Word on the street is that the owner of this place moved heaven and earth to create these crab fries, but I'm gonna stop you right there. My guess is that this famous crab cheese sauce is made with Cooper white American cheese (correct me if I'm wrong) and everyone in this region of cheesesteak just happens to be addicted to it. But as far as I can tell, that cheese is a not-too-distant relative of liquid adhesive, and its inclusion as a founding ingredient of your "famous crab cheese sauce" does not in any way strike me as ultra-legendary or inventive seeing as how all it seems they did was add Clamato powder to it. But whatever, it's not like it's bad tasting. Bad FOR you: no question. But fine. Oof and the sliders were super dry - is cheese the only acceptable condiment around here? Overall fine. read more

We were a pretty big table and the food came out so slowly that the first people to get theirs let theirs get cold before everyone else got their meals. Haven't been here in forever! Had to start with the crab fries! They are the best and that cheese sauce hits like no other. Gave the Lisa lobster pizza a shot and it did not disappoint. It's a $35 pizza but check out how much lobster they top it with! It's garlicky and has a slight kick which I loved! Service was great! Not sure how this place gets so many good reviews. We were expecting at least decent but it doesn't even come up to that. The boneless chicken wings were hard and over cooked. The Philly cheese steak might be the worst one I ever had in this part of the country. The meat was a dry and chewy small portion, the fried onions undetectable and the cheese sauce tasted like it came out of a can. The clam chowder was OK but the best clam chowder does not have potatoes in it which were slightly under cooked anyway. The crab fries were sprinkled with ground up crab meat that resembled hamburger and had the same cheese sauce as the cheese steak. The service was the best part but you cannot eat service. Many screens showing sports if the food does not matter to you. Best to eat elsewhere in many of the wonderful restaurants this area has to offer before heading to Parx casino. read more

