I've been craving some Korean chicken, and this place absolutely hit the spot. When we arrived, there were a few people ahead of us, but we were able to place our order pretty quickly. They have a good selection of food ranging from fried chicken and army stew to a variety of fried sides. These are the items we tried. Army Stew - A simple classic. It was good and came with ramen, rice cakes, sausages, Spam, and much more. It's pretty much what you'd expect from an army stew. Solid overall, and it also comes with a bowl of rice. (4/5) Soy Garlic Wings - We got a half chicken, and these were good. TBH, they were a bit less flavorful and crispy than some of the other Korean wing spots I've been to, but if you prefer a lighter flavor, these definitely hit the spot. Solid. (4/5) Kimchi Chicken Sandwich - This was delicious. I'd never had a chicken sandwich with kimchi before, but it works really well. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the flavors were well balanced. My favorite. (5/5) Rooster Fries - A simple yet tasty fried dish. It comes with fries and chicken tenders. Good and pretty much what you'd expect. (4/5) Overall, I really enjoyed the simple vibe and the food here. The restaurant reminds me a bit of a fast food spot, but the food is definitely good and the pricing is reasonable. It's worth checking out. Parking - Not bad, but there are only three spots in front. Otherwise, side street parking looked pretty plentiful.

The space is clean with plenty of tables, and the service was great --they kept checking in on us. Everything made fresh to order. Honestly, a half-size chicken is the perfect portion for two people to share. Coleslaw is good but the cabbage pieces are cut pretty big. Yuzu flavor is incredibly unique with a bright, punchy yuzu sauce. The breading not too thick, not too thin. If you're dining in, I highly recommend getting the sauce mixed in rather than on the side. It also comes with a side of that crunchy radish. The Original Half Chicken is tossed in a delicious gochujang and gochugaru-style sauce, but don't let the red color fool you--it's actually not spicy at all. We also had to try the Soy Garlic Half Chicken. Flavor-wise, the soy flavor is definitely a bit stronger than the garlic. Kimchi Chicken Sandwich worth the price for its size! It's built on a lightly toasted, buttery pretzel bun. The sauce is a complex blend of hot, sweet, and sour. While the base sauce isn't as fiery as I expected, the fresh jalapeños inside definitely bring the heat. The kimchi pairs perfectly with the chicken, the pickles add a great extra crunch, and it hits all the right notes: spicy, salty, and sweet. It's a tiny bit on the salty side though. Overall, fantastic spot for lunch/dinner after stopping nearby a cafe.

We went on May 7, 2026 and Daniel took care of us. He was so nice, amazing, and such a good worker. He was outstanding and did such an amazing job helping us. We had to take content, and he was so patient, kind, and helpful the whole time. You can tell he really cares about the customers and the people he works with. He definitely deserves a raise!

this is a great place to stop by if you're craving some chicken! we came after the world cup finale and were starvinggg so we got a ton of food. soy garlic fried chicken: 5/5 - my favorite out of everything that we ordered. i loved the soy garlic flavor and the chicken was super plump and juicy. ct chicken sandwich: 4/5 - the cashier recommended this one, and i really enjoyed the crunch of the chicken. ct fries: 5/5 - absolutely inhaled these. the sauce was a great flavor and i really enjoy a balance of soggy and crunchy fries. army stew: 3/5 - my friend and i love this dish so we ordered it, but honestly the portions aren't that crazy for the price. the soup flavor didn't stand out to me and it just tasted like ramen. i enjoyed the sausages in it, but would recommend getting the chicken at this place more. this was my friend's favorite dish though. charbroiled angry chicken: 5/5 - i brought this home to eat since we were already so full from the other food, and it was still amazing as a leftover! i like the slight spice, and its a solid rice bowl with a decent amount of protein. there was a ton of seating in this place, and it was a nice roomy spot to get food. the parking lot is pretty small. all the staff were super kind, and the cashier was ready to offer recommendations.

Have been meaning to come to this place for over a year, I'm so upset I put it off for so long. I had the Kimchi Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! The chicken thigh meat was perfectly fried. The cheese sticks were fine, those were nothing too special. But this is a chicken place, and the chicken was GREAT. Loved the taste of the kimchi and pickles with the slightly spicy fried chicken. The service was great too, told me it would take 10-15 min to cook, and it did. Made sure I didn't need anything else when the food was delivered. Answered all my questions when I ordered. Downfall, not very much parking at all. And I cannot speak to the sides yet, YET.

