The chicken was very well sauced and still had a little crunch. My daughter really loved the garlic soy and my favorite was the original since it had a little spice to it. Have been meaning to come to this place for over a year, I'm so upset I put it off for so long. I had the Kimchi Chicken Sandwich and it was delicious! The chicken thigh meat was perfectly fried. The cheese sticks were fine, those were nothing too special. But this is a chicken place, and the chicken was GREAT. Loved the taste of the kimchi and pickles with the slightly spicy fried chicken. If you're going to be ordering multiple items, I suggest you order when you're ready to eat them. The chicken is quick to get cold. It arrives piping hot otherwise. The chickens strips had the feel and texture of raising canes strips, but lacking the strength that the canes sauce brings. Perhaps I'm not a the biggest fan of Korean sauces. I think that their spicy sauce (not the bbq one) was quite delicious. It was sweet with a tiny kick. Their French fries are quite good, they arrive seasoned. We ordered the spicy chile sandwich. I guess I'm the fly in the ointment. I got a kimchi chicken sandwich and an order of CT fries. Items that appeared spicy in a cuisine known for its heat. Were they spicy and crispy and delicious? No. They were sweet. Gaggingly, cloyingly, infuriatingly sweet. Like someone had gently soaked them in syrup. The fries were literally soggy, there was so much sweet sauce on them! I went from one item to the next, somehow hoping that they would get better. They did not. A few bites in, I wrapped it up. Thought, "Maybe someone at home will like this." And when the guy asked me if I liked my meal and I explained to him that I did not, that it was too sweet. He said "Yeah a lot of people tell us that". Pretty delicious meal, slightly pricey but you get your protein and rice. The angry chicken isn't really that spicy so it was still enjoyable. The char on the chicken adds more flavor. The rice is good, not overcooked or undercooked. Very different than any other Korean chicken shop I've been to. It got a pretty good kick to it. Spicy, but hella delicious. Half size fried chicken is more than enough for me to eat. Okay, that was delicious! My husband and I tried their CT Chicken Sandwich - it was so flavorful and crispy. We demolished ours so quickly so that was the only photo I was able to capture. We also tried the half order of soy garlic chicken, which was just as delicious. The staff were friendly and the service was relatively fast, even if you do have to wait while they cook everything to order. It's a nice spot and it's clean although we took our order to go. Our first time at any Korean chicken restaurant and Chicken Trooper nailed it. Chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and moist and hot inside. This place is not a chain from what I understand, and there are literally hundreds of other Spicy Chimkin sando spots. This is legit on my Top 5. It was super fresh hot out the fryer. The kimcho and Jaw-la-puh-nose put it on a whole nubba-level. Have not tried other items but will def come back to try the stews and some of their fries. Had the worst chicken sandwich ever. Bought two different types and they both absolutely sucked. They were soggy drenched in oil and had lettuce that tasted expired. I bought a bunch of food wanting to really enjoy this new spot and all of it is going to the trash. Portions are huge but it's a big waste of money.