This location sits Inside Parx casino, convenient for a bite in between losing money to the slots. Fries were crunchy on the outside tender on the inside, perfect amount of old bay seasoning and that addictive cheesy, tangy dipping sauce -delicious. Mussels were okay. The broth didn't really have any oomph and quite a few empty shells were served. Buffalo Wings were fine - tasty Buffalo sauce but could have been more tender. The restaurant was clean, the booths were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. I had the taste for a burger and onion rings. This is a chain, but the food was good. Recommendations: Roasted salmon sandwich & ricotta doughnuts. Stopped for a quick bite after playing. We got the half sweet potato and regular fries with the cheese and maple sauce on the side. The fries were cooked well. Also, we got the Italian steakhouse burger which unfortunately was cooked medium well when I asked for medium to more medium rare but still juicy. The roasted salmon sandwich was also over cooked but still edible and moist. Wasn't a fan of the chocolate cake. Tasted more like a dense brownie. Caramel did not taste salted at all. Waste of time was my trip all the way there only to be told there was a 90 minute wait for a party of 2... I haven't had to wait anywhere since before Covid. Came here tonight following an event at 360. We were a table of 8. I ordered the world famous crab fries and my husband ordered the Buffalo chicken nachos. Food was great. They gave us a huge plate of nachos. I love the inside of this place too. Very spacious and lighting is great. My only complaint was that they added gratuity to our bill automatically. Located inside the Parx Casino, we stopped here for a quick dinner before a show. Hostess was super friendly and took our name as there was a 15 minute wait. Once seated we checked out the menu and decided what we wanted before our server came over. The ultimate crab fries and crab nachos were DELISH! The nachos were served on a small cookie sheet...def enough to share. Service was just a little slow but they were pretty busy and they comped the nachos since they were late in being brought out. I haven't been to this location in years. Was craving some crab legs so decided to go back. Nothing about this place changed in 10+ years. Not even their menus. It's a disgrace. You could barely read them! You can't update paper menus? No utensils at the tables. Had to ask for anything and everything from napkins to a fork. The way the food came out was weird. My kids food came out first which is always welcome. Then my husband's entree and 15 mins later mine.... Well now everyone had to sit and watch me eat. Further The crab legs were over cooked and tasteless. Also thought it was weird that the fried shrimp doesn't already come with a side or any sort. Like not even fries? This is the kind of place you really want to like but it is not good. Everything you order here has very large amounts of salt in it probably including the overpriced salads. There are no decent food options at Parx but Chickie's offers take out and I have tried most or everything on the menu. The Magooby is an interesting find as it is sort of a shrimp hoagie with pickles and fries on it....its different I will give them that. Your best bet is the oysters when they are buck a shuck on off times or during special promotional periods. You now also have to finish your drinks while in the restaurant so no quick beers you can take on the floor. I often come to this restaurant. It is inside the Parx casino. I love the lobster on the menu. The waitress did mention that the lobster menu was reduce from 3 lobster tail to 2 lobster tails. Let me tell you ! This was sad. I have never had such 2 small lobster tails and no meat i. The tails. Why would you reduce the number of lobster tails and still keep it the same price. Very very disappointing. I did accumulate comp from playing at the casino. I used my comp towards my meal. This location is in Parx Casino. We ate here around 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. The waitress was prompt when we sat down but did the typical come back every 2 minutes when we were just catching up and then disappeared for 10 when we were finally ready to order. $4 Blue Moons on special this Saturday so we got a few of those. For food, we got a cheesesteak, burger with crab on it and buffalo chicken sandwich. We also split an order of crab fries, which are a must. Cheesesteak was fine, nothing special but not bad either. My friend said the burger with crab was really good and the buffalo chicken sandwich was ok. Crab fries were solid, not as good as I remembered them being but fries with old bay and cheese sauce you really can't go wrong. Overall, a solid 3 stars, no main issues but chain restaurant in a casino, it is what you'd expect it to be. Stopped by Saturday night for dinner after spending some time at the casino. We were given a wait of 40 min for 2 and they took our phone number to text when table was ready. I think we probably waited about 20 minutes. We got a nice booth, it's a great sports bar to watch the many games playing. Ordered up some combo fries that's both their famous Crabby fries with cheese sauce and the Crabby sweets sweet potato fries with some cinnamon maple sauce... loved them. More then enough for 2 to share. We also had the Classic cheesesteak with cheese sauce and fried onions and the Double double burger with American cheese, roast beef, caramelized onions, and sharp cheddar-cheese. The cheesesteak was ok, nothing spectacular and the burger was good too. I'd honestly have given 4 stars if the volume of the sixers game wasn't SO LOUD and the bathroom was clean. You know when you leave a concert or loud bar/club and when you're back in the normal world, you feel somewhat deaf? That's how I feel right now! Knowing how passionate Philly sports fans are, I didn't dare ask them to adjust the volume. It honestly sucked having to scream to talk to my girlfriend and I would've gone elsewhere had I known it was going to be this way. This was my first time at a Chickie & Pete's and it didn't disappoint otherwise. The crab fries were tasty but not very warm. The buffalo chicken nachos were HUGE and quite tasty and filling. The crab was also good, although you aren't given that little fork to help get the meat out. Service was good too, the server and her trainee were very attentive and refilled our waters and any adult beverages any time it was needed. Speaking of alcohol, this is probably the cheapest place to order booze within Parx casino aside from trying to find an invisible cocktail server out on the gaming floor. Tonight was $4 Tito's and $2.50 Bud/Bud light (yuck). It's also non-smoking! A real treat inside of what's otherwise a toxic ashtray of a building. Be sure to pack galoshes if you're a guy and use the bathroom. The floor was SOAKED and it wasn't with water! This was honestly pretty disgusting. My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town from Florida and were having midnight cravings while at the casino. When we asked for food recommendations, one of the dealers recommended this place and was surprised when she heard we have never heard of this place! We ended up getting the sweet potato fries and regular fries. I liked both fries, but wasn't too fond of the sweet syrup sauce for the sweet potato fries. The fries itself were delicious enough that they didn't need dipping sauce. As far as entrees, my boyfriend ordered shrimp tacos and hot shrimp, and had the lobster roll. The lobster roll was delicious and I was impressed by how much lobster they put into the roll. My roll had huge claw pieces in it. The shrimp tacos were okay, but were a little too spicy for me. My boyfriend was a big fan of the hot shrimp. Despite it's name, they aren't very spicy at all. They're marinated in some juicy savory sauce that we both loved. Great spot to go and enjoy a game, good music, and great service. Their menu better than your average pub style menu. They have different specials every day of the week. I would definitely recommend their sampler and the wings. I also really enjoy that they regularly check on you to see if you need anything else. Parking is limited to street parking, so you might have to drive around a bit until something opens up. Also, I would recommend trying to avoid being seated in their 2-seater high top tables in the center row of the place. I eat here quite often, and the food isn't bad. Today, I stopped in for mussels and a Miller Lite. The bartender left over an inch of air at the top of the glass. I laughingly asked if he intended to fill the glass and he told me "That is a Chickie's pour, two fingers of foam." I thought he was kidding, but he was serious. I might have bought his story, if I hadn't had beers here many times before, all full glasses. To add insult to injury, the other bartender poured two beers right in front of me and filled the glasses. Let me start by saying that I started off by being a Chickie & Pete's hater...not because they particularly did something to me, but because my husband is such a HUGE Chickie & Pete's lover...it was annoying to go there so much. lol Now living about 3 minutes from this location, I have grown much fonder of the brand and their food. One of the best things about this location is that it is huge and you can have a great happy hour or meal with a large group without having to wait for 2 hrs for seating. This location in particular is extremely modern and sleek to compliment the fact that it's in a casino. They have these booths on the sides that look like they are for karaoke, but I think are for gaming?? Sadly they are forever empty. Happy hour is one of the best times to come here, it is from 4-6 pm and consists of good beer discounts and better food ones. My favorites are the famous crab fries combo for $5 and a personal pizza $5. Oddly enough they make some of the best pizza I've had; their sauce is a little spicy and just delicious. As for regular food, here's what to order: 1. Spicy shrimp - This is my absolute favorite item. As for some bread for dipping in that mound of oily goodness. 2. Bocce Meatball bowl - A newer food item, I HATE meatballs and these were airy and perfect. 3. Pizza - regular cheese or lobster white pizza - again, some of the best pizza! 4. Mussels - in white or red sauce - huge fan of the sauces they come in 5. King Crab legs!! Huge and great garlic and old bay spice, I love their Wednesday all you can eat $30 special. 6. This is by far the most posh Chickie and Pete's I've ever been too. It had the neon lights of a casino and space a club. The beer selection exceeded my expectations. I didn't have time to analyze the taps, but a Victory Golden Monkey and Troegs Nugget worked for me. Despite concert crowds, I was able to get a standing spot by the bar before and after the show. Even with a concert rush, I was able to get drinks pretty quickly. While I didn't eat there, this would be a good option if you leave yourself enough time before a concert at the new center. read more

Good service like this will make you buy another drink and sit there for another 40 or so mins and spend that extra $$$. The crab fries are life changing! I mean I've had good french fries from disco fries to poutine, Cajun fries, cheese fries but Crab Fries at Chickie's and Pete's are a game changer. The fries were everything a fry should be, hot crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with not even a trace of grease and the crab seasoning which was perfectly spiced. The spice was neither too salty nor too peppery and paired so well with the cheese sauce. I could have made a meal of these so easily. We also had the crab nachos which were also hot and fresh with a nice amount of flaky crab to accent the crispy chips, cheese sauce, sour cream and pico.