We were craving Korean fried chicken so decided to come here. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. The restaurant is pretty spacious, very open and clean. The server answered all of our questions about the menu and also recommended some things. We decided to order: Half chicken soy garlic Half chicken Original Kimchi fried rice Army stew Gravy fries Special fries The food came out pretty quickly and OMG it did not disappoint! The chicken was very well sauced and still had a little crunch. My daughter really loved the garlic soy and my favorite was the original since it had a little spice to it. The french fries were also very flavorful. The army stew came with spam, sausage, rice cakes, and ramen. It was warm and comforting to eat! Overall, i give this place 10/10! I can't wait to go back!

Chicken place obviously that serves fried chicken as well as chicken rice bowls. I'd stick with the fried. I had the wings and they were fine. The bowls weren't really that good tho. Service was order at the counter and they bring it out which was good. Plenty of seating and clean.

The owners are super nice! Food is high quality at awesome price! Honey chicken is so delicious, perfectly cooked chicken and large portions! Spicy chicken adds perfect spicy taste and matches perfectly with white rice served together with healthy veggies. Their chicken burger is also a great menu. If you have not yet tried Korean food, try Spicy Korean Chicken Stew or Army Base Stew which includes Korea. Ramen noodles. If you want something simple, grab and go, try chicken salad box or Kimchi fried rice box, perfect for a office lunch, picnic lunch or just a simple normal day lunch box. Chicken trooper also serve beer and I recommend fried chicken which you can choose from a whole, half, tenders or wings plus delicious fries on the side. This chicken trooper is right next to the authentic CoffeeCode coffee shop. I love to visit both place for a grab and go. Any order you place can't go wrong. This place and CoffeeCode coffee shop is should definitely be your bucket list to try. read more

Delicious!!! This place opened up a few months ago but I didn't noticed it because is so small, it has parking for 3 small cars on a corner lot, but what they lack on parking they have it on flavor. They have two ir three tables, so most of their orders are "to go". Very fast and accurate on the "ready" time. I really like this place, the menu is small but when you want fryer chicken this is the place. read more

Best place in town when you're hungry. The vibe at Chicken Trooper is really cool. From the friendly cashiers to the awesome cooks, the whole staff are amazing. I been coming here since they opened and the taste keeps getting better. Their angry chicken plate and gravy fries are to die for. My coworkers and I have been dining here once a week in the last few months. Everything on the menu is DELICIOUS! The chicken alone is amazing: breasts in sandwiches/tenders/wings are all crispy and juicy. The various sauces just kick it up another delicious notch. The restaurant itself always looks clean and well maintained. The service has always been friendly and attentive too. Parking can be a pain due to the tiny corner location but the walk down the street is well worth it so don't be lazy. To the owners of this establishment: keep it up cause this type of food at this consistency is hard to find. read more

What a great new find! We will definitely be coming back to enjoy more of Chicken Troopers. We had several different dishes from there but they primarily focus on chicken tenders with multiple sauce choices. I could not believe how tender, juicy and fresh the chicken was. All three of us were totally in awe of how flavorful they were alone but then adding the sauces to it made them even more delicious. The sauces do have a bit of a bite to them but this Korean American fusion is absolutely a must when we are near by. They do have a small menu but we can say without a doubt that it is very good and worth the money. I would not consider this expensive at all for the quality of food you get. read more

The chicken was juicy and tender and it was seasoned well. Just have to say the homemade gravy is amazing! Would tear off pieces of chicken and dip it in the gravy all day if I could. I liked the chicken sandwich, it's been a couple of months since I tried it but from what I remember it tasted like authentic KFC (korean fried chicken) but with a little homemade twist with a stronger taste of gochujang, which i actually liked. This is the third time I have eaten at this place. Their chicken is always fried to a delicious crisp and the sauce just makes it pop!!! Like the fried chicken with no sauce is a legit 8/10 but the sauce makes it a 10/10. In another order I got the army base stew and it was delicious and I will order again on a cold day. This place is very underrated. It's in the middle of nowhere but if you're in Cerritos, Buena Park, or La Mirada area, it is worth the drive. Ordered the yangyum chicken, onion cilantro chicken, and budaejjigae. They were all superb. I especially enjoyed the yangyum chicken. It reminded me of the legit Korean chicken I grew up eating in Korea. The sauce was on point. I would even say the sauce was better than Pelicana chicken. I really don't want this restaurant to close down so let's show this place some love and give it a try! read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! This place is soooo good!!! From the great and friendly customer service to the gracious owner. We got the 1/2 chicken plate and it was so tasty and moist. All white meat! I'm going to do whatever I have to but if I happen to walk in and see that bartender I will leave immediately. He's a liar and a thief with no class and I don't appreciate it.
