A new concept: a restaurant devoted to chicken salad opened December 2016 in Palm Harbor, across US 19 from LA Fitness, in the same shopping center as Ace Hardware. Today, Wednesday, January 25th, was my first visit. The restaurant is bright and cheery with lots of Windows, a light green interior and wall posters of Tampa Bay icons like the Don Cesare to provide a local feel. Orders are taken at the counter, you're given a number you display on your table for your server to find you. For $10 I enjoyed a healthy "traditional" chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce, tomato and pickle. Included is a choice of one side which could include a variety of creative salads, or of a soup. I chose the sandwich, potato soup ( topped with cheddar cheese and bacon bits.) Also included is a huge fountain drink or iced tea and a lemon frosted cookie for dessert. What a great value compared to fast food eateries which typically aren't as healthy of a meal. Kudos to your staff who are very helpful in suggesting items on the menu and helping me understand the various menu combinations one can choose. Customer service and satisfaction is important here and it shows by the actions of their happy employees. Very impressed with Chicken Salad. Although this is a 60+ store, South East restaurant chain, one feels like it's family owned! Next time I look forward to trying the egg salad and tortilla soup. read more

Every time I come here it gets a five star review. I love this place ! One day I'll switch up my order because I literally get the same exact meal EVERY TIME because it's so good. Oh and they have a drive thru... super convenient. I get the BLT sandwich with the buffalo chicken salad, side of soup. The soups change based on the day. The broccoli cheddar is my favorite. I have now visited this place twice and am happy to say both experiences were amazing! I came with a friend the first time, and we each had classic salads with a chicken salad scoop. Absolutely delicious and huge! I couldn't finish the salad, but I ate the pickle that came with the meal. There was also a mini buttercream cookie that cake with the meal too, but being gluten intolerant, I gave the cookie to my kid when I got home. The second visit was just as pleasant and delicious. I brought my husband this time, and he got the chicken salad BLT sandwich, which came with a side, a pickle, and the mini cookie. He couldn't finish his meal either, which makes me happy. I hate ordering a meal and still being hungry after. Plus this place is food I feel good about eating. My favorite part is the sample bar! I like to stop in here Sunday and grab a few containers of their salads for my lunch for work during the week. EVERY chicken salad I have tried I like! My favorite items to date is the Kickin Kay Lynne and the broccoli salad. I have tried the following chicken salads - their fancy Yancey, buffalo, jalapeño, bbq, and lemon basil - all good! I will say I was a little disappointed to read in the ingredients of the lemon basil that it includes high fructose corn syrup so I will probably pass on this one next time. Found another little gem of a restaurant. I had the Classic Carol on toasted wheatberry bread and it was delicious but much more than I could eat. Not too much mayo, fresh and comforting. Husband had the Fancy Nancy (pecans, apples & grapes) on Croissant which he devoured. Cute place, nicely decorated and clean. Service was very good. A wide variety of chicken salads to pick from. I decided upon the one with grapes and nuts and was told by my cashier that was a "rookie" order. Ok-it's a good go to and I would order it again, rookie or not. After we ordered our food and grabbed our number we went looking for a table. This place was packed at 1215 so when a table opened up we sat down. Again, the same cashier brought us our food and chastised us for sitting at a dirty table. The food was good, not phenomenal, but the price point was wonderful and the little mini cookie that comes with each meal is just enough sweetness to finish off your meal. The menu is a bit weird to follow and the girls at the register weren't very helpful but I quickly decided on the Sassy Scotty with a side of pasta salad. I waited a bit on the longer side but the owner came over and introduced herself in the mean time which was nice. The Sassy Scotty was full of flavor but it was like buffalo chicken dip on a sandwich and a little much for me. The pasta salad was bland and I wouldn't recommend it. On my 2nd visit I ordered through the drive through. I got a Dixie Chic on toasted white bread with the pimento cheese and a sweet tea to drink. The tea was the perfect touch of sweet, the pimento cheese was to die for and the sandwich was great! The drive through process was very quick and thorough. Decided to try Chicken Salad Chick today for a local, quick lunch option. I like some crunch to my chicken salad so I ordered the Lauryn's lemon basil, which has pecans, on toasted wheat. Either they left out the pecans or they were pulverized so small that I didn't even notice them, so no crunch to the chicken salad itself. And I'm not sure how they did it but the toasted wheat bread was a beautiful toasted brown on the outside but was as soft as untoasted bread, so no crunch there either. Flavor was salty but good but I was disappointed that I was expecting some crunch and in reality it was just uniformly soft. The mac n cheese side was nice and hot even after I got home (I did take out) so that was nice. Overall, I would try it again. Maybe I'll ask for extra toasty next time. read more
