concept is great and the prices are excellent for how much food you get. However, I have eaten here two different times and have gotten extremely sick after eating from here, and the same has happened to a couple of my friends and coworkers. I wish I could return but something they're doing is not right if multiple people are getting sick after eating here. Also, I feel like many of the chicken salads taste exactly the same, so it kind of ruins the idea of having multiple flavors of different chicken salad. Maybe someday in the future I will give it another chance, but I'm too scared to honestly. read more

Great place for lunch. It's a casual concept restaurant that competes with the Panera Bread, that's a few feet away in the same stripping shopping center. I had the egg salad, chicken salad and pimiento cheese salad with a cup of the tomato bisque. All were delicious. The food is served in a basket with a paper liner and utensils , cups, etc are plastic & paper. The service was prompt and the restaurant is very clean. I'll be back again. Delicious delicious delicious is how I can describe it. It is a new place. Speed of service was great even during lunch hour traffic. I ordered the chicken salad BLT w/ tortilla soup. Decent Portion sizes. I couldn't finish my sandwich in one sitting and I was hungry. Yesterday, I got some chicken salad to go. I ordered the "make it a trio" with Classic Carol, Dixie Chick, and Fancy Nancy. They say "Dixie Chick" is their most offensive because it's for the onion lover. It was tasty and yes, full of onion. The Classic Carol and Fancy Nancy were good, but I really couldn't tell much of a difference between the two. Fancy Nancy was supposed to have apples, grapes and pecans in it, but there was very little of any of the 3 items, which was disappointing. All in all, the chicken salad tasted good, but I'm giving it 3 stars due to not being able to tell much of a difference between the Classic Carol and Fancy Nancy. read more

Great choice of chicken salad recipes. In town visiting my sister and I ate there 3 times for lunch. Twice I had the classic chicken salad and once I had the cranberry Kelli chicken salad sandwich. The grape fruit salad is very very good and so are the cookies with buttercream frosting. The grape salad had me when she described it as "cream cheese dressing .... brown sugar topping". Oh yeah! I ate here yesterday. It's new, clean and the employees were very nice and helpful and the food was ready quickly in spite of the long line. We each got a different chicken salad. Me, the Dixie Chick,My daughter got the lemon basil chicken salad. Though each salad was a decent chicken salad. They tasted the same. We could not taste any basil or lemon in hers and I was looking forward to a little onion flavor in mine which I did not taste. I'm not saying it was bad but it wasn't exciting. Maybe if you order one with fruit or nuts it will taste different. We each got a cup of the tomato bisque soup which was very good and the cookie that came with it was soft and sweet. I always thought everyone like their chicken salad done differently and this is a great concept but personally I think it needs more flavor. I mean!!!! How many flavors can you make??? Soooo good though. Atmosphere is southern style..the wait could take forever but the line moves fast. Full disclosure- and I realize I could lose my Southerner card for this- but I am not a fan of chicken salad. I don't like mayonnaise and most chicken salads I have tried have too much in it. Having said that, I am also bored with the options around here and Chicken Salad Chick has other sandwiches, salads, and soups to try. We used the online ordering option, which is convenient and gives the customer the ability to leave ingredients off, add extra, or have them put on the side. You can pick your side, drink, and dessert, too. You have the option to have the order ready ASAP (and they give you an estimated time frame) or you can pick a time in the future, then you pay, and pick up your order. I opted for the turkey club with the honey mustard on the side. Except when my husband got there to pick the order up, they thought I meant nothing on the sandwich and only the honey mustard on the side. They were able to rectify that and overall, the sandwich was fine. Nothing special- lettuce was fresh, tomatoes weren't, bacon was your typical fast-food microwaved rubber type. I chose the Lauryn's lemon basil chicken salad as a side and was pleasantly surprised at how little mayonnaise was used. Still, the taste was overpowering to me. I'm not sure if it was the lemon or the basil (or something else), but maybe another flavor would be better. My husband went with the spicy pimiento cheese sandwich with bacon. Again, he said it was fine- nothing special, but not bad either. They also forgot his side, so it was kind of a boring meal with only the sandwich. As others have mentioned, the frosted lemon butter cookies are good- the best part of the meal to us- but we thought it was a little pricey for the amount of food. This place is terrific! You gotta love a new, colorful, and clean restaurant in East Memphis. The staff is so nice, especially Amy, Jenny, and Abby. Abby asked if we needed anything and offered to go get us refills. The staff does a very good job of keeping the restaurant clean although some of the patrons we saw ate like they were used to eating out of a trough. Get some manners Memphians! How come some people don't have the decency to clean up after themselves? Anyway, let's talk about the food. As Lawrence Welk would say, "Wunnerful Wunnerful". My family ordered several different flavors. Old South, Sassy Scotty, Fancy Nancy, and Cranberry Kelli just to name a few. I had the Fruity Fran BLT on toasted wheat bread with a side of the broccoli salad. Man, was that the bomb! If my mother were alive I'd have to slap her cause it was so good. Here's another tip, try the egg salad. It's fantastic! I'm really impressed with the management too. They came around and checked on us to see how our meal was. They're on top of things here and don't hide in the back or behind the counter like some other managers do at the places down the street. Wanted to do something special for my wife's 50th birthday. I had a catering order to surprise her and her coworkers with a nice lunch. I don't like chicken salad and had no idea what to order. They were super helpful and accommodating, even making sure I had exactly 50 mini-croissant sandwiches (which they normally don't sell in that amount). They recommended the Fancy Nancy and Olivia's Old South chicken salad. Had Pimento cheese with crackers for dipping. Everything was a big hit, all the food was eaten at her work. It sounds funny to say, but I think the workers cared that my wife's 50th birthday celebration went perfect. The manager even included a birthday card with a coupon for a free scoop. Nice touch. Wonderful! Ordered online for my office, easy to navigate webpage. My order was set for 12:30. I went in early at 12:18 and an employee immediately greeted me with my order in hand like he knew it was me. Pretty impressive. My staff loved their food.
